  • LIMITED EDITION SET! Only 1000 made in honor of the 150th Anniversary of the completion of the transcontinental railroad ceremony on May 10, 1869. The set comes with 2 amazing locomotives with sound. It is easy to set up and a great collector's item as well as a great starter set!
    This is the first time I have used DCC (I have been using old school DC for the longest). Really enjoy setting it up and being able to control both locomotives with one controller. Really neat!
    Here is a link to Trainworld's listing (could sell out fast): www.trainworld...
    Wee also got a couple of Thomas items:
    77011 Great Western Van: www.trainworld...
    77012: Sodor Fruit & Vegetable Van:

    Here is more information about the Transcontinental Set:
    "East meets West! History was made 150 years ago when the Transcontinental Railroad was completed in Promontory, Utah on May 10, 1869. A face-to-face meeting of two locomotives and the driving of silver and golden spikes to join the last two sections of track were the climax of the famous Golden Spike ceremony. Now you can celebrate this momentous event with the DCC sound-equipped Transcontinental train. This Limited Edition ready-to-run set has everything you need to get started in digital model railroading. It includes Bachmann’s exclusive, easy-to-use E-Z Command® digital system that lets you independently control the sound, speed, direction, and lighting of two decoder-equipped 4-4-0 commemorative locomotives. Relive all the sights and sounds of this historic meeting with the Transcontinental with Digital Sound!
    This digitally controlled train set features:
    • Collectors’ Card with an individual production number for this Limited Edition set (only 1000 sets produced)
    • DCC sound-equipped 4-4-0 American (Central Pacific #60 “Jupiter”) with wood tender and operating headlight
    • DCC sound-equipped 4-4-0 American (Union Pacific® #119) with coal tender and operating headlight
    • old-time coach (Central Pacific)
    • old-time combine (Union Pacific®)
    • E-Z Command® Control Center with wall pack and plug-in wiring
    • 56" x 38" oval of nickel silver E-Z Track®, including 12 pieces curved track, 4 pieces straight track, 1 terminal rerailer, 1 manual turnout - left, under-track magnet with brakeman figure, and 1 Hayes bumper
    • body-mounted E-Z Mate® couplers
    • illustrated instruction manual"

      They already released the 4-4-0's themselves retooling them for modern layout running and equipping them with DCC with Sound chipsets.

    As someone who has loved trains and railroads since I was little and also has a deep fascination with the Transcontinental Railroad, I was fortunate enough to purchase this set a few months ago. When I came back from Utah this past May (after going there for the Spike 150 celebration), I went to my local hobby shop and mentioned my trip to one of the gentlemen working there. He said, "Oh, we just got the Transcontinental set in! Would you like to see it?" He showed me where it was, and after brief consideration, I decided to buy it. I haven't set it up yet, as I'm making plans to expand my current layout, but it is really, really neat for a railfan to have.

    I wanted that set ever sicne I first saw it, but I don't know if I can afford it because I can just get older models Jupiter and 119 for less than $100 (I also already have an older Union Pacific combine car, but it's yellow instead of cream)
    I'm glad you finally got your hands on a DCC controller! Now you have to runn all of your DCC sound locomotives with it!
    5:38 Nice!
    You can also hit the stop button to stop both engines at once!
    Another thing you can do is hit the yellow function button, then a number button to play a sound like the whsitle or bell.

      Duck and Diesel Productions if you mean the Bachman Ez-controller, don’t. Go with something like digitraxs or NCE, why? Because you can have a lot more address and also easier and more control over the functions

    It is a really nice set! I was rather tempted by it, but it was too expensive for me and I already have some older Bachmann 4-4-0's. In particular, I have the 1995 Jupiter release, which no longer runs, and I also have a B&O Jupiter variant, a PRR 119 variant, and CP 173, so yeah, had to hold off there!

    I read somebody's complaint that these model locos did not "go fast enough at top speed" , but the originals rarely went faster than 25mph, with 40mph probably being their flat-out, open throttle maximum.

    • @TrainTsarFun
      @TrainTsarFun  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good point. Leave to people wanting to run at far above prototypical speeds to complain. Probably most people are running their trains way to fast. Passengers would be killed and freight destroyed and derailments increased if real trains ran at the scale speeds some run theirs - like me- lol

    359 dollars?!.i get its limited edition but for what you get maybe 150 or 200 at most.it a beautiful set yes but these small these couple hundred dollar + trains sets are? killing the hobby for new generations and sadly i hate to see it happen but it slowly is.i remember when i was 5 in 1993 a 100+ train set got you allot of freight cars.a big steam engine and. Signs and signals to put around the layout.i miss those days and sure the trains are looking alot better. But at the cost of the hobby dying out slowly or so it seems unless your one of the lucky ones with money to waist or where already in from the beginning but its just getting sad anymore for me to see these off the wall prices

    • @TrainTsarFun
      @TrainTsarFun  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Suggested retail is $550 so I think it’s a fair price at the much lower price Trainworld has it. If you don’t want DCC then go for the cheaper DC. One Thomas and Friends locomotives without DCC is about $75 so the price with DCC for these is right. I think price is a common complaint with everything I do videos on. I’m completely fine without DCC as I’ve been using DC forever. With all the sound and other features it’s nice but not a requirement. There are cheaper options. My father-in-law has been high quality stuff for years that I wouldn’t buy. People buy what they want when they can afford it. You can’t really compare 1993 prices to 2019 prices. I would say that the train sets from back then we’re more toy quality than realistic models. I collected toy train like Tyco - I’m still enjoy them but they are junk compared to this stuff
