you can tell, especially w zakk, they really tried to keep the mindset of 'how would the abbotts play this today' /they really worked on gettin all the lil licks and styles of em soo well.. i know my biggest fear w these shows was gonna be less than a tribute to the og band n moreso a shred cover sesh .. like "pantera night @ the whisky" type shit. but thankfully i dont hear any of that.. dimebags solos were fuckin dead on! even the added flares he threw on em sound like what dimebag woulda done had he had 20 years w the songs.. if that makes sense lol
That's a pretty low bar. Compared to 5 years ago, he's doing OK, compared to 1994 he sounds like a bag of cancerous cats stuck in a bag of mud. I don't mean to be mean but I feel he's the weakest part of this lineup. I feel really bad for the guy and what he's been through, and he's still a legend. But as a loyal fan since '84 it's as painful as watching Don Dokken sing in the current year. If you're younger than 30 I understand and commend your excitement. (I'll probably go see them in Dallas though)

Apparently he's been doing severe intensive cross training and quit the smokes in preparation for this , when I heard that I thought, no way Phil won't quit smoking , I think I stand corrected judging him on this performance .

And as most know you just dont quit heroin once you take it once especially when it helps you with a huge thing like back pain. Glad to see he got his head back in the game atleast now

Pantera is my favorite band of all time. I am 17 years old and never heard Pantera play during my life seeing this gives me goosebumps. I definitely going to a show. Vinnie and Dime are headbanging in heaven right now
Charlie is a better drummer than Vinnie ever was (no disrespect to Vinnie at all, was a good and skilled drummer, but Benante is just more skilled/ better) ... they are different styles of drummers, but still Benante did a great job...

Vinnie could unleash like anyone in the game. See The Underground of America as an example. He also is why Pantera have a groove like no other metal band. He is absolutely integral to their sound and a completely unique metal drummer. Faster isn't better. You'd fold under questioning.

Makes me feel old dude. I got to see these dudes in their heyday. Saw them in 1992 open for skid row also saw them in '96 on their own tour and then saw them open for black sabbath. They were amazing dude no other band like them live besides maybe Van Halen with Dave. Saw that too 1984 tour.

To quote Danny DeVito in Always Sunny: "I get it". This is an incredible tribute tour, and I legit feel disappointed in myself for not realising sooner.

saw them in oct 90 to a crowd of maybe 300. 7 months later same venue sold out(1000)it was beyond flawless.never saw so much energy in a band.and not one note missed. when darrell signed my cd I couldn't read it at first then figured out after about a year he wrote "dimebag" when he was diamond at the time. 3 months later they played monsters of rock moscow. wow
Fucking beautiful 🤘🤘🤘 Charlie killed it with staying behind the beat. He is so used to pushing the beat. Great to see this effort and to let people experience what they didn't get to see back in the 90's.
THIS. That was my worry when they announced this lineup, as in Anthrax his style has always been way on top of the beat/pushing a little. Major props to him for being able to inhabit Vinnie's pocket, sounds just as it should!
Last time I seen Pantera when Vinnie and Dime were still with us, mid 90s. I got to go back stage and hung with all of them and remember asking Phil how he kept his voice then, his statement was, fluids, smoke and f'king Lucky Charms and avoiding manmade pharmaceuticals. He was on to something then. Lol
great job guys. pantera with 2022 production value and sound systems. im sure the dearly departed Abbott brothers would have approved of this. Proud of this iteration of the band for nailing it. Zakk really restrained on his usual ad libs, but it makes the few he throws in so signficant. His performance here had swagger.
Both Charlie and Zakk paid respect to Vinnie and Dime. I must say that for a couple of seconds I saw Dime next to Zakk during his solo. Their essence will last forever through their music. Thank you guys. You're (still) an amazing (tribute) band!!!
One of the biggest regrets of my life up till now is that I never got to see Pantera in their hey day...and as much as I wish Vinnie and Dimebag were on stage, Charlie and Zakk are absolutely KILLING it!!! The greatest metal singer ever (in my opinion) is finally back where he belongs and sounds amazing...Rex is amazing...this makes my soul happy
They did amazing job paying tribute to Pantera. Definitely put some work into it and it shows. You can tell that's not Darrell and Vinnie playing obviously but excellent job by all 4 Heavy Metal icons as PANTERA!

saw them in oct 90 to a crowd of maybe 300. 7 months later same venue sold out(1000)it was beyond flawless.never saw so much energy in a band.and not one note missed. when darrell signed my cd I couldn't read it at first then figured out after about a year he wrote "dimebag" when he was diamond at the time. 3 months later they played monsters of rock moscow. wow

Charlie killed it with staying behind the beat. He is so used to pushing the beat. Great to see this effort and to let people experience what they didn't get to see back in the 90's.
THIS. That was my worry when they announced this lineup, as in Anthrax his style has always been way on top of the beat/pushing a little. Major props to him for being able to inhabit Vinnie's pocket, sounds just as it should!
Last time I seen Pantera when Vinnie and Dime were still with us, mid 90s. I got to go back stage and hung with all of them and remember asking Phil how he kept his voice then, his statement was, fluids, smoke and f'king Lucky Charms and avoiding manmade pharmaceuticals. He was on to something then. Lol

great job guys. pantera with 2022 production value and sound systems. im sure the dearly departed Abbott brothers would have approved of this. Proud of this iteration of the band for nailing it. Zakk really restrained on his usual ad libs, but it makes the few he throws in so signficant. His performance here had swagger.
Both Charlie and Zakk paid respect to Vinnie and Dime. I must say that for a couple of seconds I saw Dime next to Zakk during his solo. Their essence will last forever through their music. Thank you guys. You're (still) an amazing (tribute) band!!!

This is so bittersweet. I love that they are playing and touring again. It’s so sad and heartbreaking not to see dime and Vinny up there.
One of the biggest regrets of my life up till now is that I never got to see Pantera in their hey day...and as much as I wish Vinnie and Dimebag were on stage, Charlie and Zakk are absolutely KILLING it!!! The greatest metal singer ever (in my opinion) is finally back where he belongs and sounds amazing...Rex is amazing...this makes my soul happy

They did amazing job paying tribute to Pantera. Definitely put some work into it and it shows. You can tell that's not Darrell and Vinnie playing obviously but excellent job by all 4 Heavy Metal icons as PANTERA!
