Watched the trailer once on the Whaddo you meme livestream and teared up; Showed my wife this and we both teared up. I will tell everyone at my church about this starting with my pastor.
I've fostered for 7 years. I love the message we need to do something, but I worry about the message love conquers all. Advocating for what a child needs sometimes means they need more than just a loving home. I hope all that is included in the movie. Many people have been burned out and heartbroken trying to love away RAD, ODD, FASD, boarderline personality disorders, etc.
I agree. I was in the US foster care system for 6 years. When I was 15, I was really having a difficult time with something and finally talked to my foster mom and shared a major problem with her. Her advice to me - pray to Jesus and read the Bible. I needed a PARENT to help me. All I got was religious nonsense. Nothing she said actually helped and I got frustrated and told her I wasn't going to ask her Imaginary BFF to help me. She got upset and charged out of my room because I insulted Jesus. She absolutely felt that accepting Jesus as my savior and joining her church would fix every single issue in the world. I can't imagine how she would have dealt with some kid with a major mental illness. I had 4 foster placements who were like that - new foster parents entirely unable to deal with challenging behavior, expected utter compliance and praying/other religious nonsense was their entire way of dealing with any mental health issue.
The other reply is EXACTLY why we never joined the foster care system. You’re supposed to be a parent but without the authority of a parent. The kid can just call the state on you if you try to make them do the dishes. 🙄. And therein lies my criticism of this movie. In another time this narrative would be true. With a social worker that was actually working with you instead of against you. All social workers are now the epitome of WOKE. It’s just not worth the mental energy to deal with such a broken system anymore.
@@ro6742 The problem is what some religious individuals think of as being a "parent", especially including compliance and obedience and conforming to specific values of the parent. There needs to be a level of flexibility to deal with kids who experience trauma. I had an absolute war with one foster dad because I liked to sleep with the lights on. He would come into my room at night and turn the light off. This happened over and over and thinking back, I really could have reported him for how often he came into my room when I was asleep being creepy. But he was absolutely livid he said something (turn the light off) and I defied him. He turned it into a war. And what did I have to lose? I hated it there and wanted to be moved. So many of these foster parent fundamentally didn't like me. They wanted to change me and everything I did. So, why would I like them or want to be there or do what they said?
@@KatTheo431 You used the word "nonsense" in regards to religion twice in your comment which tells me you aren't so open minded yourself. You also stated that you insulted Jesus and that made her upset. I am no Bible thumper, but for some people their religion isn't considered "nonsense" and they most certainly aren't going to be too happy when you insult their savior. It sounds to me, from your current way of speaking, that you aren't any more tolerant than that woman was.
@@happygirlcreations3350 I'm not going to be tolerate of a religion who tells people that women are inferior to men and tries to control the lives of all females and preaches that people like my mom have their kids put in foster care because it proves the bible is right and women are incapable of being single moms and all females need men telling them what to do. That's the type of nonsense their pastor was spewing and I will call it nonsense. It's fake religious garbage men use to justify controlling women and I'm so glad I got out of there. But I was 15. Kids under 13-14 usually don't need to consent for adoptions so they can be forcibly adopted and can't escape until they turn 18.More people need to be intolerant of abusive behavior of religions and not put up with this type of abuse.
@lisarosen9584 uh it has a little bit of gun shots and people wanting to d*e (if you know what i mean) but its a great movie and teaches you the gospel 😀

