      @@generalhyde007 I dunno about the Bucks being the "best team", best team in the east, sure, but their style of play is definitely very interesting to watch and they are very well drilled as a team. This tells us 2 things; 1. The coach is very good at devising the teams playing style and drilling his players on their roles in the system, and 2. The system is built around the strengths and weaknesses of their best player, Giannis. It's the same with my Lakers right now. Like they go out on the court with the mindset of racking up high stats, and that's the name of the game today. It wasn't like that 20 years ago. The stats were a byproduct of just playing the game to win. Everything has become so analytical today, a result of the internet and detailed analysis.

      European basketball is really looked down upon (as are most european things/people by the Americans) but Luka and Giannis are typical products of it and it shows in their progress. In Europe we don't care who has the biggest muscles or who's smashed the basket with a dunk. We don't care whether you win by half a point by shooting free throws over the last 5 minutes because coaches play strategically to force free throws. We don't care about drama, superteams and all that crap. It's only about the game. And in Europe you gotta play defence. It's the first thing you learn when you pick up a ball.

      NST 5 what the balls that just makes no sense the reason why players get switched around so much in the NBA is because there is more money involved and as we have seen there is more star power in NBA then ever before and teams have a limit on how much money they can spend on players, like the same would apply in Europe if it was as big and had as much star power the NBA has

    • @rscas
      @rscas 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah, I agree. NBA is the best league about basketball. We can't contest it.
      If a real dream team made from regular NBA teams against any country, I think there will be nothing to say but just to look at the score.
      Somehow, because NBA is at he top, other countries get inspired by. Even Doncic said that James was his model. OK, generation clash. The firs begins his career, the King is about to pass the crown.
      Maybe in some years, because of generations in E.U or the world looking up to NBA they will all learn and teach back how the things are to level up their games.
      All is about culture in collective sport. If it's important for the soft political power to invest in, any country can stand before an american dream team.
      Somehow it's like football (not the american one) america is far away from E.U

People get to score 30, 40 even 50 points in a game because they are skilled and being left alone. Its like if an nba player was to play against a 11 year old on defense. They can just shoot an open shot. The reason its not easier to win is because thats what everyone is doing. Everyone is scoring so high that scoring high doesn't do much difference.

      i means back then as long as u can beat the other person 1 on 1 u have a clear path to the rim since the other players can't double team you or wait for u at the rim without getting a foul,thats why in the 2000 they allowed "illegal defense",the 2000s team were scoring way less than ever before but after steph curry does his things,team adapted and start shooting the ball more often instead of just try to 1 on 1 then end up getting double teamed at the rim.If they add back the no illegal defense rule then guys like giannis,lebron,durant,.. will dominate even more since let be honest,to overpower those guys u need more than 1 defender.Hand checking however is a different story.

      Everyone says that, but it's completely wrong. In that "time" teams couldn't play zone defense so they always had to play man to man on Jordan. etc. Once they removed that rule, Jordan's numbers dropped and he, like many other superstars of that time, complained that scoring was too difficult. Know your history. So most likely, those guys would only do as well as the best playing right now. They would NOT be dropping 60 a night. They would be on par with Harden, Curry, LeBron, etc

      @G C I'm not trying to take away from Jordan's greatness. He is most likely the best player to play, but I don't think he would be doing something "other worldly", like scoring 60 a night, under today's rules. Yes, teams could double Jordan, but that would leave someone like Kerr or Pippen open and it wasn't sustainable for an entire game. Most fans today have no clue that zone defense was illegal in his time. Hand checking plays a role, but not as much as I think the old guys would like us to believe. The NBA has evolved more towards a position-less game and a lot of the older bigs would have no place in it--but that's a different discussion.
