Cool stuff, but Geralt it's not accurate to books, rather to Cavill. Face of Geralt is described as unpleasant to watch, most similar image come from first game The Witcher. Also Geralt is described as superhumanly fast and relied on speed and precision rather than strength in combat, so too much muscle mass would be redundant.

A lot of the depictions I could look past like Yen and Triss, but I genuinely had to do a double take because the show's version of Fringilla looked literally nothing like what was described in the books or shown in the games
The fact that the text describes Yennefer's skin as "porcelain" should tell you all you need to know based on a level of understanding of what the color and origin of porcelain is. In no uncertain terms, the text describes Yennefer as white. We all know why Netflix did it, but it's extra dumb with the fact that the text was not at all ambiguous about it at all: black hair, violet eyes, porcelain (white) skin, and raven-black clothing. The same could be said of the other characters for whom skin tone has been established in description
Calanthe was actually my favourite part of the show (perhaps because she was new to me - I had nothing to compare her to), and both the actress and the character were just really cool.
She had one funny scene I kept dying when she kept filling up beer mugs with flowers. Besides being body positivity black b!tch it was dumb asf using her the way they did
You know what, the film producer should use these AI to get an image of what the character should look like based on the books descriptions before doing a cast.
It's clear based off of these depictions that casting people to be accurate to the source material was the least of their concerns. They just wanted "diversity". 🙄
"Rather, Geralt is actually quite an evil-looking witcher, with hollowed-out eyes, pale skin, and a face that's marred by scars.".....Total miss on Geralt. Not sure what key words were put into the AI, but in the Books Geralt is known to be "hard on the eyes" and that's putting it mildly. Henry nails the game version of Geralt, but not the book. (Don't take this wrong, without Henry, the show is dead. He is perfect for the role. He's just too good looking to be book Geralt)
My only issue with Yen is she's supposed to have "a torrent of curly black hair" and the ai made her hair more wavy than curly, which Netflix also did. The games made her hair a little bit curlier. From her description in the books I'd expect her to almost look like she has a perm. Also, I love how the ai basically made Geralt just look like Henry.😂 Even though he's not supposed to be very attractive in the books.
That's because of how it works, it just looks at existing images, so if there are lots of pictures that show a different character than book accurate it will still use them because of their frequency. That's why for Geralt it just gives the show version. There are like a billion different images of Henry Cavill from the show.
Well AI made everyone too attractive (apart from sorceresses because that's justified) and kind of looking the same, like every man had the same model jawline. Probably because it's pulling from a limited database of online images of celebrities and influencers, most photoshoped and with filters.
@@zolikoffhe's never explicitly described as ugly just rugged and hard featured. He is described as having a very unpleasant smile. particularly when it's a mocking one.

From these comments it seems you would all rather have models than actors, cos AI will come up with the best looking faces and acting isn't always about that. Every single AI construction here is a model with perfect symmetrical faces, not a flaw to be seen. Life doesn't work like that. Not everyone can be this strikingly goodlooking. It's unrealistic to expect perfection on the level that AI will create it.

