    Sorry about the roll cage mishap! Here are the links to the most helpful roll cage documents I found:

    Way hey she’s looking ‘arrow straight’ now 👍 That was a great idea with the conduit pipe for initial mocking up oh and thanks for the mention buddy 🤩
    I know you’re a week ahead of us following your progress but I’ll email you some more cage pics and further details tomorrow which might help further. In the meantime it’s another Sunday tomorrow and Sunday’s mean Sanding 🥴😅
    P.S. I’ve got a spare new set of front fender gaskets if you want them (they are 993 type but will fit just fine). If you reply to my email with your address I’ll post them over to you Monday. It is critical you install them for the early cars before you do any final alignment/filling work as they do unfortunately push the fenders out a little further than we’d like to think which for obvious reasons presents problems during final assembly 👍

    Thanks for the high-quality commentary on roll cages down below... Y'all are contributing in a productive and positive way, and I appreciate it...

    Love the progress Tom. That's a great idea using the 3/4 conduit before committing to the actual material for the cage. Geometry is not one of my strong points. Your making it look easy! See ya on the the next one.

      Thanks Russ, I have a feeling I'll be using lots of conduit on this mock up project. Take care!

    Enjoying your vlogs, only just got on board with them! Stick with it, my build is weeks from completion now after 11 years, so persistence is definitely the key.

    Thanks for the door fitment tips. I'm fighting with that now. Your comment will have me revisit one of the doors.

      Cool, An earlier video showed me twisting the door frame with a BFH or dumbbell to be exact. I need to watch your chassis level video. That was you right?
      Here's the brute force door alignment vid, ha ha.

    Which rubber kit did you buy?

      @GarageTimeAutoResto  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Andy, I didn't buy a kit. I only got this trunk seal from URO.

    What do you mean by planar? Does that mean that no bends on the vertical sections is allowed?

    • @GarageTimeAutoResto
      @GarageTimeAutoResto  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      So, one set of rules says 4 bends max totalling 180 deg. Another set says that 4 bends are allowed but they need to be in same plane. All pics I've seen have everything in one plane. Rather than bending the bar back to follow the B pillar it's safer to keep it more vertical.

    • @Royalerp31m
      @Royalerp31m 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My interpretation of the rule is you get up to 2 90 degree bends at the corners to go down to the floor and if you can’t lay it flat on the ground it is not in spec. That said, it varies by classification too. Open cockpit formula cars are allowed a bolt on headrest/rollbar but must have a front hoop that with driver in the car the drivers helmet is below the line from top hoop to bottom hoop.

      Dave Harris Wow, this is complicated stuff! Lol

    • @Royalerp31m
      @Royalerp31m 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      fg jf it is. Having raced in multiple organizations and multiple classes I’ve found the rules vary by organization and class so much that when you change from one to another it may cause pain. I’m pretty sure you could never make anything other than a pure stock car meet all the rules for everyone.

    • @GarageTimeAutoResto
      @GarageTimeAutoResto  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Royalerp31m That's what I'm discovering as well. The main hoop should lay flat unlike my mock-up.

      I've seen it and its good info. He went with the FIA specs I believe with 1.75" tubing. I'll go with 1.5" here in the US. I'm probably not going to run both diagonal bars either.
