Salaam kashem bahi. I was in your situation last year when I went desh for only 4 days. Alhamdulillah, i manged to get my digital birth certificate organised in that time. Next visit or even from uk Bangladeshi embassy we can get our ID card
Wa alaikum assalaam bhaiya, You managed to do it in 4 days! That's amazing. I was told off for leaving it so late and going to visit other parts of Bangladesh. I thought it would be a simple process, but i was wrong and left it until too late. I need to go back and start the ID Card process, which I'm told is going to be more straightforward. They just need fingerprints and photo. That's it.
Now very complicated and need parental details because in last two decades million over Myanmar Rohinga slipped through loopholes and obtain full Bangladesh nationality. To prevent this parents details made necessary now. However you or your son daughter born here and painstaking process, one should give time and efforts to have Bangladesh nationality. It's safe always.
Ah, that's interesting. I always thought the Rohingya issue was more recent. Didn't realise it was an issue over the last 20 years. Thank you for that information. So before this, didn't Bangladesh used to need parent details? I always thought it was a tradition to link parents in everything. Please educate me on this. 🙏🏽
@YTAug2030 hijrah to Bangladesh may become a serious consideration in years to come. I'm not a fan of the Gulf countries where many have made hijrah to as you never quite feel at home there (I'm told). I've a vlog discussion with a UK Expat from Qatar which touches upon this subject.
i am looking to do this, on my last visit i managed to get my birth certificate and wasn't that hard a relative got for me without any hassle. Alhamdullilah
Do you know or can you find out, for a person born in the UK, can they have a Bangladeshi birth certificate with place of Birth stating they was born in the UK?
Yes, you can. As long as one or both of your parents were Bangladeshi born. You can apply for this NID for yourself using the embassy services in London. Feel free to ask any other questions because I will try to get them answered for you, and this is important for connecting people with their heritage.
@YTAug2030 yes, a friend of mine has done this. Simply devote some time to start this process for yourself. Make the first move and then it will start falling into place.
