  • Monkey Feet Cheap Alternative
Monkey Feet are a great option to train the legs using dumbbells in the open chain without having to buy an expensive machine. I will review the Monkey Feet in a later video that goes over my favorite exercises to do with the Monkey Feet. However, in this video we will be looking at a cheaper alternative to the Monkey Feet using common equipment found in many gyms! This alternative piece of equipment also happens to be much cheaper and even more versatile than the Monkey Feet.

1:44 Monkey Feet Hip Flexor Exercise with Mini Band Alternative
3:30 Bonus Exercise with the Monkey Feet using the Mini Band Alternative
4:21 Tibialis Raises with Monkey Feet Alternative - A bonus because with the monkey feet you cannot do this exercise!

thank you! I admit since first seeing the monkey foot a few months ago,i have thought about it often. 80 dollars is just too rich for my blood, and here you show exercises you cant do with the tibalis raise (which ironically i got into from watching the knee over toes, where i saw the monkey foot!) so AWESOME video!

I bought the green Rogue bands and they work like a charm! If you lie on stairs you can do leg curls with both legs at the same time, though it feels like you're being pulled down the stairs a little. The green bands rub off color on your shoes, but it's easily removed. Thanks for saving me money!

Kettlebell works as well if the handle is wide enough! Especially at lower weights where some need to start, the handle can get pretty small on many kettlebells. Also for some exercises the tib anterior will likely fail before the hip flexor. Good sign you need to get the tib anterior stronger. But in some instances nice to take that muscle group out of the way and directly target the hip flexor!
