I bought the tape for it as soon as it came out. These boys are the best thing to ever come out of Australia. Well, aside from those excellent dark side videos you never seem to do anymore.
None of us knew in 1991 but this was the pinnacle of a rock show, everything at the time seemed to be moving forward, life slipped by and without anybody noticing the West had reached its peak in everything!

I whole heartedly would do anything to be be born being able to experience this time of the world, times where so much simpler, music brought the world together. It’s an honor to be able to listen to it today, but man you mfs are lucky to see this shit live. I’d Fr cry
Look at fans today at concerts. They just stand there. Look at the absolute MAELSTROM and CHAOS of these batshit crazy fans. They put more effort into enjoying themselves at an ACDC concert than an Olympic Marathon runner does when competing for a medal!
I was born in 95 and grew up around my dad and his friends we would watch this on vhs all the time. I caught a tail end glimpse of the end of an amazing era I would not even know about until later. But man if I could have lived my 20s out in the 90s life would have been so much simpler
Yes I saw them 1979 2 months before Bon Scott died Than again in 1981 With Brian Johnson A local group called MAYHEM Rocked the “ Silver Bullett” bar In East Hampton CT ACDC cover ! 80’s baby Craziest >best decade to be in my 20’s Amazing to be me: then🤓 I am greatful
ACDC is one of my favourite groups i am 81years old i watch this video every night i wish There was still playing today absolutely 💯 fantastic Good night iam going to bed 🛌 thanks ACDC ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Chris Slade on drums is just what ACDC needs for these big shows, the power he brings to the songs, like he pushes these guys hard man! What a show!!! Heatseeker among others is a perfect example! Rock on good people!
As much as I like Phil "The Human Metronome" Rudd, I agree that Chris Slade fits the character of the band more than Phil. Chris bangs those skins like he's trying to crush them and the manic wild-man look fits the character of the band more than Phil with his scholarly look.
I was ther 17 th aug 91, now today 17 aug 24, I am going today in Croke park Dublin with my 25 yr old daughter and 20 yr old son. Life is good A life to the sound of DC, not too shabby.
Don't know if it will give you the same goosebumps, but check the 2001 Rock in Rio Iron Maiden's live intro, it traumatized my teenagehood in the best way ever. Cheers.
Chris Slade is the reason why I'm a drummer. I saw this performance when I was young and I said: wow! He's crazy, he's possessed, I wanna play this way! So I bought a Pearl drum.
Chris was/is a beast of a player. Being a drummer myself, listening to this on the LIVE album and then seeing this many times over the years, my jaw still drops at his precision and power..
Oh, common, there's no way to say that Phil Rudd is one of the best drummer of all time and the best drummer of ACCA/DACCA. Chris isn't bad, but nobody can beat Phil "the snake" Rudd.
I recall AC/DC playing in a small supermarket in Melbourne, Australia in September 1975 promoting their first album, Amazing when I look now and see what they became...The greatest rock'n'roll band in history!
What I love most about ACDC. IS the engery..Brian and the gang..give their blood and guts to the fans..how Angus dance around and not do all the worlds snow tobkeep it up I dont know..rock on ACDC ROCK ON.
I'm 18 years old and from gen z and I love AC/DC, they are one of my most favorite bands ever and I love every member. I don't care what anyone from my generation says this is real music and I love it. May they rock on 🤘😝.
@@g.s.1722 how so? They kept him from 1989 to 1993-4 until Phil returned for Ballbreaker. If Angus and Mal shat on him, he wouldn`t have returned to replace Phil again in 2014....
@@comraderomania7988 They shat on him cause he did no wrong in the band - got rid of him due to Phil wanting to return to the band after their success with Razors Edge and this tour. In fact he improved their sound and muscial abilities to play aray of songs even in faster tempo. Let 's not forget his stage presence. Chris was so devestated by his axing, he didn't touch a drum stick for three years after that. And they only got him back for the Rock Or Bust tour cause he knew a lot of the songs and has the ability to learn songs quickly. Then after the tour, didn't even tell him to his face that he's out of the band again. Ruthless.
One of the best rock concerts of the past few decades. Bands were incredible, sound was amazing, crowd was huge, and everyone was well behaved. Truly the ideal festival. Notable mention: no people filming on their cell phones! LOL
There wasn't any cells phones back then. Other than Motorola Bricks that cost $3000 dollars, and service that cost $200 per month and 50cents a minute to talk.
This is one of the best live performances by AC/DC ever! Angus Young is a guitar legend and Brian Johnson has a voice of steel. The whole band is tight and in sync and they deliver a show that is unforgettable.
@@ogrebattle22763 The vocals of Brian May and Roger Taylor notwithstanding, Queen was largely a one man show. Freddie Mercury was the main focal point at their concerts, and certainly for good reason. The other members didn't possess much charisma or presence onstage, while Freddie had it in spades. Not to mention that he was an exceptionally gifted vocalist. The rest of the band should've seen the writing on the wall long before Freddie died. Carrying on without him almost would've been like The E Street Band carrying on without Bruce Springsteen. Not quite, but almost. Uhhhh....I guess I'm saying you may be correct. But.....regardless of whether one felt blown away after seeing an AC/DC show, you'd be hard pressed to find another band that appears to have as much of a blast performing onstage than these guys.

