That quick scene of the Warlock walking amongst the city is the little world building moments we need more of.
Same it had me rewinding it a couple of times
I freaking loved that moment, really gave the hero vibes
10 years of defending Humanity and the Last City and yet we were never given the chance to actually go down into the city to see the people we’re protecting.
Was the first thing in the Doc to make me sit up right! I love that stuff!

New Zavala VA sounds seasoned and true to form. I am sure Lance would be proud of this.

It's kind of bittersweet, on the one hand Keith is a fantastic actor and will do this role justice, but on the other hand hearing someone else voice Zavala tears at the wounds left by Lance's passing. I'm sure it's just this first time, and I will get over it given enough time, but Lance will still be missed.
It felt like all his age of "younger year" is much more understanable

The ahamkara (or some of them, at least) know that they're in a game so it's definitely possible that a being more powerful than them, the witness, could know too. So it's at least a possibility that they were talking to us as the player.

The Dread language being translatable is for some reason got me hyped as fuck.
For some reason that’s the most hype thing for me here, as a lore lover

The hidden lore gona go crazy
A lot of destiny alien races have a coherent speech filled with repeating words and words used in certain contexts. You can hear it when Tormentors talk. I'm nowhere near good enough to translate that but I'm excited for what this community can come up with
This isn't the first time they've done this btw. The fallen have had some of their language for years now and the cabal have had their alphabet translated (I think, could be wrong). Still dope though.
Kieth David sounds so good as Zavala. It'll never be Lance, but this is the best option we can get

What about all the suffering YOU caused, Witness?
Don't you wonder if the people that comprise the Witness aren't themselves suffering from an inability to affect the decisions made by the Witness? Every time they tried to communicate. To let us in. To show us how to wield power. It was hands reaching from an abyss to the light.
That is why the Witness is frustrated, if not infatuated, with the Traveller and the Light; they want to BECOME it - not so simply destroy it - and thus shape a new existence.
Sadly, their methods are, like the Sol Divisive and the Black Heart, imperfect. Maligned, not out of malice, but because they aren't being listened to by the Witness.
The Witness can't hear them - rather, can't understand them. They are as much in the dark as the people within them are.
That's just my thoughts, they might not be precise, but that's the impression I got from Witness.

The witness believes that all suffering is caused by existence in general. It doesn’t really care if it inflicts suffering because if it doesn’t, life will.
Also, there's some lore that suggests that the witness only inflicts prolonged suffering on species who've been blessed by the light.
"Guardians Make Their Own Fate" is also my favorite line from this series. It truly epitomizes both our paracausal capabilities to warp reality with strength and belief, while also demonstrating a poetic irony with the title. "Destiny" implies a predetermined future, but the nature of guardians is that we make our own future, and we forge our own destiny through our powers and our sheer will upon the universe.
The real Destiny is the friends we made along the way.
No matter who or what we face,
As long as we stand strong we will win.
God I love this franchise.

I like that Bungie spent the first few minutes discussing how carefully and thoroughly they approached TFS’s story. Good to hear after Lightfall.

@@TheLasombra077 most of Bungie’s discussion regarding Lightfall’s writing related to the dynamic between Calus and the Witness, which was genuinely one of the highlights of the campaign. The biggest problem with Lightfall’s story, the Veil, was barely mentioned (if at all) in the ViDoc.
lol theres a high possibility they’ll botch the story just like lightfall nothing bungie says holds any water until the reviews come out but as always the expansion looks good on the outside

Seeing our jumpships crashing at the end was both hilarious and somber. I've kept my favorite ship since Y1 so it'll be kinda heartbreaking and kinda cool to give it a "sendoff" like this roleplay wise.

I just noticed that. I think its awesome and they should continue pushing forward with it because it reinforces the idea of this being not only humanity’s last chance, but the eliksni, the cabal, and literally all species and planets throughout the universe since if the Witness succeeds, he will enact his Final Shape on the whole universe. So sticking together to strengthen and support eachother is the best option

The Witness was already angry beforehand. Probably when we killed not one, not two, but *three* of its Disciples on top of managing to get into the Pale Heart and rejecting its offering to become a Disciple.

"we're in need of a god killer" Bunge please do the Gardener justice, this is like the most important thing to get right in my opinion.
One thing that definitely comes across in this video isn't just that these are developers who care deeply about their work and are confronting the end of a decade-long project, but are confronting that with the knowledge that they've lost so many of their coworkers over the last year and are expected to deliver greatness, backs against the wall, without many of their friends. Into the Light and the post-delay Final Shape updates have been amazing, I hope this release is everything the team (current and ex) aspires it to be.

favorite part of the vidoc is when the witness says "its shaping time" and finally shaped all over the place

The fact that the dreads language is translatable genuinely fills me with so much hope for this dlc. There putting so much work in things that people probably wouldn’t even notice and it shows that the people making it are actually doing it with passion

I have a feeling one of the ways to beat the witness is to disrupt it on the inside, have some of the beings who merged start to rethink the final shape, and the one voice we hear here is the more fanatic soul of the witness

Not gonna lie, it looks really good.
Also, Keith David as Zavala sounds awesome. The only guy who could have taken over the mantle from Lance.
To have been working on this series for a decade, and to still be pulling great work together while so many things have continued to change (talent, other new games, player friction etc) is testament to my belief that Destiny is bigger than a single game....its been a great journey, with ups and downs, and one that I hope to continue playing for another 10 years at least. My hat is tipped to Bungie, and everyone who has been involved in, and continues to be involved in, the creation and longevity of this saga.
Roll on The Final Shape....and whatever comes next! (oh, and please finish Marathon too!) :-)

As a vet player who wants to wrap up the 10yrs.
There were so many small details in cuts in this Vidoc that made me FEEL this universe again.
(My predictions): our guardian gets a noble six send off, some characters in our classic roaster die (Arcite will sacrifice himself for Shaxx) we will defeat the witness but the result ends with some cosmic shift that results in a new “type” of Guardian with unlimited resonance to light and dark (heavier prismatic build crafting) priming the set up for your new D3 guardian
And honestly I’m here for all of that
If there is a "Lone Wolf" mission at the end of this entire story it would be such an amazing send off and a callback to reach.

Lightfall had all the hype in the world going into the expansion following the greatness of witch queen, stellar marketing, and a final cutscene that was a callback to the original image.
It's easy to say that the situations are once again mirrored with high expectations, amazing marketing, and a great cutscene in crow vs cayde.
This feels different though. I really feel like bungie is about to deliver a magnum opus, and if they don't then oh well.

@@THUNDERBOLT-IINot season's anymore, Episodes like mini expansions. First one is to do with the Vex, i think the 3rd is hive but the second one is either Cabal or Eliksni. Also The Witness is the raid boss. Episodes are an insight into what happens after the Witnesses death
I started playing Destiny when I was 14 years old in 2014. It's been a wild 10 years and I've grown and evolved along with this game so this ... this is special. I'm sure a lot of you have a similar story with this game. We were here in the beginning and now we're gonna ride out the end!
That guardian motif at the end is likely going to be the main motif for this expansion, and it's the grandest we've heard it throughout these 10 years
