Further notes on Illaoi, the tentacles also allow for a full combo when she is off screen from hard knockdowns and grabs when the opponents in the area of the tentacle which, as you mention has a scaling bug along with most grabs into combos and Ahri’s back assist Weakness is she losses to retreating guard rather easily, in the corner she loses to push block ALOT because it allows for her set up to be hit if she doesn’t immediately call it out with 4.S1 Also unlike Darius her big buttons function like Sim from SF where her long button have a hurtbox
I love how much he takes advantage from the simple inputs to just give you a ton of interesting options all the time. Ekko also does some really cool things with whether you create a new clone or go back to the old one, and so does Ahri to a lesser degree.
Yasuo is SUPER fun, I have definitely fallen in love with his play style. Great neutral, mobility, and tons of skill expression, all without feeling unbalanced. I feel like they really nailed Yasuo and Ekkos kits.
This game has really highlighted to me just how few big budget fighting games are western made. Tons of dope indie fighters from across the world but as far as high profile stuff goes we do not have shit aside from MK and this. Even KI was 11 years ago now...
They should let Fury users use the dash cancel outside of 40% HP, and then just keep the damage bonus at low health. As of right now, it's just not competitive enough.
Honestly kinda surprised you didnt mention yasuo's wind wall in his pluses. It's an extremely powerful tool for controlling space and shutting down zoning, even in a build with no true zoner characters. Yasuo pretty much controls neutral, and you have to respect wind wall at all times.
Real. His full screen stab through the wall is such a huge threat, especially if you're playing a character like Illaoi (the chip damage is insane). I've found the most success just bum-rushing it as soon as the Yas puts it out, but hyper aggression like that really easily leads to mistakes. It's a very powerful tool
fury is definitely weaker, but i'm totally new to tag fighters (but very experienced in sf/kof/gbvs/uni/etc) and i'm having enough trouble getting used to assists without making them even more complex, so i appreciate that it can at least give some upside while i'm learning. will probably switch to 2x assist eventually, unless they buff fury. i think the damage increase is reasonable as is, but it should kick in at 50% instead, since that's already a 1 touch situation most of the time in this game.
If Riot's business model succeeds (games are free, all characters are unlocked, but the game is full of cosmetics and relies primarily on whales) in the FGC, I hope that other companies try to copy it. Fighting games are incredibly expensive and if you look at their popularity in different countries, it becomes apparent that most FG players are from some of the wealthiest countries, while games like CS2, WoT, LoL, etc. which are free are most often played in poorer regions (LoL- Eastern Europe and S.Korea, WoT- Russia, Ukraine China, CS2: Russia, Europe, China). The FGC has been growing a lot in recent years and it doesn't seem like it's going to stop anytime soon, so games that remove the paywall are bound to explode in popularity (and I'm not talking about giving 1 character for free and locking 30 others with way better design behind a paywall). To this day, more people are playing the pirated version of CS1.6 than many established FG titles. 3rd Strike got "rediscovered" because it's free on Fightcade. People will play anything as long as it's free and whales are bound to appear to support the devs financially
Europe is not a poor region, it's a continent with some of the wealthiest countries in the world. China isn't poor. Russia isn't poor. South Korea definitely isn't poor. Free games will inevitably attract more players, so I agree with your general sentiment; however, the idea that wealth is holding back fighting games as a genre is a bit farfetched. Brazil has a lower GDP per capita than either China or Russia, but fighting games are pretty popular there. The reason there haven't been many F2P fighting games is because they aren't popular enough to make money with that model. Riot makes F2P games, they have massive marketing budgets, and they can afford to fail; most companies can't. I do think 2XKO will succeed though, not because of the model, but because it looks like a really fun game.
@@iwa9691 Pakistan is a poor country, but I doubt Arslan Ash grew up poor. Pakistan's GDP per capita is just under $1600 USD. That means the average person has to save for nearly 4 months to buy a game console (which isn't possible because you need money for other things, the actual time it would take is more like years if at all). It's true that poor people can't afford a $60 game, but they can't afford a $600 console or a PC to play free games either. If you're playing games and traveling for tournaments, that's not poverty. Pakistan has a population of 235 million. Most people are poor, but they still have 19 000 millionaires, and plenty of people doing just fine. Can't really compare this stuff on a country-by-country basis, you need to look at class.
@@unrighteous8745 He played in an arcade. Also he said that his region was full of hidden bosses on par with his level the first year he travelled out of region and took over.
@@iwa9691 Was just trying to make the point that you do you need some money to play video games. Most countries in the world have a good chunk of people with the funds to play in arcades or buy game systems. I did a bit of research; it sounds like Arslan Ash wasn't rich, but he wasn't poor either. He says he stole coins to play at his local arcade, but I can't imagine his parents never bought him any (pretty sure he'd get caught stealing for years). There are a lot of people in Pakistan that barely have enough food and water to survive; playing in arcades isn't an option for them. I'm sure there are a lot of very talented people out there who never reach their full potential because they lack the resources.
Loving all the content Iv seen from the game so far. Only criticisms I have as a spectator is the animation/polish in some of the supers seems a bit underwhelming, but there is plenty of time for polish
I think fuse is the least favorite aspect of the design. It's one of those cases where it's bit too much option to frontload for new players, but it's also bound to be too restrictive for high level play as the game gets figured out. CVS comes to mind with the groove system where a newbie feels the need to know every groove, but competitive is just "roll cancel or bust"
yohosie confirmed that the damage scaling reset off illaoi tentacles is technically not a bug but rather an 'oversight' so i wonder if it might still be super strong in the full release
I understand 2xko is where the contents at rn and all the guys are having a blast playing it but as a gg player with no real interest in this game I’m just sad that no one has made a tier list for 3.3 after 2 weeks😢

por que no los dos?
If you don't have fun. Why bother ?
I personally cannot get emotionally invested in a game that is going to dissappear in a few days
Maybe it's the small roster? Or maybe that most of the upcoming characters are likely to be paid DLC? If that's the case then I'm depressed too

Ahri feels like she has no neutral outside of S1 and jump over call assist. Def not a point character.