It was a good line up that day. I think it didn't rain also which was good. It was amazing when AC/DC took to the stage. One of the best shows I've ever seen. Metallica were also great.
Gee they sound bloody good live. I don't know a lot about AC/DC but I can't understand how anyone can underrate Brian as a lead. He's a killer lead vocal.
Lots of Brian era albums are good. Back in Black, Flick of the Switch, Fly on the Wall, Blow Up Your Video, The Razors Edge, Stiff Upper Lip, Rock or Bust, Power Up.
I haven't read that...yet. If I ever did I'd rip into them and curse them to go deaf! They're not worthy. It bugs me enough that dicks compare Brian and Bon. Unnecessary and insulting to those of us that love both. Bon is in the music. He will always be with us. Now we've lost Mal too.
@@Aiden-cp7kl all of them are pretty good, people complain cause his voice changed , of course it did he was getting in his 50s and 60s, no other rock singer can sing like him at that age

I really don't understand why fans don't rate Chris Slade higher. He really nails this concert - so much power - and that's really what makes AC/DC special.
I know … he only made 1 album with them too and 2 tours the man’s an absolute beast on the drums, imo they should have given him the chance to record the last 2 albums but they stuck with Phil no fills 😂
I have to agree with you. The Razors Edge album came out and then this on DVD. Totally changed my taste in music and loved Chrs Slade for his brilliant performance. He really took ACDC to another level in both live and in the studio!
My favorites, AC/DC and Jethro Tull. I understand, no comparison, being 68 years old give me a brake. But I love rock, and greatness. Both bands had great drummers as well. Chris Slade, you are beyond fantastic. Watching your face, your playing, you love what you. We are the beneficiary of it all. Thank you Chris, thank you AC/DC. Thank you TH-cam. @@pancak3898 never have seen him live, so can't say YAY or nay. Wasn't a big GNR fan back in the day but dug Audioslave a sheiton so yeah he could be in there. But Angus has been doing it forever and wouldn't doubt he'd STILL try to hop around the stage like a 20yo. :)
This is without a doubt the best dammed ever rock n roll band ever. I am so lucky to have been born in the same time frame as them give or take. I have loved them since I was 13 and haven’t looked back. They inspired me to learn to play guitar and I am still playing in spades today. They have brought so much joy and happiness to my life. I think I saw you there!! Wow what a coincidence!! I was third from the right, front row, back a bit.......no, a bit more......shuffle slightly forward....there i am!!! 😎
This was AC/DC at their utmost pinnacle. The VHS that changed everything. It was long awaited for them to headline this gig and you can see Angus feeding of the crowds amazing energy right from the start
My sister and I both had a love for rock 'n’ roll music I remember when we both went to AC/DC concert in Cooma Australia in 1973 I was only 13 years old. There was only 100 people there but we danced around the hall like a couple of chooks.
There was no internet to speak of in 1991. Email & NNTP groups were just starting and normal people never heard of the "internet". The early cell phones like the Motorola DynaTAC 8800X "bricks" were just coming out and cost $3000 dollars.
Anybody that rips on acdc for putting out the same album 10 times I tell them yup, they only do one thing but they do it at the highest level. ACDC is the greatest hard rock band.
I was 1 years old when this gig was played. My dad came home with this DVD one day and I laughed at the date on it….how could a gig played in the 90’s be any good? We sat and watched it and the Ignorance was immediately drained from me with the Thunderstruck intro. I was blown away and they instantly became my favourite band on the planet. The wall of sound is just unbelievable.
No great props .... No overdressed attire ..... No great flash ..... Just pure unadulterated R&R ...... Many people go to major concerts in large venues to see a "Show" ..... No so with these guys ..... People pay to hear simple R&R and take in the energy that emits from this band ..... Nothing more nothing less 💯
But they do put on the show...the lighting, the inflatables, the bell, Angus running around all over the place in a school boy uniform. Saw Pearl Jam years ago in a big stadium...boring as fuck! It was like they brought their small pub set up to a 55,000 seat arena...
I was 15 years old when Thunderstruck was released. I’m 47 years old now and it still hits as hard just as much as it did 32 years ago. I get goosebumps during the intro every time the song comes on.
