Fulfilling the order of Emhyr, he took Ciri out of the city and took her to Nilfgard. But she managed to escape. After that, she met a witcher and began her training at Kaer Morhen. But she constantly had nightmares where she was pursued by a black rider in a helmet with wings. Cahir really fell in love with Ciri. But first he tried to capture her on Emhyr's orders. And every time Ciri managed to escape from him. Subsequently, Cahir stopped following the order of the emperor and joined Geralt, who was looking for Ciri. But when Cahir finally found her, he almost immediately died protecting Ciri from the mercenary Leo Bonhart. Bonhart was a very dangerous opponent. He even killed witchers and carried their amulets as trophies. Therefore, Cahir had no chance against Leo Bonhart. Ciri manages to kill Bonhart not by her fighting skills but by cunning. The fate of Cahir is very sad. For many years he was looking for the girl he loved and she was afraid of him. When he found her and it seemed that everything might work out for them, Cahir died.😟
I don't know what will happen in the series. And I've been reading books for a very long time, even before the appearance of the game. In the books, Cahir dies trying to protect Ciri. Ciri didn't love him. She remembered him as her stalker and was afraid. That short meeting before Cahir died was not enough for Ciri to get to know him better and possibly love him.

As much as I would love to ship Ciri and Cahir too, because that would be wonderfully romantic, I most of all see Cahir as a troubled soul with too many childhood traumas, killings and mistakes in his trail. Also, they kind of have the same father; Emhyr, who apparently took Cahir under his wing as a young boy and gave him opportunities, that led him to become a Nilfgaardian commander. That makes Ciri and Cahir «siblings», in a way. Just with different fates. Now Cahir sees Ciri as a saviour, to the world and to himself, and wants to do all the wrongs in his life right by helping her fulfill her destiny. (Unconsciously I think he wants to save his own soul, but it’s a little too late for that...) I haven’t read the books, so this is only based on the info we get in the series (S1-S3). Can’t wait to see how this goes in season 4, because after S3 this dynamic duo are really starting to get interesting - and Eamon Farren plays this troubled character oh, so well!

(I have heard many arguments and have many of my own bur won’t get into them now since you didn’t mention any of this lolz.) And yes, I would say Cahir has done a lot of extremely wild things, including specifically to Ciri. However, it is a fascinating journey for both of them, and I agree that Cahir is fantastic.
