I admire your passion for what you do mr. Tarrou. Your effort is clearly seen, in that you always strive to present the material in the best way that you can. I've been watching and rewatching many of your videos. Great sense of humor, diffidently helps to ease up math that is already difficult to do. Thank you! p.s. .....BAM!
You're very welcome Mark and THANK YOU for your support, for subbing and for taking the time to "thank the teacher" and all the compliments! Comments like yours are a constant reminder why I love teaching and taking the time to make these videos for youtube. Best of luck in whatever your future brings you...BAM!!!
Going back to the first time you are introduced to the chain rule, textbooks show how u substitution can clean up the way the process looks...helping you understand how to identify the inside function. At 17:08 I identify sqrt(2x) as the inside function for the natural exponential function, which then has its own inside function of 2x...so yes I would say you are doing the chain rule twice. Don't apologize for asking questions!
Been watching for almost 3 years now. Helped me through AP stat, in high school, Trig and pre calc and now calc 1 in college. Thank you so much for your videos! Quick question. For your example at 17:40 wouldn't it be easier to use the product rule instead of U-substitution?
At 23:41, During the quotient rule when you were taking the derivative why didn't you subtract the exponent by 1? I thought when taking a derivative when an exponent is present you're supposed to multiply it and then subtract the exponent by one.
Hello Prof! Cause of this pandemic situation i can't attend my classes offline, so it had to be online for this whole semester. And for me, it's hard to understand the topic. But thankfully i found your channel. I've been watching your videos and IT REALLY HELPED ME TO UNDERSTAND CALCULUS. Thank you very much Prof!
You are very welcome ...thanks for seeking outside help and choosing this channel to learn from...please take the time to share my channel information and your experience with your online teacher so ALL the online students can have the option of this additional free help!!! ...and please take the time to like, subscribe, support the ads and keep sharing these educational channels that help because that's the only way we grow and keep helping others...BAM!!!
i cannot express how well you explain things! Loved your videos in highschool, and even after now im in first year of uni, still continuing to watch :) thanks so much again, saved me a lot of time and made understanding so much easier

I'm getting em. But it's been a while since I haven't watched your vids xD well, our final exams are over and hopefully I will be able to proceed to integral next semester and then differential equations next year. BAM!!! :D
Jezrell Claire as long as you keep coming back, even if it's just for an occasional update:)...and you're still sharing my channel with others...BAM!!!
