Got the radio back already, Excited to see how nice the radio sounds.
Will be turning down that echo for sure, that is way to much.
Thank you for all your work, and information for using the amp.

I purchased one of these to use for Amateur Radio use, as they come with 10 and 12 meters.
The receiver has a weird overdriven almost distorted sound, on strong signals ?
And the C.W. seems pretty much a joke, as the first character sent, is typically missed, then has strange tone before it settles .
Is there anything you can do to fix these issues, in an Amateur Radio only rig ?
Thanks in advance for your reply !

Technically no because they are built a certain way.
They're very popular for the CB market.
I still enjoy the radios but for a amateur use I would say it is passable but probably not the best option.
Some 10 meter models have quirks and whatnot but I still enjoy using them.
If you're familiar with the Alinco DX10 that was a similar radio.
It had some quirks but it was still fun to use.

Maybe I should have known better, but I have never really followed these, " Import " radios, I believe they called them ?
And I led with my chin on this one, and paid the price with disappointment !
And the assumption I went off, were the similar radios, like the HR 2600 / 2510, HTX 10 etc.
Where they at least worked !
And I guess it was foolish of me to believe they wouldn't go backwards !
      But boy have they !
At least in my opinion !
I have made some contacts on 12 meter Phone, as well as 10.
So I can't say they don't work, but for me, a real disappointment, especially for the price !
I'm in the process of having a couple of
HR 2600's done, where you remove the conductive glue, and recap !
So hopefully when all is done, I'll have a couple,
" Phoenix " radios out of the ashes !
      Thanks for your reply !
