The crowds booing was a bit unnecessary before rune made the gesture, yes it is a violation for prolonged time but there are moments where you are in severe pressure
I'm glad that someone like Rune is around to outrage all the proper people. In the 70s and early 80s, he would have been considered one of the nice guys, since he doesn't actually aim for his opponent's head on smashes and just has the odd tantrum. Now if a guy hits a net chord and doesn't bow down in apology to his opponent, or gives a solid but cool handshake versus a slobbering hugfest, y'all clutch your pearls and head to the nearest fainting couch. Love Sinner, the iceman. Also love Rune, the enfant terrible. They both want to win more than they want to breathe, and that's great entertainment.
Rune is one of the most clutch players and so fun to watch. Down 40-0 with the crowd against him and gets unsportsmanlike warning, and still wins the game. Gets an out ball called in, costing him the point, still saves 2 match points and wins the set. That was wild. Sinner is clearly the better player though. If Rune can improve his flawed forehand, he will be back in the top 5 for sure.
LOL Rune won that game BECAUSE he voluntarily created the chaos, BECAUSE he was 0-40. He wanted to disrupt Sinner momentum and breath, he always act like a clown that when he's losing.
@@eFMe-fk1xh You know it was 0-30 when then happened and then proceeded to lose the next point to go down to 0-40 right? Clearly you don't but proceed to make dumb comments anyway. Literally he had all the odds stacked against him and still clutched out the game. He is a great player and didn't deserve the hate or the warning from the umpire. You can keep being a biased guy though idc.
I love Rune’s forehand on clay. He really deals with high balls and spin well, and the rest of his game is obviously great on any surface. Rune’s physicality was fairly impressive here too. I think at this level he can make an RG SF or F and win a clay Masters this year, but it depends on the field. Alcaraz and Sinner are just so good right now. Sinner was clearly the better player this whole match. He had break points at 5-5 in the second on Rune’s serve, had two match points in the tiebreak, and he won 20 more points in the match. Sinner was just so consistent from the back of the court whereas Rune had to dig deep into his bag to win points. Rune did very well to give himself chances to win but it’s not too surprising he fell short in the end considering this easily could’ve been a straight set Jannik win. Sinner on clay is still a force. He had an injury last year that derailed his clay season and many counted him out, but I knew those heavy ground strokes and the lateral movement would serve him very well on clay. He probably will win a Masters, maybe in 2 days, and go deep at RG. The only thing is Alcaraz is probably a bad matchup for Sinner here, Djokovic might be able to grind him down, and guys like Rune, Tsitsipas, and Zverev kinda close the gap on Sinner on clay. I genuinely think the current clay court field is stronger than the hard court field.
At 04:58 you see one of the best improvements of Sinner..he is able to read other player movement ..this is such a gift that only Novak has at the moment and maybe Carlito..
Hats off to Sinner for keeping the level extremely high for so long. But also congrats to Rune, that was a better than expected performance after playing almost 5 hours yesterday. The scheduling was terrible for him. He should have played last today. He obviously ran out of steam in the third set, if they played later it could have been even tighter. Still a great match with more winners than unforced errors, hopefully there will be extended highlights at some point.
Kind of an asshole, Rune. Tells the umpire :"... So if I tell you to be quiet, it's unsportsman-like? ", after getting violation. He knows exactly what he's doing. And saying. Lost the match though.

You have no idea how Rune kept Sinner to a 3 set match? Really? 2:17 is the reason why the game went to 3 sets. Rune created chaos all by himself just to breath and distract Sinner momentum. A trashy person he is, per usual. And he lost against a real player, per usual.
Good match. Sinner is just unstoppable this year ….
Am I the only one seeing Sinner as like Björn Borg? Ice like mentality, moves well and groundstrokes are sublime
Me too!
Hai ragione! E' freddo come Borg.
Ma non so se riuscirà a eguagliare la sua carriera. 5 Wimbledon di fila ritirandosi a 26 anni.
I think rune willbest the new big three in a 2 to 3 years. Got everything and play well all part of court and hitting the ball so early
Hi Tennis TV, TH-cam says video is 60fps, but definitely isn't. I've noticed this with your other videos too (including in your own app). Have you got something wrong with how these highlights videos are getting transcoded?
