Couldn’t the VQ connecting Rods have been replaced with upgraded Rods, I looked it up once over 5 years ago and a max price on a crazy ass custom set of Titanium rods wasn’t more than $400.00 each, and a regular steel bulletproof set would probably not be more than a $ 5-1000.00
Great job man I always love when a guy does something that others say cant be done. What about exhaust ?? Can you fit headders in that engine bay ? And what kind of torque can the stock 6 speed take ? Would it be possible to do the swap and use a T-56 ?
I plan to when I decide on how I want to control it. It's 30-40 degrees here now so didn't really focus on it that much. The way it's set up all I habe to do is build a bracket for the factory nissan compressor, and use the AC ribs on the crank pulley. Should be able to keep all factory AC lines also.
@@BlaserBuilds I've been interested in doing a ls3 in my 370Z but what pulls me away from getting serious about it is that I'd like to retain AC and have no clue what would be involved with the electronics of getting it to work. Can you elaborate on as to how you would probably go about it in a 350Z?
A21bravo, quick question for you. How would I go about taking the Engine and trans out of a Chevy van. What's the best method? What else should I take?
Standalone ecu using the factory GM ecu. You lose the CANBUS communications for some of the functions on dash. LOJ makes a canbus translator harness to retain them.
@@BlaserBuilds how does your central locking and stuff work without the can bus do you lose it? On my g37 the bcm shares power from the ecu unless I guess the 350z does it some other way?

all for power upgrades but usually consider costs of upgrading supporting equioment as well( ie brakes, suspension) all the extra horse power is great ..........till you try to stop that monster
I'm interested in the collins kit and the fact that it retains the tranny position and driveshaft. Especially since the driveshaft almost always has a long wait to arrive. But i don't want to fabricate anything beyond perhaps the radiator support. So if someone makes an oil pan that would work on this setup that would be great.
@@LtLongle Yeah bumper went on, I build a new mount for it. There pans out there but The Welder, and material wasn't much more than the oil pans and kits so built it. I eventually moved the engine back and bought a pan when I added twin turbos.
@@BlaserBuilds gotchya. What pan would i be looking for on this setup where the engine sits forward? Just any front sump pan? Also how about motor mounts for this position with the collins kit. Does collins make any?
How to do an ls swap for under 3k 1. Get good at drifting 2. Get sponsored by a big company 3. Get halfway through a season, high on the leaderboards and blow your engine. 4. Work with your sponsor on getting an ls into your car.
Long story, but original owner needed cash, sold it cheap to a younger guy who had a loan for it. He wanted to get out of the loan because it was winter and he had it sitting in storage.

FI audio for the win🎉
Cut a hole in the hood and get a carbon scoop for ram air. Awesome build
Holy fuck this guy is awesome! Thanks for showing us there is another way . Love that you didn't have to change the driveshaft or shift ergonomics . New sub here . Merry Christmas btw
Literally more then 3 grand bud your under 4 k without the welder. Ive done alot of research gonna cost a healthy 5-10k depending which direction. You go. Sweet build tho im planning to swap my g35 sedan. Ls looks damn good in that engine bay
This is a build. Much respect sir
hey man im currently in the middle of ls swap and im trying to do it stock as possible i will upgrade down the road , i was thinking of 5.3 truck motor and just buy a ls1 intake complete with everything on it ,ls1 accessorie drive ,pully and powering steering pump and lines , and oil filter relo/ do i have to change anything? else around like whats the straight forward on the swap i dont wanna replaced something that i can just use you know🙁 and if it breaks ill replace it can u give me a run down on wat exactly u need for just a stock swap on 350z
How is the ride quality? Concerned about how it will ride with the engine closer up to the front. Anyways kudos to the build!
It's fine. I really notice any difference.
Good video bro hope to see more ls swap on any odd ball cars
Why are ls engines so easy on the eyes and visually pleasing
Not sure, but I totally agree.
You are the man !!!! but in my case it will be a good chunk since i live in Puerto Rico and i will have to order the engine... but nice to know man good information very professional
@a21bravo First time seeing your video, instant sub after watching this. You have the drive and even more importantly, the commitment and discipline I wish I had. Lacking those things is what keeps me from finishing my innumerable projects. Wish I knew you IRL and lived close enough to try to join in or watch the projects in person. A genius, true inspiration and a master. Thank you for sharing.
