I was introduced to the Haunting of Hill House with the Netflix series but I loved the book more. The Folio Society's art is more to my taste but I love the materials and quality of Suntup more. I wish I could fuse my two copies together haha.
Centipede Press had a cool edition, but the art wasn't my cup of tea.
The movie called The Haunting was my first exposure, and I have loved the story since then. I have to agree on your assessment of the art. It’s situations lile this where I am okay with having multiple versions of the same book.
Yeah no matter damage happenes. What gets me is exclusive private book sellers just throw stuff in a plastic bags. Nice book. I kind of shelve my books a bit loose. Certainly does not look as nice though. And you really have to go page to page to make sure no defects.
Yes. If the publisher packs a book well, and it gets damaged, that should not reflect negatively on the publisher. If a publisher (or seller) doesn’t protect the book well, then it’s something to get ticked about.

Which Edition of The Haunting of Hill House is your favorite?
The Folio Society standard edition is the best looking for my taste. The Suntup Numbered Edition is my favorite overall for quality, and if looks great too
@itsterrific So you read one edition and the other ones are just to display on the Shelf?
Yes. I am a reader and collector, but I don’t necessarily read each of the physical copies from my collection. I prefer to not worry about being delicate with a book I’m reading. Usually I’ll have a cheap “reader copy”, and leave the expensive copies at home on the shelf.

How does this compare with the folio society version?
Compared to the limited edition? The Suntup is far better quality of materials and craftsmanship. I prefer the Suntup illustrations too, but Folio’s book cover is prettier. The cases are about even in beauty.
I prefer the Suntup, but the Folio LE is a lot cheaper on the secondary market.
