I just liked Bernie more by watching this. It's a good thing to go into details and explain things to kids because kids are smarter than many adults think they are. They are capable of understanding more abstract ideas. The fact that Bernie treats them seriously just shows how he respects them as equal human beings.

This is exactly how I see it. Sanders (and others too) were hip to the problems when they started and kept growing worse and people like Sanders kept sounding the warnings but so many didn't listen or didn't listen strongly enough. I wish I'd latched onto him and others like him a long time ago. I know Kucinich is/was a similar person and I followed him but I don't believe he ever gained the following Sanders did (probably for several reasons). We've let this get ahead of us, and usually for financial self interest over concern for all of us. I predict even if things do start to get better that many will get their halfway decent jobs, live their lives, and let things go again until it gets run into the ground again. The fight shouldn't ever stop though, imho.

When people refer to Bernie as having had the same values his entire adult life as though this is strange, I suppose someone must tell the world that his adult supporters were working had on the same issues that far back as well. In my case, my progressive values took root in the late 70s when I was a teenager. Albeit, I lived in Vermont then. Doh! In all fairness, most of my friends, who are from all over the states and globe, have been progressive for many decades. Moreover, there were progressives going back to the previous century. We come from a long line of people fighting for human rights and all that those rights entail. It's no wonder Bernie has so much support. At least one of us had to eventually go into national politics in a state that would elect someone of our ilk. Glad Bernie did.

Bank of America raised it to $18, and will increase it to $20 next year. He recently got the vote passed succesfully in the Senate to halt the Yemen War. And he's done lots of work to strengthen unions and defend veterans while in Congress. He pulled his state of Vermont up from shambles into one of the wealthiest states in the country with the best education and job stability. Unfortunately for Bernie, he's outnumbered by congressmen who are bought, so it's not like his bills could pass that easily. But since his growing popularity, the people have spoken. He's our people's champ. And due to his growing influence, we see him getting bills passed more frequently. He'll be an even bigger force to reckon with in office #BernTheEstablishment

This is exactly how I see it. Sanders (and others too) were hip to the problems when they started and kept growing worse and people like Sanders kept sounding the warnings but so many didn't listen or didn't listen strongly enough. I wish I'd latched onto him and others like him a long time ago. I know Kucinich is/was a similar person and I followed him but I don't believe he ever gained the following Sanders did (probably for several reasons). We've let this get ahead of us, and usually for financial self interest over concern for all of us. I predict even if things do start to get better that many will get their halfway decent jobs, live their lives, and let things go again until it gets run into the ground again. The fight shouldn't ever stop though, imho.

I am a huge Bernie Sanders fan. I’ve probably watched this a dozen times and I’ve never found it offensive. I think most people realize they are watching a comedy news show and won’t take everything literal. When I’m having a bad day, I watch this again and laugh.
Straightforward, no games, no platitudes, just issues and real solutions to real problems and that’s my man Bernie!

When people refer to Bernie as having had the same values his entire adult life as though this is strange, I suppose someone must tell the world that his adult supporters were working had on the same issues that far back as well. In my case, my progressive values took root in the late 70s when I was a teenager. Albeit, I lived in Vermont then. Doh! In all fairness, most of my friends, who are from all over the states and globe, have been progressive for many decades. Moreover, there were progressives going back to the previous century. We come from a long line of people fighting for human rights and all that those rights entail. It's no wonder Bernie has so much support. At least one of us had to eventually go into national politics in a state that would elect someone of our ilk. Glad Bernie did.

Bank of America raised it to $18, and will increase it to $20 next year. He recently got the vote passed succesfully in the Senate to halt the Yemen War. And he's done lots of work to strengthen unions and defend veterans while in Congress. He pulled his state of Vermont up from shambles into one of the wealthiest states in the country with the best education and job stability. Unfortunately for Bernie, he's outnumbered by congressmen who are bought, so it's not like his bills could pass that easily. But since his growing popularity, the people have spoken. He's our people's champ. And due to his growing influence, we see him getting bills passed more frequently. He'll be an even bigger force to reckon with in office #BernTheEstablishment