I can't remember Sinner not transforming 6 break points or 2 match points recently. Still, he made it. Great display of maturity against a player who can really annoy him
Huge fight between these two young stars!! But victory for Sinner this time again! 👏Rune keeps improving mentally, he maybe can be top 5 soon.🧠☝
Sinner really seems unbeatable at the moment
🇮🇹 THE ONE
Rune ha un enorme potenziale ..come pollo 🐔 2:26 😂
What a heater! These guys are just hammering the ball. Great match
I dont know, im from Denmark and i want to like Rune, but he is making it hard for me sometimes. Reality is he is a little bit of a crybaby at times
SINNER È UN GIOCATORE GLOBALE CON UN CARATTERE DANESE 😁 BENVENUTO NEI CAROTABOYS💙🎾
He was right in those times in this match, and the crowd wasn't great either.
The same feeling we Italians had with Fabio Fognini, an incredible talent never fully exploited and we had to support him despite his disputable behaviour...
@@DungxxHenin Monaco there are 80% of Italians in the crowd.. what do you expect they should support? When they will play in Copenhagen it will be the other way around!
And then if I pay I'm in free to root or to bhoo whoever I want !
Rune should stop to act like a spoiled brat..is not Nole !
Such a treat, Sinner vs Rune always delivers scintillating tennis.
Sinner amazing, unbeatable
Duro, pero la fuerza de jannik hizo la diferencia, ante un jugador muy similar a el, en lo mental... Bien 👏👏👏👏👍😜😁
Rune does anything he can not to be loved
My goodness was this stressful. Credit to Rune, the guy is so tenacious it’s annoyingly admirable.
Yeah, and with zero sportmanship
@@eFMe-fk1xhit’s insane how unlikeable he is. Risks never gaining a fan base such a poor attitude
@aboudtartir5060 pls on court, the tennis world so weird with alot man who even don;t know how to use the racquet but talk too much behind the keyboard.
I don’t know how he makes a tiniest gesture and people react like he just murdered a puppy or something 😶😶
Rune fought a great match this time, but he needs more competition at the highest level to be able to win these matches. Sinner's getting clay player?
Those 5+ hours of crazy tennis yesterday finally got the better of Rune. Well done, both!
Rune is becomming the master of tiebreaks
Son jeu rappelle un peu edberg. Bravo Sinner, humilité et beau mental.
Rune shouldn’t have gotten a warning for that hand chirping to the crowd
Yeah Novak does much worse, that was nothing.
The crowds booing was a bit unnecessary before rune made the gesture, yes it is a violation for prolonged time but there are moments where you are in severe pressure
Very nice to see rune lose again. Never gets boring
Runner cada vez que se enfrenta a jugadores de alto nivel del top 5 se le enfrían las ganas....aún le falta madurar a este muchacho
Jannik is a man with a mission, and I applaud him.
I also love Rune’s game, his fight, and his desire.
But he needs to get his mind right.
I remember many years ago, viewers were complaining that they couldn't see the ball during Monte Carlo. After HD came along, it's much better.
Rune playing five sets the previous day probably played a role in this loss
In the 70's bad boys were McEnroe and Connors, Rune could maybe shine there shoes
Rune, same drama as always. Great job Jannik!
The ball probably was not out. The umpire has seen the mark.
LOL Rune won that game BECAUSE he voluntarily created the chaos, BECAUSE he was 0-40. He wanted to disrupt Sinner momentum and breath, he always act like a clown that when he's losing.
@@matteorossi709 It literally showed a hawk-eye review of the ball after, and it was out... go watch the match before commenting.
@@michaelgaristo3785 Hawk-eye is far from infallible...
OMG! Sinner foresaw that Rune will play short at 4:58 and won the point. Amazing!
Very good match between two very good players. Congratulations
Bravi entrambi, ma Sinner ha mostrato un paio di 'attributi' in più...calma e concentrazione. Vai Jannik, go ahead!!
One of Sinner's problems with clay court season is that it's also pollen season, which doesn't go well with his allergies
looking forward to sinner V tsitsipas
At 04:58 you see one of the best improvements of Sinner..he is able to read other player movement ..this is such a gift that only Novak has at the moment and maybe Carlito..
A gentleman and a kid… let’s go Jannik
a gentleman who stole a point in the second set from a child hahaha
@@jakiydttevh, rune is incorrect.
Holger played 3 matches in few hours that's crazy
Rune had to risk it all and went all his way, and make his shows, otherwise it would have been 6-3 6-2-.. Sinner's just being solid
Sinner will be number one very very soon
Wish Rune had kept his nerve in the 3rd ... I love his spunk
