Seeing the pictures of Gaza is horrifying. But then I think of the videos of the attack on Israel. Civilians running through fields as they are shot at. All the bodies at the music festival that were clearly executed as they tried to hide. The video of a man time after time throwing grenades out of a shelter as he tries to protect the other people hiding in that shelter before he eventually fails and ends up dying. The female hostages that were paraded through the streets of Gaza as the people cheer. What is happening in Gaza isn't good. But if it stops future attacks then I don't feel like I can blame Israel or the IDF. It's not like the US hasn't done far worse in it's history in order to defend itself, just look up the bombing of Dresden and Tokyo during WWII. At least in the case of the IDF they are warning people to evacuate before they level everything. Historically I don't know if the US has ever given evacuation warnings before leveling a city, and we have leveled quite a few of them including the only country to drop a nuke on civilians, and we did that twice. Certainly doesn't make Israel and the IDF the good guys, but I don't think it makes them evil either. The evil ones are Hamas and their supporters.