My wife and I were so blessed to just see this movie on opening day. Wow, what an incredible and truly anointed movie - beautiful, gut-wrenching, inspiring, tear-jerking, and powerful. As a father of eight (5 of them adopted), I knew we would like the message of this film but I'm so happy to report that the QUALITY of the movie itself is far beyond anything I had hoped for - great acting, moving script, perfect ebb and flow of the plot, NOT preachy, NOT cheesy, just Jesus followers following Jesus and doing really HARD stuff that MATTERS.
We saw Sound of Freedom the day it came out and it gave my husband and I a sincere realization that many many children are VICTIMS and most people have NO CLUE. My husband and I can't wait to see this movie. We are foster parents her in the state of TN and TN needs laws to change. We don't give up on the foster children put in our care. TN is all about reunification even when it is not in the best interest of the child. Our 6 y.o. was removed from his home because of abuse and neglect, 3 years ago and we are his 5 home. We all know abused and neglected children come with trauma add foster homes that throw these children out because of behaviors stemming from abuse. He is not up for adoption because the child's mother is getting rehabilitated. She is a drug addict and so is dad (who is in prision) She is going to get a job, go to parenting classes...so on and so forth but after3 years she hasn't done anything and the court still tells the mother go and do this. We will start with virtual visits, then we will go to visits in person and then we will reunite mother and child...all the while the 6 y.o is begging not to be sent back to his real mean mom. And yes, this little boy is black and TN being one of the highest rated children living in foster care only 23% of black children ever get adopted. My husband and I are told we need to start preparing this little boy for the visits and reunification. This little boy has told us he can climb the tree and get onto the roof and jump and maybe he will break his neck and be dead.

I saw this tonight. Absolutely amazing. Not at all corny. Very real. The production and acting was amazing. THIS is the kind of movie we need in theaters. Support this movie so we can continue getting honest GOOD movies that Hollywood refuses to give us.
This movie is going to break my heart and I can't wait to see it! I fostered kids, and adopted 2 who were so wounded the state documented their chances of permanency as zero. It has been stressful and even a nightmare at times, but seeing where they are now, versus where they came from, makes it all worth it. We are the adults. We make the sacrifices so kids can be kids. I wish more people would make the same kind of commitment to a kid who needs a forever home. It is a massive commitment, but if I can do it, a lot of others can too.
My family and I went to see this movie, at a special screening and it was so inspirational. Even my husband cried and he is one tough hombre. The theater was FULL! Of course they put it in a small theater, but we were the first ones there and I thought we would be alone. People started to arrive and I was astonished. I have sent this video trailer to all my friends and encouraged them to go see it. I’m gonna talk to my pastor next, to see if he will organize a field trip after church, and those that want to go can meet there. Also, I want to go visit their church one of these weekends and worship with them. Possum Trot is right here in Texas!

I will definitely go to see this movie! Thank you Angel Studios for standing for the children! This does give me hope for our precious babies in the world! I pray for each child everyday ❤❤❤
The trailer made me cry--especially the little boy shouting no when he saw the faucet running. My little brother and I were terrified of baths after having our heads held under the tub spout when our foster mom washed our hair. She was cruel. She was one of over 20 foster homes I was in. I don't know if I can watch this movie. But I'll donate to the cause! 👍
I’m so sorry you had cruel people in your life. May you feel love and acceptance. I don’t know what your spirit life is like but I pray you get to know Jesus and His true love and acceptance (and not a distorted, religious filter).
I beg you to go see it. Face your fear and conquer them, you will find the strength you didn't have as a child, wish blessings and bravery to face such evil as your past. Stay strong and make a difference.. 🙏🙏
I just saw this movie yesterday. I had constant tears through the whole movie, it was so powerful. I have 3 cousins who came from terrible homes that suffered from the neglect and abuse. The church needs to come together to support these families. Everyone needs to see this!

