I saw the Vegas show last week, which was supposed to be their last show. Amazing is an understatement. It was far and beyond the best concert I have ever seen. When giants get together to play extraordinarily difficult music with verve, joy, and ease, there is nothing quite like it. Hats off to these four geniuses.
They always look like they’re having so much fun. Something that was missing from most Crimson incarnations. Their joy really translates to the audience
I said the same thing too- saw beat in new hampshire- never mentioned John wetton. Yes he was in king crimson and yes he helped cowrite and play the bass guitar in in it first.
I should have been more precise with my comment, I wasn't saying that they were the only band to do this song justice, but to do the show justice. Carey and Vai are amongst my favorite all time musicians. Sorry about any confusion.
@morrisgautreau6704 - The “only” musicians who can do this this music justice? C’mon - lol For starters: th-cam.com/video/RvYxSSu3cOs/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUOZnJhY3R1cmUgY292ZXI%3D Apparently Fripp says she’s the only one he’s seen/heard who’s played this entirely correctly. She can probably do the 80’s era too…but Fracture is probably harder technically
I'd love to see a King Crimson collaboration with Maynard writing and singing vocals for some of the instrumental songs like this. It could be a match made in heaven
Alas I could never afford tickets to see my most oft listened to and attempted to mimic music in my lifetime. But I am sooo happy that these guys sold out their shows and brought in all of the financial appreciation they deserve. Bravo Beat!
Great energy and groove! Really enjoyed these little shreddy licks thrown in. Great bass lines, Tony Levin is killing it. Love the slimy green Parker. Steve could bring some Les Paul shaped Ibanez(ARZ? Artist?) though. It would be more adequate imho. Anyway lovely performance.
Made it look easy, watched the drummer most of the time. Ya should of mentioned John Wetton, his force was strong on that album. I think Starless was his baby, one of KC's best.
Regarding your comments about what you do: Only a Canadian would be so humble and selfless, and generally cool. FYI, my wife and I love to travel from Louisiana to Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, Halifax. J’adore Canada !
I actually passed on this tour( I know..idiot that I am) because I really only liked one song out of these 3 albums( The Sheltering Sky..Vai KILLS in this song)...Hearing them play RED is why I would have liked to have seen them.
🖤🖤🖤RIP John Wetton🖤🖤🖤
Here, here.

The last time I saw KC( which I recorded) about 6 years back....they were SURELY enjoying themselves.
This could be the one song to summarize prog rock. This performance is immaculate.
I'd love for Adrian to mention John Wetton in the intro too, RIP.
But sure is great to hear the music kept alive and these guys having a fun time
Fair point.
I thought the same thing. An oversight for sure.
I said the same thing too- saw beat in new hampshire- never mentioned John wetton. Yes he was in king crimson and yes he helped cowrite and play the bass guitar in in it first.
Well, it was a shout out, and he isnt alive, so...
@@deansusec8745 No, Dean, it wasn't a shout out. There was no mention of John Wetton from the stage.
Looks like a fantastic show! These are the only musicians good enough to do this justice. That's a lot of talent on that stage right there! Awesome!
Not really. Saw Darryl Hall and his band play it with Belew. They killed it. It's not hard to play; what's the big deal?
@@privateer0561 TOOL is my all time favorite band and Danny is top notch and I've been a Steve Vai fan since his Flexable album!

Any Jazz fusion musician will do justice. Steve Morse and his band will play it easily...
Great stuff👊 They all look like they're having a ball..... love the way Belew and Vai trade stupid noises
If they could tour with the Claypool Lennon Delirium that would be a bucket list show right there. 🥁 🎸 🔥
double trio....with claypool/lennon....
Hello from New Hampshire! Love you guys, and yes I was there in '84.
What a great show it was. Thanks for posting
Wow! BEAT Band!
Do you remember the Belew and Vai connection with the master Zappa?
I was not able to catch any of these shows please please please make a blu ray or at least an album please!!!
This is pretty much THE KC song of that era, and executed masterfully.
@mightymartianca yes but also starless and Bible black too.
I was there in Toronto in '84 when they played at the CNE Bandshell. It was a great show then and this one must have been epic.
I'd love to see a King Crimson collaboration with Maynard writing and singing vocals for some of the instrumental songs like this. It could be a match made in heaven
Maynard is overrated.
In 1974 my lovely sister was born and one of the best pro rock albums was produced.
Thank you .....and I thank them
Past & present

Just saw the show in Rochester New York!! 🤘👍

Foda!!
Fantastic job guys! Beautifully shot video as well!

I agree with you on all counts
One of the best progrock tracks.Period
thanks
Amazing!!! So Soo good!!
They’re touring their butts off!!😅
Made it look easy, watched the drummer most of the time.

Is there anything cooler than watching Tony mansplain his badass bass??
Unreal to think Tony Levin is 78! I barely looks and acts 58

Thanks for the kind words 🙏
More heavy sound please!

Now play Fracture!
strepitosi
Very nice though speeded up.
Blistering
If Vai can't play this stuff onstage in his pajamas he shouldn't be playing it at all. (pajamas with feet, Steve)