Couldn’t the VQ connecting Rods have been replaced with upgraded Rods, I looked it up once over 5 years ago and a max price on a crazy ass custom set of Titanium rods wasn’t more than $400.00 each, and a regular steel bulletproof set would probably not be more than a $ 5-1000.00
Hello .. I have bought a 350z with a swap in progress that needs to be completed. I need some help in Chicago
This guy is a fucking role-model.
that factory exhaust header makes me sad tho
Pretty much every base swap is going to cost 5k plus what ever motor you want
Watching this in 2024 and now it's like 8k for the swap 😢
I got a 4 door Bel Air protect
WE REPRESENT THE LOLLIPOP GUILD THE LOLIPOP GUILD
Could you imagine spending hours a day editing the videos? It's horrifying!
How much power does it produce? Is it an ls3? Cuz that what I want to put in a 350z
Where did you get the write up from? I'm considering this build. Just need to get my list together
No write up, just stuff I thought of to make the swap cheaper.
@@BlaserBuilds ok thanks bro. I’m gonna follow yours projects
Great job man I always love when a guy does something that others say cant be done. What about exhaust ?? Can you fit headders in that engine bay ? And what kind of torque can the stock 6 speed take ? Would it be possible to do the swap and use a T-56 ?
I agree completely. My favorite thing about this build is honestly how he made the mounts with flat stock haha
Doing a JZ swap now on my G35 but I definitely wanna LS swap a Z/G
The car definitely looks good,
Personally I'm a believer you can have power and still have comfort are you putting AC back in??
I plan to when I decide on how I want to control it. It's 30-40 degrees here now so didn't really focus on it that much. The way it's set up all I habe to do is build a bracket for the factory nissan compressor, and use the AC ribs on the crank pulley. Should be able to keep all factory AC lines also.
@@BlaserBuilds I agree, it's starting to get cold here as well.
Thanks man. I don’t need to spent 10k.
350z with a Camaro LS V8 Pushrod engine ? It was not cheaper to Supercharged or Turbocharge the OG engine? How many benefits you get from that?
You really cant do anything with the factory VQ connecting rods. They are super weak.
@@Simple_TH-cam what do you mean? That the factory 350 engine is weak and dont have to much potential?
@@TheAbrahamsoto01 the factory connecting rods in VQ engine cant handle power.
What's killing me is they want like 3k for the engine mount swap kit. Obviously you got around that.
Loj conversation?
Very nice! How does it drive?
A21bravo, quick question for you. How would I go about taking the Engine and trans out of a Chevy van. What's the best method? What else should I take?
Everything you can, intake to pan. Accessories, exhaust manifolds, uncut wire harness, computer. Everything.
a21bravo quick question, were you a prior combat engineer and suffered from the "night air" at ft Lost in the woods? If so, what's up battle!
@@about2088 Yessiree...
Does the nissan bcm wig out without the vq ecu communicating to it? how do you get around that and the engine still works?
Standalone ecu using the factory GM ecu. You lose the CANBUS communications for some of the functions on dash. LOJ makes a canbus translator harness to retain them.
@@BlaserBuilds how does your central locking and stuff work without the can bus do you lose it?
On my g37 the bcm shares power from the ecu unless I guess the 350z does it some other way?
@@AdmissionGaming You only lose the tach, coolant temp, and a few other things like heat/AC controls. I don't think it lost the locks. (I don't own the car anymore)
bel air drag car please and thank you
And hellephant swap it, or whatever that new hemi engine crate is called
Where does everyone find LSs for 500 bones? I never see them that cheap! If I did, I would have two or three ready to go! So I have a 350 z and want to do an ls swap. Did you say you used a Collins adaptor to utilize the original z 6 speed?
Yes Collins. LOJ and sikky have kits that keep nissan trans but don't cut bellhousing.
@@BlaserBuilds Thanx for your prompt response. So would you recommend LoJ or sikky over the Collins?
Who the hell painted the ENTIRE car inside & out lemans sunset orange lmao i like the color but not every piece
My dad has a 62 Bel-Air with an LS1, straight piped. I swear you need earplugs lmao
I'm trying to learn this because my engine blew up
Dude your bad ass, i wanna do the same swap in my is300 but going with a 6.0 outta a gmc yukon denali 😎
How did you get a engine for 500? Does it have a lot of miles?