I was born in Albony, New York and was in the foster care system for a total of three years. This movie had me crying the entire length of the movie as i related to this movie so much. My birth father abandoned my birth mother and my birth mother could not take care of me. I was abandoned and brought into a hospital with blue skin and was very ill from neglect as a child. I had several sibblings however we were all split up. I was adopted at the age of three in the state of Florida in Tampa. This movie is so realistic of what the american adoption system is like. I am 24 years old now. After 21 years after the fact I am still trying to heal my wounds from being adopted. This movie brought back so many memmories as a child being adopted and tore me apart. Due to the trama that I went through there are somethings today that I struggle with such as I am always affraid that someone is going to leave me behind. I still have panic attacks over what I went through as a child. I try to look past all of the trama caused however the movie is so well done that it really expressed what I went through. I know that this story is about Possium Trot; however I hope that there will be more adoption based movies made in the future that are as real as this one. In addition I feel like I constantly need to have food or a snack accessible nearby due to being left to starve as a child. I hope that no other kid has to go through what this movie showed or what I went through as if I had to go through it again I dont think I could make it through. In addition I also related to the knife scene as there are somedays that you were a mistake or a kid noone wanted. It is not always an easy walk in the park as an adopted child. Especially whenever someone asks about your parents. This usually occurs at appointments or job interviews and it hurts to tell people that I am adopted because I just want to be normal sometimes. All in all to end on a high note please go watch this movie for yourself. As an adopted person, this movie will hopefully bring light to a dark area in the United States. My hope is oneday to make a video about my entire story however for the time being I am so thankful to have seen such an amazing movie.
I was holding back tears watching the trailer. I must support this movie to bring awareness. All kids deserve a loving home and family. This is heartbreaking.
Finally...a film studio-production company that invests in quality actors, scripts etc. Nothing worse than watching a movie that has a great story line but the acting etc is low budget and corney. This movie is powerful. Oscar worthy. Difficult to watch with the abuse stories but so powerful and moving. That is the purpose of story telling and this move does just that. Moved me beyond words.
The trailer had me tearing up. I'm a grown man. Watching that kid react to bath time almost took me out. I am not strong enough to watch this. IJS. Looks like a powerful piece filled with powerful performances. 👏😢
Just got back from seeing this movie and it moved me in ways no other film in production has ever done. Angel Studios has done something quite remarkable here by defying the status quo and making movies about things in our world that need to be shown and discussed. I can’t wait to see what they do next.
When the trailer gets you bawling, you know the movie is going to be so good! Coincidentally one of my children who is adopted from foster care has a bday the weekend this movie hits theaters. We are definitely going to go see this. ❤
During a pre-release screening, I sang along with familiar hymns, laughed a little, cried a lot (both happy and sad tears), and felt my heart strings pulled in a way I can't exactly describe. Now, I'm challenged... what do I do? This movie... at this time.., seems to serve as a clarion call.
I've got 7,can't really afford them all, or we'd have more! I couldn't possibly express to you how much reward there is is being safety & love for a child who hasn't had much, it is truly the joy of my life!is it hard...well anything worth doing is❤
Excellent film! The raw truth and and what happened in a small community of people with hearts of gold who put their trust in God. A compelling and impactful story you don’t want to miss.
This is a beautiful movie. My late mother fostered lots of children and adopted several. It takes a special person to do this. Everyone is not cut out for it.
Wow beautiful I worked for years trying to help them when I was younger as a counselor 8 years took kids into our home no real system just to help them and their parents 😢❤

I like the name Possim Trot more, because it's original. But I get their trying to tie in the morals in with Sound of freedom. I hope the movie is great I love the idea of adopting someday. (I'm only 20 now)
It was indeed a great movie and this needs to be paid attention too. Wish I was in a better position to support or help other than donating. Very touching.
All I can say is, "Amen!" I saw this movie, and I have to admit that I shed a few tears. Needless to say, I loved the movie, and I encourage everyone to watch it. May all experience Agape!
I taught graphic arts at a juvenile Correctional center for 4 years in the late 90's. For some of the boys I taught, being locked up was the safest place they had ever been. I can't begin to recount the stories of what "home" was like for these young guys. I will be seing this movie for sure. From experience I can testify to the fact that developing a strong faith was the most sure path for future success for these guys.
I am a survivor of severe child abuse and neglect trafficking and CSAM. I now work to educate folks on these atrocities. in 2018 I became a therapeutic foster so I could take in children who have been abused/trafficked. these are the kiddos that no one will take because of what they have been through. Now after Covid and inflation, I am going to lose my farm unless I can come up with the funds to save it by July 25th. please pray for us. That tub seen in the trailer ...I get it! my mama scrubbed me with brillo pads in a scalding tub after selling me to men saying I was dirty and going to hell! She would also put my head under. it was horrible.
I was adopted fostered first. 13 years of hell with my adoptive parents. I almost died from the abuse I went through. I sobbed intensely watching this. Because my story cannot be told in court my story is forgotten alongside others. Yet this story is out. I’m glad I’m glad that even though some of us never got our story out on this scale at least some of us did. To all of the fostered and adopted kids who were abused in the system I love you we didn’t deserve what happened to us. Stay strong never give up. Don’t let them take your life again we’ve got this. Together ❤
When I was 4 I was part of the 30%, I was the unwanted child. My mom and dad were 2 people who decided not to sit by and took in the unwanted children. So to adopt us all, but only my 2 bio sisters and I were able to be adopted. Now 2 weeks shy of 29 and my life is so blessed and expecting my first child, one who by all rights should not be here. We CAN make the difference in every child's life.
Such a great testimony to the strength of community. Their initial efforts to help these children eventually failed when they tried to adopt and care for broken children independently. When they came to their wits end and rallied together and unified in their faith to then realize that it was going to take the WHOLE body of believers to overcome. Individually, even as believers in Jesus, we can be overcome by daunting tasks, but a unified church body is a force to be reckoned with. Jesus is God....
I am going to see this movie today and I can’t wait. Angel Studios is doing what needs to be done showing positive and inspirational movies that truly need to be seen.

