@@itsterrific Certain ones. I can't buy everything and I haven't heard of a lot of the authors. I took a chance on this book, but I had to buy the James Herbert books and also the latest Graham Masterton book.

I agree. Mongrels is a great one. It’s the first SGJ book that I read, but it’s still my favorite.

Publishers pay authors to sign the signature pages, so I have no problem with a publisher making profit off an investment. I did get the email from Gauntlet and I do want tip sheets from many of their authors over the years, but I’m passing.

I did the same thing. Speaks is a big book. It was a while before I went for book 2, Queen of Bedlam. It’s different, and fabulous. The story progresses considerably in Queen.

@@itsterrific that is the first book in the series and it's so good. Beasts of Valhalla is a favorite. Think of a Raymond Chandler novel with a dwarf professor/investigator, his giant brother and some weird mystical stuff.

It’s a great series. I strongly recommend reading the series in order. Each book builds on the last, and there is a lot of character development as Matthew gains experience, and relationships develop.

Well if American Historical Fiction is interesting for you, I think this series is perfect. The series is full of great characters, settings, and writing.

Thanks for the good wishes! I have found that Robert McCammon has continued improving as a writer and storyteller throughout his career, where others seem to drop off over time. Besides the Corbett series, another book that didn’t sound good until I read it was Gone South. The premise was a turn-off for me, but the book ended up being so good! It was another nice surprise.

I love this series so far. I’m worried about the last book Leviathan. A series finale is tough to really get right. I’m crossing my fingers that McCammon was able to give a great ending to the series.

I’d love to be able to attend another FPW signing. It’s been about 14 years since the last one I attended. I hope he’s doing well enough to be able to get out and about. I saw a recent picture of another author at a convention with FPW.

@@itsterrific Hi Mr Terrific, Inspired by your video, I crawled around in boxes of DVDs in the closet and found The Howling and watched it last weekend. That opening of the movie is superb. I really think it is one of the best of the modern werewolf movies. Wolfen (Suntup did the novel) is another. Both have a new spin on the werewolf tale. Thanks!