Junkyard
Wait, your wife like sports cars and wanted a car for drifting? Sr you are a very lucky man!
Just date a man
that belt to hose clearance tho lmaooo
True...I was laughing the entire time people talked shit and it was never an issue "lmaooo"...
@@BlaserBuilds keep on keeping on
This is actually cool but I have too many questions and concerns
Ask away.
all for power upgrades but usually consider costs of upgrading supporting equioment as well( ie brakes, suspension) all the extra horse power is great ..........till you try to stop that monster
@@ericeaton371 Brakes and suspension are already done... No worries.
So how much would you charge to do that for me I have a 03 350Z I can get the motor and everything just the wiring is my problem
They now offer fully canbus wiring solutions for these swaps.
Good job!!! When you have time check out my DIY BMW e34 Ls1 swap. We share the same philosophy on learning and building
I Want To Do A LS Swap In My Infiniti M35S
karl smith lol I’m thinking the the same with my M I haven’t seen any done
Great work with the oil pan - very nice investment on tools I been doing that since I started my project lol is like never ending buying tools now 🤣
Yeah, I usually don't complain about buying tools... But trans fluid for an automatic that's hell every time, haha.
What engine did you put in there? Is it a ls2 or lq?
Hey so i'm sort of confused, was there an oil pan you could have purchased that would have worked or not?
I'm interested in the collins kit and the fact that it retains the tranny position and driveshaft. Especially since the driveshaft almost always has a long wait to arrive. But i don't want to fabricate anything beyond perhaps the radiator support. So if someone makes an oil pan that would work on this setup that would be great.
Also does the bumper go on with the modified radiator position?
@@LtLongle Yeah bumper went on, I build a new mount for it. There pans out there but The Welder, and material wasn't much more than the oil pans and kits so built it. I eventually moved the engine back and bought a pan when I added twin turbos.
@@BlaserBuilds gotchya. What pan would i be looking for on this setup where the engine sits forward? Just any front sump pan?
Also how about motor mounts for this position with the collins kit. Does collins make any?
How much would you charge for a g35 manual if I brought all parts ...
How to do an ls swap for under 3k
1. Get good at drifting
2. Get sponsored by a big company
3. Get halfway through a season, high on the leaderboards and blow your engine.
4. Work with your sponsor on getting an ls into your car.
In my experience, its much easier to get drunk and go to work with the welder...
$7500 for a 350z with SC kit + built motor? How did you manage to find that deal - was the car high mile or salvage?
Long story, but original owner needed cash, sold it cheap to a younger guy who had a loan for it. He wanted to get out of the loan because it was winter and he had it sitting in storage.
Great deal for you! Thanks for the reply.
What about ls swapping an bmw e92 335i or 328i. 😁
Great work , you have some mad skills sir !
This thing is a beast
How did u only get the engine for 500??
500 for a 5.3 is actually kinda high for this area... They can be found for $300-400 if you're patient.
@@BlaserBuilds ah okay I own a 6mt G35 and im planning on dropping an LS1 in there but I am not very knowledgable on it or the process
@@renzyuson602 LS1 sucks...get an LQ9 or 4.....
@@ranmas2004 ok thanks for the suggestion
Got one for 300 from a junkyard. Came with harness and computer.
Not all heroes wear capes
where are you finding a engine for 500 because i wanna do the swap but i cant find a ls3 for less then 5000.
This is a truck motor. You won't find an LS3 for 500.
Wait why swap a motor on a built z im a firm believer in wasting that same exact money on boost lol
Liked and subscribed my guy. Hoping to see more build videos from you! Rock on!
Thanks man. Working on converting my Turbo LS Ranger back to 4x4, then going to start working on the twin turbo build on this car. See you on the next one.
Where did u get your master cylinder?
In the famous words of Evan Shanks, "Sure dude, you can do an ls swap for 3 thousand, if you don't have power steering, or an intake... or an engine"
Thats probably why I'll never have a huge channel like Evan. My viewers are doing LS swaps for under $3k and driving around instead of sitting on the couch waiting for the "built right" stars to align.
@@BlaserBuilds dang that's a good roast 😂
