Replacing a Kerosene Heater Wick

- If you have a typical kerosene heater, you'll need to change the wick every few years or it will start making a lot of black soot after the wick burns down too much. The wick costs about $10 and it takes 30 minutes to change. Andrea does it all while John tells her what to do!
Great video. You guys sound like a happy couple. Thank you!
We are. He keeps me being the happy wife.
Im still at beginning at video but already love the energy from the 2 of u
Thank you! My husband somehow disassembled one of our heaters and couldn’t get it figured out. It’s been sitting in pieces in our garage for a year. Think I’ll try my luck at changing the wick and putting it back together for him.
Great video and wonderful instructions
Good job! Thanks for sharing. I have a Toyotomi heater in here which is similar to yours. 👍
You guys are great thank you for the wonderful video
Good job. I think I can do this after watching your video!
good job! thanks for the video
Great video thank you both
Great job
Good job
thank you!!!
Can you even imagine the engineering brain thinking that came up with this contraption?
I've had mine for about 20 years and the design hasn't changed much since then or in the previous years it was made. So whoever came up with the design did a super job that didn't need much tweaking! As an older guy, I appreciate when things don't change.
would it be easier to get the new wick over the heater tube if it was wet with kerosene first?
What can cause sengoku or-77 kerosene heater wick not go down and it will not light
I have one and what wick do I put on?
'inco sheets' are good for containing any unwanted kerosine seepage or spillage :)
Ive tried this multiple times but wick wont stay seated or it binds up!!?
danke !❤
I am trying to put a wick in
You didn't make her clean the chimney? I recently bought a used one and spent hours cleaning the spoot. Definitely worth it and definitely a chore to stay on top of. Do you recommend any cleaning agent for this?
The chimney wasn't too bad. A great cleaner is Super Clean. Purple bottles and you can find in big box stores. It cuts through grease and nasty stuff.
Simple green
❤❤❤❤❤
I put wick on exactly like u did but when I go wind up wick it don’t go up ? Feels jammed won’t crank why?
😡
Do you have the correct size wick? That is the only thing I can think of.
Same thing happened to me. 100% have the correct wick. It's the wick bunching up. The wick didn't smoothly go down all the way. Just lift it back out and play with the wick going down making sure it doesn't bunch at all
شكرا لكم

I followed all instructions (several times) but each time I could NOT get the damned wick knob to bring the wick up!! Tried 6 times. Tremendously frustrated
I’ve always had to crank it all the way up and then hold it in place so the level doesn’t kick the release and then install the wick as if it’s fully raised up rather than install it down and raise it up. Like you it never raises up.
that might just be the problem! Thank you! I was just too frustrated and smelled of kerosene. I will try it again this weekend. @@stephensmart5543
