My notetaking has evolved throughout the past couple of months. Check out my RemNote playlist here: th-cam.com/play/PL8PAwfVEkm7T0ssPslFfjs2ClXlkuaIUx.html

Are you using the method yet?
    0:00 6 Phases
0:22 Phase 1: create a habit of consuming content
0:58 Phase 2: start reading for leisure
    1:27 Phase 3: start highlighting
1:49 Phase 4: highlight and take little notes
2:35 archiving is still an improvement
3:03 Phase 5: summarize in my own words
    3:23 Phase 6: zettelkasten method
4:32 do i wish i adapted zettelkasten sooner?
    5:23 notetaking is a skill
5:41 are the phases a waste of time?

I have to say that your content is just the kind of stuff that I was searching on TH-cam for years! You just go right to the point and I (FINALLY!) can relate with someone in this productivity spot.

Appreciate this comment 😊 and yes, I try to limit my intro as much as possible -- glad it shows!!

Great video Penolopie. I'm with you when it comes to adapting to the different stages as you put it in your video. I also would say I'm not quite at full zettelkasten....yet. I also believe we don't need to follow exactly the way Niklas Luhmann did his zettelkasten in digital form. Like you said, the best way to go about doing something you don't really know how to do yet is to just start, experiment, and not be too much of a perfectionist.

Oh wow. That kinda makes me feel better, Matt haha I thought I was the only one not using it or some form of it. And I agree with you that we don't have to exactly copy how he did it. I'm definitely in the stage now where I'm actively reading articles or watching videos about other people's workflow and see which one makes sense to me.

Hi Penelope. I just watched this video, and found it very helpful. Actual, watching a number of your videos motivated me to try RemNote in the last week. I struggle with Remnote's instructors, some aren't as clear or comprehensive as they might be so I find it frustrating. It helps to go back over some of your videos. Thank you.
I have a very basic question: Where does my data/rems live? On my computer, on RemNote's cloud, or both? I saw that I can work offline, but it wasn't clear that meant all of my data would be offline. I don't mind cloud storage as long as I also have complete storage on my computer.
Thanks again for your videos. They are really professional and well done. I hope you get many more subscribers.

Thanks, Daly! 😌 I'm super glad you find my videos useful.
To answer your question, I believe both depending on which knowledge base you're using? Maybe check your settings? For synced KB, it backs up with their server everyday at a certain time. For local, a daily backup is made up in your hard disk. Hope this answers your question!

Your videos are really helpful. Can you plz tell us (in Remnote) if any way to active recall a LIST which disclose one by one

Glad you find them helpful! If you mean how to make a list flashcard, then I think you use ::1. instead of ::
I think it will disclose line by line. I don't utilize the flashcard features that much so I could be wrong. You could ask on the discord channel -- they're also helpful there!

Thanks for this video, I was trying to apply some of these phases separately, but now I see them in a better order. What are you doing to improve your reading habit?

    • @penolopied

Nice that you can relate! I'm past that phase I think but I had a reading slump recently. I started just picking books that are relatively shorter and more fast-paced than the ones I was reading -- it's working so far
