Thank God for the young and the healthy. I was 41 in 03 when Isabel knocked so many trees down on us in virginia. I cut trees for a week just to get out of my neighborhood. I don't believe I could do it now. I pray to Jesus each day to watch over us all and to guide us through this time on earth.

In the aftermath of Helene, benefit from my misfortune and do not compound your problems: beware of an outfit called “Samaritan’s Purse’. These people showed up in my neighborhood in NJ after Superstorm Sandy offering to help. I was away at the time and my wife let them in. The end result was over $10,000 in property stolen over a couple day period. SP disclaimed any liability and said they really didn’t do any background on their volunteers and didn’t even have records of who they were. So proceed accordingly.

that's what storm and rain bands are...they are on the outer edges of the storm systems related to the tropical depressions/storms and hurricanes, and they hit before the "actual" trop. storm/hurricane does (in quotes because it's all part of the same system, but can hit days before depending on the size). Helene was 400+ miles across, so the storm bands from that system were very far reaching before the central hurricane (then tropical storm) hit.

So I have an observation here, the governor a democrat cut off only got a few words in, why was he cut off, had he been a republican they would’ve let him speak. Thats not right, that’s being raciest I know it’s about the damage that was done ? If you didn’t want him speaking then you should’ve cut that whole segment out!
