We finally found a new home! After 5 years of living in a tiny apartment, I found an a-frame cabin we can turn into an official home with creative offices and plenty of space to make our everyday lives easier. Now we can spend all our days in the peaceful countryside between the off grid cabin and the a-frame office.

Rent out an RV space or your whole life will be debt. And don't forget, the buildings rapidly depreciate. You are always saving to build.a new building or repair a roof. It may seem like paradise...... But it's actually a terrible investment to buy property with buildings..... and realtors never talk about replacement cost of buildings that don't really last beyond a hundred years. Or maybe even fifty.

My dad showed me your channel back in 2019 when his health was failing from cancer, he lost his fight in 2021 and I stopped watching for a little while because it was so hard to see your videos and not think of him. I'm catching up on everything that I missed during that time and I have to say it's so great to see how your life has changed over the past few years. Watching you work on projects and work to find balance in your life is inspiring and I've started to try to do the same in my life. Keep up the great content!
Im sorry to hear about your Dad. I lost my Dad in 2017. I carried his coffin on my birthday, he missed my wedding just 3 months later. He’ll never meet my 2 beautiful kids. It’s all very hard to accept but the things that remind me of him used to be hard, now they are welcome.

Seeing what you managed with the cabin, this home could not have gotten a better caretaker.
Two things I have done with all of my old vehicles that have made them so much more reliable. 1. Pertronix electronic ignition conversion, goes inside the distributor so engine looks original never again missed spark, no wet points and so on. 2. basic electric fuel pump, before the mechanical pump along the frame is where I put it, no more vapor lock, no starving under loads, you don't have to remove anything just put it on the fuel line with a rating at 4PSI or less, power off the ignition switch simple fuse and it just works. Both can be done in less then 2 hours. So much more reliable. Installed these on 1967 Kaiser Jeep m715 24v, 1971 Triumph Spitfire, 1957 VAC 13/14 Case tractor (Pertronix only gravity fed fuel), 1942 Ford 2n tractor (same with fuel as Case), 1984 ford f150 fuel pump only to stop vapor lock, and there are others. Was worth the Money.

You've given me renewed inspiration after having a scenario very similar to yours unfold in my life 5 years ago. Like you we were renting a condo and renting shop space for the business in a lake resort city. We found property 3 hours south in the Ozark Hills with both a home and shop. We've been doing things to our homestead as $ allows. After 5 years sometimes I forget it's beauty here. After hearing you talk about the simple pleasures of your new property that we too have here I'm reminded to not take it for granted. Thank you for helping me look back on our first days, weeks and months on our property and all its discoveries and beauty. This reminds me of helping my dad refurbished the little 1932 Cape Cod we moved into in the 70s. Whether it was handing him a lug wrench for the pipes, or keeping a Phillips head close by to put the anchors on the baseboard heating in the basement.
It is very refreshing to see young people work together in true harmony and bringing life into old structures. Character is becoming less desired and I'm proud of you having the insight to use what's given

Mine had been in cold storage mode, and most of the plumbing was shattered.
I’m glad my dad was still alive, because it would have taken me a lot longer to figure that all out on my own.

I love the old blue truck. We have been married 64 years. We were young and so in love. We had one room with a bed dresser a small kitchen nook. We shared a bathroom with 3 other couples. The phone was in the hallway we shared that also. Blessings from Mississippi

you should install a Holley spitfire Electronic fuel injection and matching distributer into the old blue truck. It will allow your truck to start as easily as modern vehicles.

just found your channel. I am going to have to live my mountain retreat life through you guys. We live in new york city but we had a place in the catskills for the past 15 years up until the middle of last year. with 3 kids in college we did not have the time to maintain the two seperate homes. or the money. we would go up there at least twice a month about 2hour drive ,but as we entered the last few miles we felt the stress flow away. It was always alot of work when we got there but it di not seem like work. I would say to my kids I can't wait to get up there and relax and they would say you work harder up there than at home , but it really did not feel like work. you are doing the right thing filming because you will forget all the hard work also years down the road when you do all that you want to do with the house and the propertyyour going to think ignorance is bliss because if you think things through you might just scare yourself away from doing it. good luck but most of all enjoy every minute.
