I really love watching Chris . I literally didn’t know anything about painting. 5 years I went on TH-cam to learn something new. I was always a blue collar job person. I watched and watched . Trail and errors but those are also the best learners. I opened my company 5 years ago from watching you from the business aspect to the actual skill . Now I have over 3k clients and growing . I’ve painted so many homes and businesses. All my clients love my work . I always tell the story of me watching Chris . Learning his tactics and just added my personal flavor to make it more comfortable for me. At the end everything supposed to look the same. Thanks so much Chris for the evening 😃.

@@richardwilliams6256 still. That’s 1.65 jobs per day provided each client is a job. Whether it’s an awning or a deck or a door. Weekends included, no vacation days. 365x5 and divide 3000 by that number.

I am 72 and painting my parents house for the 2nd time in 18 years and I am jealous of your spray painting and wish that is what I was doing on this house!!! The amount of time you save is just tremendous as well as the wear and tear on your body!!! This truly is the only way to go!!! Many years ago I dated a young man who was a spray painter and he painted my Mothers living room, with nothing down on the carpeting, at all! My mother threatened to kill him if he got any paint or overspray on the floor and he told her not to worry, by the time it hit the floor, it would be dry and a vacuum could suck it up. He was right! He had been painting for a number of years and knew what he was doing, but it sure scared us!
I was taught by my mother that every time I paint there must always be 1-2 coats of primer all over everything. You don't seem to do that, so is it really necessary? Also, my parents home is 70 years old and it has some exterior flaking or chipping on the south side of the house due to excessive sun and heat. I am wondering if I am overdoing the sanding and prepping part of this job. My Mom was a perfectionist and I feel like I may be wasting time that is not necessary and wish you could address, when prepping is needed and when you are overdoing it! Thus far I have only seen you use caulk from a tube for prepping but I have a few holes from nails and screws and a couple breaks or dents and I sure wish you would address fixing those issues before priming and paint as well. Although I have done household painting for myself for many years, we need to be reminded or at least I do!

I just finished painting my entire house! It's a tiny place but the preparation took so long (sanding scraping, repairing rotted wood and termite damage, masking, etc.), it also was my first time using an airless sprayer. The Idaho painter videos helped me immensely. This guys gives excellent tips that will save you time and money. You can tell he's very experienced and runs an efficient business that translates to saving dollars and time for us that are learning. Thanks!!

I am watching this video, and others like it, because every time I hire someone to work on my house, I have to go in behind them and fix things they messed up or failed to do. So from now on, I do everything myself. It takes the same amount of time for me to do the entire job right the first time doing it alone, as it does to figure out everyone else's screw-ups, and fix them. Thank you for making this possible.

So, you mentioned wax bleed. Never heard of that before. My wife and I just decided to break into the business ourselves. I'm learning a LOT watching your videos.....EVERY SINGLE DAY. When I hit my first real job (painting for a friend right now) I don't wanna walk on site and have the homeowner see "newbie" written all over me. 😆 So, there seems to be more that I don't know than I do know....and finding out more unknowns every day. Almost feels like I need to "go back to school" before I ever paint for my first real customer. Grateful for the tips....nervous about screwing up.

I have a trick that I use when removing lights to make sure that I wire them up correctly when re-installing, and that is, using different color wire nuts. I use blue, yellow, and orange, and I put the corresponding color on the wire attached to the light as well, making it dummy proof. It has saved me a lot of time wiring and re-wiring. Try it and see if it works for you too.

Great video, Chris, I've been using PPG Timeless for some time now, it by far one of my top paints I work with, I typically have to get it at the Home Depot since it closer to my location but PPG paint store does carry it but may be a good drive since there usually only one store per town, and If your a contractor you do get a better price point at the HD store they usually have a PPG paint representative. Thanks again always enjoy watching another pro in the paint world.

I always tell my guys the 4 foot ladder is the most dangerous ladder on the truck. Its like you said, you tend to be over confident with it and climb up to high, or set it on uneven ground. Its sure nice to hear someone else say it. Also, I'm in Tucson AZ we have PPG stores down here. I would choose to use Dunn Edwards over PPG just because I'm more familiar with the products they have not that PPG is bad paint its pretty much the same with all paint manufacturers you have your high end paints with 25 year plus warranties, and then you have your discounted production paints that in all honesty shouldn't exist. unfortunately PPG has one of those products and under direction from my boss at the company I was working for at the time I repainted a high end retirement community with it and I am completely ashamed of what that place looks like today. That paint didn't hold up at all!!
