Leslie. Most of the reason this interview is so good is due to the preparation you did. You prepared dozens of questions that were/are on the minds of your viewers. Thank you.
There’s a pattern of people not believing women when they say they’re affected by something, and it takes seeing it for yourself to change your mind. It’s a shame, but I’m glad this surgeon has seen it for himself.
Dr Rankin did my surgery! I’m so happy with the result, and I am feeling better! I am 8 weeks post op, and I’ve been strict about not overdoing, and I know that has contributed to a successful recovery. I highly recommend Dr Rankin. I traveled across the country because of his expertise and the voices of women who trusted him and had great results. I can now have my voice join with the thousands of women who have had a successful explant surgery, and embracing our bodies the way we were beautifully made. (In our cases, restored to the way we were intended to be made) Thank you Dr Rankin, for your mission to not only helping women with a positive surgical result, but also to regain overall health! I’m so grateful to have found you, and look forward to my body healing as I detox from those Killer Boobies that we’re inside of me.
Hi! I'm considering him for my explant. Are you still satisfied with your results? Would you go back to him again? Thanks! :) hope youre recovering well still!
@@e.krams7777 absolutely! Dr Rankin knows what he is doing! He won’t leave a trace of capsule behind. He’s also a perfectionist when it comes to final result aesthetically. The IV sedation is a God send! I didn’t have any nausea post op.
I have never met with Dr. Rankin but I respect him. I hope more plastic surgeons learn to become like him. GOOD JOB Dr. Rankin and thank you for being honest.
Ive had mine since i was 22. I am now 51. Now one of mine has ruptured several months ago. I am in so much pain but cant get them out because i dont have the money to get them out. I cant work anymore because of it. My headaches are starting to get worse. My implant has moved under my arm and into my back. I can tell that i have a really hard shell around mine because i can feel the crumbled shell jabbing me under my muscles. Very painful. And the brain fog and not being able to be productive doing anything has brought my life to a complete halt. Im just existing. I dont know what to do or where to turn to ask
@@WhittneyChambers I am just seeing your comment only due to someone else asking me a question. You should be able to can get the one ruptured removed and redone on the ruptured one for free. You need to contact your surgen who did the surgery I think though or go to another surgen with the implant card that has what type you did etc. Please apply for Care Credit card to get the other one removed. I hope all works out for you. Prayers for you.
Great content! The thought never crossed my mine either re having to have them removed. Do you have a video on silicone gel (gummy bear like) implants? Mine was part of a 10 year study. They have been in for 20 yrs and know on wood, no known issues. When I last asked re the need to have them removed do to age, I was told "if they're not broke, don't fix them." I imagine they are melded into my chest by now, although they still look good. I'd love more insight!
I am 2 weeks out from having my implants removed & had a lift too, they look good. I feel better. I had them for 17 years and my left one was ruptured. It was time to take them out,.
My silicone implants are under the muscle, I was just told. I’ve had them since 2014. Iam seeking Explant and en bloc. Most surgeons , will not perform en bloc with submuscular implants. I know it is more extensive, and I need a skilled surgeon. Do you recommend anyone in the Atlanta area? I may have to travel to have this surgery. It’s overwhelming .
What techniques/options are there for those of us with prophylactic mastectomy? I currently have over the muscle (thank God!) tissue expanders in , and set to get implants in a few weeks at Mayo clinic. What if i have changed my mind…i have now expanded and i don’t feel i can ask my surgeon these concerns/questions and be taken seriously.
Just explanted today 🙏🏼 my ace bandage and bandages are soooooo tight though. Hurts so bad🥹 disclaimer: my surgery was NOT done by this surgeon in the video!
Just saw this video and its so informative. I see the Dr. mentions that with silicone implants they need to be changed more often than saline... does anyone know how often saline would need to get replaced?
Most do find that their breasts "fluff" naturally over the first six months. My personal experience is that they did indeed do just that. It also depends on how sick you are already. A lift is incredibly hard on the body just like the explant surgery- if you combine the two it could potentially be a much harder recovery.
if you don't suffer from BII, do you need to take out capsule? It seems so invasive. I want explant surgery since i am 55 and do not want more surgery in the future.
The FDA has now announced that the capsule does cause a certain kind of cancer. This is for all implants it’s something in the silicone lining and rubbing and leaking into the capsule. All implants have this lining even though the implants could be different. Also all now if you get them you have to sign BII warning paperwork. Apparently they discovered bits of silicone leak out even when it has not ruptured
Dr Rankin is in Florida. There are great doctors that utilize the en bloc and total capsulectomy method. You can look at www.healingbreastimplantillness.com for a list of doctors.
That is a tough question to answer because every woman with BII has different symptoms, different types of implants, and the length of time they have them in. My personal Dr (Dr Self) kept track of all the women he helped and he said that on average a woman usually regained much of her health on average one month per year they had them in. I have had mine out for 18 months and I can say that I have regained my health and life.
Hi everyone!! Wondering if anyone is going through this. I got my breast implants removed july 10th, 2020 due to a capsular contracture, it was making me sick and causing a lot of fatigue. Anyway, it's more than a year now and I must wear a bra at all times or else my breast start to hurt. It have to keep them tight and struggle finding the perfect bra to avoid the pain. Ugh!

How long does it take between consultation and removal? Cost?

Mine originally were tuberous hence the implants
On removal I’m definitely getting a lift
To be left with saggy empty breasts would be horrific for me

Hi there! Does the breast create collagen after explant/lift surgery and would that explain hard lumps (but only on one side) 19 weeks post- op?

Well I thought I'd found a doctor that was going to remove them. After a MRI and monogram, he told me to go home and think about it a few months

You hear of women not liking their breast augmentation all the time, Leslie 🤦🏻♀️
At a certain age the implants don’t match the aging process in the rest of the body
This was very informative, thank you Dr. Rankin. I would suggest you change the name of your podcast. Killer Boobies sounds very negative. 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
