crazy it's been 3 years since this run was done, i remember when it first dropped and no one was even close lmao, had to come back and pay my respects to one of the ai goats for pushing the game into uncharted territories and kick everyone else into high gear to catch up lol

Wow ! What a great run ! I haven't watched an Alien Isolation Speedrun for a while now, but when I saw that the old record had been beaten by almost three minutes, I immediately came to watch your run. There are some strategies you use that I didn't know, like when you use the flare to go through Axel in M2 (which is the dream of all players who play this game regularly, haha). The most incredible one is probably the clip you do in M4 thanks to the android. I don't even know how you do that. And finally, at the beginning of M17 you use the human so that the facehugger attacks him instead of you, right ? It's an incredible and almost perfect run. Everything is smoothly executed, and to know that even a few more seconds could be saved is unbelievable. Maybe the perfect AI run will be reached next time ? Anyway, a sub-2:30 run is a great achievement. I don't post a lot of comments on TH-cam, but I really wanted to congratulate you for your work !

To answer a few things, the elevator clip is basically being a step away from the door behind you which forces the droid to warp behind your back which can push you between the door there we can hit the elevator button to unstuck us again and m17 if the human opens the door the facehugger isnt there at all ;)

from what I know about speedruns, sometimes in some games there are sections in which you have to wait for the dialogues to end, in this case Italian is the fastest language so it saves time, a similar case would be in games like Dying Light in which the fastest language is French
I'm glad I found this runs, they are so entertaining. I'm new to allien isolation runs so can anyone explain why he seems to disregard where Alien is at any given time? Is it because he knows where he is? or because it was glichted or something?
Positions of alien/aliens are random, so are positions of other npc, but they mostly have 2-3 variations, so streamer can be prepared for. Also dont forget that sleedrunners manipulate with aliens and others, throwing stuff etc to make sure an npc is where speedrunner needs it to be
Dang man I played this game to completion 4 times and I never used the flares even once. The maintenance jack and noisemakers always did the trick to distract enemies. Also I was always a sneaker rather than a sprinter so it always took me a while to play through
As Alan Partridge would say “Textbook!” The nest section was super impressive. Whenever I picked up the medical supplies in San Cristobal mf, there were hostile humans directly outside that room, or isn’t that a static positioning, can they spawn randomly? They weren’t there in this run through. Also, what’s that thing you do where the door brace is on the other side, you light a flair and then suddenly you can get access to the door brace and unlock it or at least that’s what it looked like was happening! Alot of the bit where Ripley goes to Apollo was missing, it went from her arriving at the core section to talking to Apollo. Well done on this run. It takes me about a week to complete. Although I’ve said this before, you do get rewarded in this game for being more ballsy. The more you hide and wait, the harder it is.

Hello Shoukapik! What Metzix did there in the vent at 1:34:20 is called a camera break. As the name implies, it breaks your camera which will allow you to peek grab something like a save station prompt you otherwise wouldn't be able to reach. The process for this camera break may look complicated but once you've practiced it a couple times, it's all just muscle memory: Important is that you are not full health otherwise you won't be able to activate the medkit. 1.) Hotkey Flare and Medkit 2.) Start lighting flare but cancel with peek (hold peek) 3.) Switch to Medkit 4.) Start using medkit by holding use 5.) Let go of peek 6.) Let go of use 7.) Press peek I advice you to practice it first on the ground before trying it out in the vent. yes there is a reason for it, so when we hold forward, right, sprint and tap crouch every half second we can run completely silent which is huge in this game ;)

I managed to finish the game first time in expert mode without diying, now i have to die with the alien and don't kill anyone... And question, im doing the platine. Do i have to restart from the beggining or just restart the chapter with humans? (I thought tazer was not a lethal weapon, i was so angry ^^') Btw gg nice run 🤘
I don’t know but I can take at least two shots. Of course, this only works if you have full health. If you already take damage once and didn’t heal, then one shot will kill you. Also, gas and other things can slowly do damage. I don’t know if it’s different for ps3 and pc but I’m playing it on ps4 and I can take two shots.

I don't know the exact info on this game or what it allows, but I'd guess the category allows use of minor glitches that are used to just shave off time scraps- aka, as long as they don't break the game open (or, for example, skip entire chapters, or skip important game data points, like picking up certain key items) they're allowed. Again, idk the exact info on what's allowed, but I'm sure the speedrun site shows what minor glitches are allowed in the glitchless category (:

Too bad its impossible to do that quiet/strafing while running on consoles. It makes a speed run much slower bc you have to slow crouch. Also, there are moments where the video has been cut, like in M10, where you go to a door and then it cuts to another door with a lock on it and you're removing the lock. I don't know if you've modded the game or just straight up cheated, but your times are definitely not correct.

the reason why we use italian language (voice) is bc it saves around 30 seconds compared to english ;)

The guys in Medical patrol the area, so I think it's less that they're random and more that where they are must depend on when exactly you get there.

its called silent running or psycho running, you sprint while strafing right and press crouch every 0.5s approximately
