  • Hello everyone !
In this video I am doing one of the important things to preserve wellbeing of this type of trucks
UPDATE!!! I no longer run this bypass as I replaced my radiator here !!!
    • Radiator, Thermostat, ...
    Disclaimer
This Bypass mod is NOT a permanent solution and should ONLY be done until a new radiator is purchased and installed WITH THE BYPASS THEN RETURNED TO NORMAL OPERATION, when the new radiator is in place and functional, to restore proper transmission cooling .

Ok I just completed this bypass. The rock guard takes a couple of minutes to get on and off. I found that if you loosen the passenger side rad hose first and just get it to the edge of pulling off it makes it easier. As for the other line, the hose clamp was in an awkward position so I had to go in with both hands, squeeze the clamp then pull with both hands. The only fluid that came out was on the radiator part of the hose as when you take it off you tend to let it go. When it does it drops below the rad level and some of the fluid in the hose comes out, like 1/2 a shot glass. Definitely easy, takes about 40 min with taking off the rock guard and looking at everything.

That is old and I dont want it to crack and mix tran oil and coolant together.
Once I get a new radiator I am planning to reconnect the hoses back to the original locations thus ensure the better cooling of tran oil. As of right now its fall and then will be winter time and I am not doing any heavy pulling or heavy off-roading on the truck yet so I am safe.