There should never be a child without a "safe home".
Wow. This comment made me very emotional. And this is coming from an adult who was once a child without a “Safe Home”.
I’m already cutting onions up in this trailer. God bless those who share love with children aside from their own…

Wow! I dare you to watch this trailer without tears in your eyes. May the Lord help us all fight for children and help them know they are precious and valuable in His sight. I thank the Lord for Angel Studios bringing light to these tough issues in such a powerful way. 🙏🏼❤️
I finished the trailer and am still crying
Yup, wait till you see the movie. Even my husband cried and that’s not like him. We went to see it at a special screening and I loved it so much, I want to go to Possum Trot and visit their church.
It led us to conduct more research and we have not stopped spreading the message to other's. I look forward to another true movie about saving children and will again, share this. I don't understand how anyone could give this a thumbs down. SaveOurChildren.
@@seashellmac1968 what does spreading the word do exactly? I am sorry but I am kinda tired of people who convince themselves that they are doing something and take a rest ….. what real difference have you made ? @@christinuwem6849 while i agree with what you are saying...... i still agree that by having discussions about these types of topics is beneficial. We know alot of folks and we ask if they heard of sound of freedom, then what it was about, and did they know how bad child sex trafficking really is and so on.. it opens discussion. We hope that by word of mouth, it spreads. Other than that, my brother n law adopted 2 children from foster care to help take children out of the system and give them a loving life. Not sure what else you think i can do? I'm all ears?
I was, and countless others, abused by the church. So there’s that.

You are the goddess for giving life to those foster kids. Your heart must be so beautiful, i wish you are blessed with everything you need. You are a beautiful soul.

@@aprilwilliams6714how heartbreaking to hear a little boy say that. I'm so sorry what you go through I'm trying to care for this little guy. I went through the Foster system and was in over 20 foster homes from age 1 to 17, most of them bad. I am now 64. I wish I could have had foster parents like you guys. ❤❤
you've got to be kidding me there's hundreds of movies out there about adopting foster children what do you mean finally getting representation that just sounds ridiculous
There's so many kids in Foster care and we have to be the Change that we want to see!
I'm responsible for one child that was in Foster care she has grown up in a loving family and she's my niece. If we all commit to finding a loving home for kids we could change the System even if we do it one child at a time!🙂💕👏🏾🙏🏾💯❣️

I was a foster child for 2 years. Finally found my forever home September 18th 2022. I saw this movie with my new parents. Brought tears to all of our eyes. I highly recommend this movie
I don't know you but I love you. God bless you always🙏
Do you think a 12 year old can’t handle it. I want to take my two daughters but am not sure
@sassysweetsphynx6418 As a 16 year old with many siblings, I may not have seen the movie, but it seems fit for a 12 year old. I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. 12 year olds can handle watching most movies. God bless and much love ❤️✝️

This pastor and church are what following Jesus looks like. What a life changing story to watch and better to live it.

This was the sign to be a foster parent for me. I wanna help these kids, too.
Be thankful you didn't end up with your mother's family, who only took you in out of guilt and a paycheck!
Glorify God! Hallelujah!!
The trailer had me tearing up. I'm a grown man. Watching that kid react to bath time almost took me out. I am not strong enough to watch this. IJS. Looks like a powerful piece filled with powerful performances. 👏😢