AI learns from the internet and the internet is statistically 80% porn and 15% advertisement... no wonder it is very good at producing beautiful people. The AI Yen and Renfri are stunning. And its hilarious that the AI Geralt is just... Henry Cavill.
I don’t want to be THAT guy but that actress they got for Fringilla seems so wrong. It’s not even a racial thing, there’s plenty of good looking black girls but she doesn’t seem like the kind of girl that would seduce you and make you dawdle in Toussaint and forget your quest.
No hate towards Anya Chalotra (actor of Yen), I thought she did great given what she dealt. Writer's did her character poorly (in respect to the source material). She doesn't look like the source material describes -- but if they had kept the events of the story true to the source material then I wouldn't have minded.
I'm not gonna lie....these 'Ai images' they are quite good :) funnily enough it is better depiction than the casting choices of the netflix show haha. Renfri in particular I like, the book fidelity in the hair color even. But the best is probably the queen Calanthe...now THIS is how you depict her! :) She's feminine and still beautiful though mature and she's not wildly out of place in looks in comparison to her daughter Pavetta and granddaughter Cirilla like the actress they chose for the show!
I really liked Cahir and Renfri in the show. I think the Renfri actress also could have played Triss. And AI Renfri looks like a perfect Ciri. AI Geralt looks way too handsome. Remember in the books he said, he has an ugly smile, when he saw the doppler copying him. But in general, AI humans looks pretty much the same and very inspired by western beauty standards.
Renfri's changed looks wasn't a problem, since her look didn't play a role in any arc - unlike for example Fringilla's. Cahir was bad, but also not really due to his look, but to character and behavior changes.
Western beauty standards...pretty rascist. I uave seem enough ai not white pictures not look like white people. People like beauty world over. And what if 'white' features are considered beautifull by most humans? I BET you would not have an issue if that was said about ANY other race their features. On top of that blame women for all that nonsens not men. Since it is women buying and watching all that not men. You just portrayed a lot of ignorance amd some rascism there. Stop hating 'white' things. That race is no less amd no more then any other. But in these times it is tue least rascist race otherwise i am erger tonlearn which race you deem more tolerant, open, prone to intermarry, convert, make mixed familie, learn the others culture and language and integratie their customs into their home and nation. Ridiculous. Just because even though that race is the one that developed latest they won some battles over races thatvhad thousends of years of a head start. It easily could have been different. All! Races were conquerers and slavers well before whites. They just dared to cross seas and travel into the unknown more. That is all.
I've only read a small part of the books, but Geralt's eyes are described as being dark, not yellow. I think the game devs took the concept of witchers having "cat-like" eyes and made it literal.
They chose perfect actress for Calanthe, the only missing part were her hair. I would say that Fringilla would have pixie hairstyle, that would be the only change. Jaskier was perfect, the show runners just messed up his character. As for Yennefer I think Grazyna Wolszczak (Polish TV series from 2001) portrayed her much better. First her hair were more curly. Second , all the witches in this TV series look like girls on the Prom. She looked like a real woman.
I love Henry, probably the only positive thing in this atrocity, but Żebrowski is still far better cast - more raw, wild, fierce, manly but scary, intimidating. Well, Nivellen is cool too, even though still far from the books, but he's got the same energy. I don't mind him looking like a boar instead of a bear. But still, Gwent cards from Witcher Wild Hunt ruined my imagination - I wished for the naked gal to make a ride to scare the trespassers on a wild Nivellen 😆
I would put the casting of Yennefer lower on the latter. Since the actress swears alot haha. Vilgefortz has to look like a northern realms mage, so i think the actor is good but they should not put him more into foreigner costumes. The robe they used in the second volume does not fit him, at least it does not fit the character. Maybe giving him White/black and blueish robes would fit him better. Maybe also Harrypottterstyle works XD. The Queen looks and acts well apart from the hair she is a good choice in my opinion.
Vesemir's handlebar moustache in the Netflix series made me cry it was that bad. The AI goatee and chops are far more dignified. The show made him look and sound like a biker 😭😭
@@tringuyen7519 these are characters described by the author of the books as being white. Their descriptions were specific. I suppose you have to type in the prompts to make ai art with other skin color or characteristics. That's how it works.
Yennefer isn’t even meant to be godly gorgeous. It even describes in the book, according to Geralt, that some would find her unattractive but there was a unique look to her face that drew people in. Everyone’s wanting how game Yen looked.
You should also note that Geralt's overall judgemental and inquisitive attitude was present. Everyone who sees Yennefer believe she's goddess. Ciri thought nobody can be that beautiful until she saw Margarita(Which they casted as some cubby black woman)
Yes, because Ciri isn’t considered an attractive child ( she grows into her looks ), and the only woman she admired was her grandmother. I don’t remember there being anywhere in the book where people talked about Yen’s good looks. She was beautiful, but in an unconventional and ethereal way. Ciri thought her gorgeous from the way she behaved and her confidence. Geralt stated her features were uneven, asymmetric. She wasn’t ‘everyone’s taste’. I could go back and try to find the exact words used to describe her.
“Yennefer, although attractive in her own way, couldn’t pass as a great beauty... in actual fact, not many would describe sorceresses as good-looking... She had the figure of a twenty-year-old, although he preferred not to guess her real age. She moved with natural, unaffected grace.” I believe her power and the way she holds herself attracts people to her. Geralt grows to love her, therefore sees her as beautiful. Basically she’s not some flawless goddess. She’s a real woman with flaws, and that’s what I loved about her. And yes, Ciri does claim her to be beautiful, but she’s a child. Yen became a strong role model in her life. Yen was obsessed with her looks and would always take care of her skin with creams and tonics, which Ciri would always watch.
You kinda miss the point of Yen using glamours to get easy access in Gors Velen with how people overall adored her. Only person who says she's not that impressive was Geralt, back when he was suspicious and untrusting towards her @@nemofish3504

Nah, it's because his appearance was specified in Season of Storms which came out in 2013, by that point Witcher 1 and Witcher 2 already came out and people got used to seeing Dandelion with dark hair.
At Geralt you see, AI just creates random model faces here. Geralt here looks nothing like described in the books.

Yennefer from Bollywood

The yellow catlike eyes are more iconic imo
Yen and Fringilla are stunning
She moved with natural, unaffected grace.”
I believe her power and the way she holds herself attracts people to her.
Not to mention, Yen uses an elixir that makes her appear more beautiful and youthful, and also has an enchanting quality to it.
You kinda miss the point of Yen using glamours to get easy access in Gors Velen with how people overall adored her.
Only person who says she's not that impressive was Geralt, back when he was suspicious and untrusting towards her @@nemofish3504
You know I’ve never realised this before, but dandelion/ Jaskier is such a unique character, in the sense that his appearance could literally be anything (from a short guy with straight black hair, to a tall dude with curly blonde hair), because his appearance really doesn’t matter, Jaskier is defined by his personality and as long as you bring that, it’s all good❤
Nah, it's because his appearance was specified in Season of Storms which came out in 2013, by that point Witcher 1 and Witcher 2 already came out and people got used to seeing Dandelion with dark hair. Even today many struggle to picture him as a blonde bc they played the games and know Dandelion as a brunette.
@maxpotapenko4632 but you can literally make him have short black or long blonde in the game and they both suit him.
@@sladewilson9718 bc people got used to both by now
They all look the same with different wigs.
Just look how beautiful Fringilla is in the book description and how ugly in fucking Netflix
the book and the game put white and straight person
netflix: make them black and gay
