    Yes, it's Cher. And one of her friends is Linda Hamilton.
    His best (and most theatrical) videos are Michael Bay's spectacular works for Objects In The Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are and Rock & Roll Dreams Come Through. Both have people you'll recognize in the video...one with connection to Linda Hamilton.

  • @aaradia
    @aaradia 2 ปีที่แล้ว +42

    You mean Jim Steinman! If you want the pinnacle of his theatrical aspect with both the video production and his music, the next song should be his comeback song "I would do anything for love (but I won't do that.) HAS to be the official video, just trust me on this! The "drama nerd" in you will absolutely love that video!

    I was 40 years old and hard core country when I met my 31 year old husband. The first song he ever played for me from his collection was "You Took the Words Right Out of my Mouth". Well, I hated it....LOL. Could not understand a word Meat said and it made my head hurt. Well, after many times of hearing his songs on the cassette player in his truck, I began to understand the words and began to love Meat Loaf. I became a huge fan of his and have most of his albums. I never got to see him live but that was on my bucket list. I am so glad you guys love him too.

    You would like his big comeback song from the early 1990's. It was a power ballad called ' I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That). Very 'theatrical' with a 'Beauty & the Beast' concept. It went #1 in 28 countries, and was his only #1 song on the Billboard charts.

  • @BadBeepBoy
    @BadBeepBoy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +22

    This music video is actually a part of an entire musical feature film - titled 'Dead Ringer' after the album - starring Meat Loaf in two roles. The plot is about Meat Loaf going on a tour and being driven halfway crazy by his managers and producers and such, while a nerdy mentally handicapped man who looks and sounds exactly like him follows him around the country trying to meet him. The "music videos" for the songs on the album are mostly fantasy sequences from the film where Meat Loaf is imagining or dreaming something.
    The movie is really obscure and never got a wide release but the whole thing is here on TH-cam.

    Meatloaf can do it all, Power Rock, Ballads, story telling and he's a great actor!!

    Meat and Cher both grew up in the Dallas / Fort Worth area. In the late 1980s the two of them appeared on a UK chat show hosted by Terry Wogan. The second Meat appeared in the studio, he and Cher were just bouncing off each other and Meat was so talkative that poor Terry couldn't get a word in edgeways! It was broadcast on the 1st April, so I think someone at the BBC was pulling an April Fool's joke on Wogan, having those two big personalities on the same show together!

    Would you please consider reacting to a Hawaiian singer named Israel Kamakawiwo'ole? He did a medley of What a Wonderful World/ Somewhere over the Rainbow in a single take as a demo that is legendary ( back in 1993 I believe.) Some people have chopped it into two separate songs but it's most uplifting in it's original combined form.

    I Would Do Anything for Love, classic Meatloaf. Meatloaf was what I call an overachiever, he did it all. Some people just have all much talent they just gotta turn it out. Thanks for this memory.Smile

    Loved Cher since "I Got You Babe". Heard "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" and became a die-hard Meatloaf fan. The two together, . . . I'm done.

    Yes, great song and video. Love his theatrics and songs. You really should watch on your movie reactions Cher in Moonstruck which is a fantastic movie and Meatloaf in Rocky Horror Picture Show.. Talk about rock opera!!!

    Oh Cher definitely knows how to bring it with the acting considering she's done several movies just like Dolly Parton has.

    I saw the title, and i was just, yeah! And my next thought was, hmm I wonder if they know this is with Cher? Two powerhouse. vocalists with a complete love for drama and theatrical flair, how could it lose? Amber, i am like you though, one of his songs starts and I cannot sit still. Love seeing your reactions, always a bright spot in my day.

    Do, if you haven't already, "I Will Do Anything For Love" is a must see by Meat Loaf. It's one of his best. Another one to check out is "You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth."

    Wow, love Meatloaf's consistent intensity! :o) Great back and forth between him and Cher! So fun. Sometime check out the fierce back and forth between Elton John and Millie Jackson performing "Act of War."

    When Meatloaf was not able to record the written and ready to go follow up album to Bat Out of Hell, Jim Steinman did the lead vocals and released it as Bad for Good. A college area fav of mine. A few of the songs were to come back on later Meatloaf albums. In the tradition of great Meatloaf duets, check out Dance In My Pants, with Jim and Karla DeVito. Karla is the singer in the original Paradise video. You could also react to Bad for Good, Jim or Meatloaf's version. Also the very quick Love and Death and an American Guitar.

    This is without a doubt one of the greatest unknown meatloaf songs ever.. I still have my copy on vinyl. Yes it's Cher. Jim Steinmann is the man behind meatloaf. Listen to his solo cd. Check out the song bad for good..

      I wouldn't say it's unknown as iirc it was a top 10 hit in many countries. Everything Is Permitted or Peel Out on the album are usually overlooked Meatloaf tracks

    The gentleman who is responsible for many of Meatloaf's songs is Jim Steinman, who just recently passed away. He has been called the Wagner of rock composers. Steinman did a solo album called "Bad for Good." You might want to check out: "Rock & Roll Dreams Come Through", "Dance in my Pants" and the title song "Bad for Good". Pure perfection. Also, this song to which you're reacting, "Dead Ringer" is, in my opinion one of Meatloaf's best songs, but you hardly ever hear about. With both Meatloaf and Cher, you can't beat it!

    Meatloaf was in the original Rocky Horror Show on Broadway in 1973 and in the movie Rocky Horror Picture Show in 1975; and in the musical Hair on Broadway.

    Jim Steinman wrote the Bat Out of Hell album. What a team, I grew up with this album.
    I totally transformed my Mums taste in music, she grew up with me! She loved all the different rock music I played. Aerosmith were her favourites. 😁

    Hi Guys, I love this song, it's from his 1982 album Dead Ringer, it's Jim Steinman you're referring to, we sadly lost Jim last year, in January this year we sadly lost the legendary Meat Loaf at the age of 74, he was actually planning a new album and tour before he sadly passed away 🙏🙏
    Check out I'd Do Anything For Love (But i Won't Do That), the music video for it is absolutely incredible!! 😀 😀
    RIP Jim Steinman 🙏🙏
    RIP Meat Loaf 🙏 🙏

    Is GREAT to watch folks that get Meatloaf's Brilliance at theatricality & Showmanship. You don't go to a Meatloaf "concert". It is a Storytelling. It is reading a phenomenally good book written in music. Thank you for making these ML vids & reminding a tired old man that he's not the last of his kind ;) lol

    Meatloaf was the first rock act I got into, back in 1982. I used to call myself Mr Meatloaf as a nickname - well, it was better than the fare doled out to me by others, which is not to say it was bad, but I just like to be in charge of my own PR. Incidentally, the musical genius behind Meatloaf is... well, Meatloaf, but his long time friend and collaborator Jim Steinman was a genius too.