I bought this dvd in the early 2000's, put it on among some local young friends including a 19 yr. old guitar player who was at that age where he thought he was cool with his music, nice guy too. When Angus started playing about 60 seconds in my young friend had a look on his face i'll never forget. He was absolutely mesmerized, he'd never seen or heard anything like it in his life
Rock'n roll keeps you young. (Especially if your name is young). Same with the guys from the Rolling stones. Their motto is "a Rolling Stone carries no moss". Keith richards is alive coz rock n roll keeps him young.
I was there! It was an absolutely incredible day, enjoyed all the bands. Well, except Crue, because we always ragged on them at the time, lol. Highlights for me were Queensryche, Metallica and of course AC/DC. The bottles of piss going up in the air during the Metallica set is something that has stayed with me in my memories for all these years. I was 18 at the time. I lost the AC/DC money over the years that was blown in the air, I did have two of them for a while with Angus face on them. I still have the T shirt from that day all these years later. Best gig I ever went to, hands down. Just an all around amazing time of my life, and this gig captures the spirit of those years for me in one go.
The beginning of the show when Angus comes out n starts thunderstruck, n as far as the eye can see is nothing but people. Its unreal and so awesome!! I couldn't imagine that feeling to b on stage playin for all those people. 💪🔥💥🎶🎤🎸📣📢🔊🔌🔋💣 AC⚡DC
The drummer during "let there be rock" was insane to keep that intensity through the whole song let alone the whole concert. My favourite ACDC concert of all time. Rock on!!!
I was at amotorbike race in le mans France a few years ago, they had an evening concert. Chirs slades band di a full set of covers of bands he has played with, mostly DC and had different singers, even for the Bon and Brian tracks, it was freaking awesome.
I grew up watching this on vcr with my dad after being born in 95. Literally brought tears to my eyes how stocked I got to see it again. I wish times were this simple
Fantastic audience... 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, we reached another millennium (2000) and the good concerts and happy and free audiences are over. No phones, a paradise.
I wasnt into rock back then but i lived in chilwell about 10 miles from donington park and we could hear it...i remember asking whats that...and someone said its AC/DC at donington....❤️❤️❤️
I gotta get this DVD again. RIP to my step dad since 2009. This was something we watched often 😂 at hone concerts moshing in the living room pissing off my mother.
@@paulpv7 yes, probably lots of them in music. I just think there's been no one better. Like sometimes a mark of a really great, great, guitarist isn't how many notes he can play in a bar, or be a virtuoso, but rather when not to play and let the other guitar play. The Youngs accented one another, worked off one another, just knew what the other was thinking and where they were going. That's not just thousands of hours of playing together, that's beyond... musically, that's the same DNA.

Scary aspect to this amazing concert is it's 32 years ago in 2023. It really makes you feel very old yet ACDC are timeless
I bought the tape for it as soon as it came out. These boys are the best thing to ever come out of Australia.

Awesome comment. Where did 1991 go? Or 1978 for that matter.
@@stephenmystery8313, what on earth are "dark side" videos? :/
None of us knew in 1991 but this was the pinnacle of a rock show, everything at the time seemed to be moving forward, life slipped by and without anybody noticing the West had reached its peak in everything!
Nailed it - this was the peak - the early 90’s …..
@@Dragonballguy270 Was more of a feelgood factor after the cold war ended, there was a recession on the back of the coke fuelled 80s and it was well represented in the rise of Grunge.

As much as I like Phil "The Human Metronome" Rudd, I agree that Chris Slade fits the character of the band more than Phil. Chris bangs those skins like he's trying to crush them and the manic wild-man look fits the character of the band more than Phil with his scholarly look.

@@stacypollock9289 There isn't anyone better. You can feel the synergy between Ang/Mal. No one else compares even though there are other good duo's. This was a rhythm and lead duo and not a double lead like those other guys. The best ever r.i.p Mal!
Definitely the perfect guitar duo there.
You won’t get anyone like those two anymore
These guys played for nearly two hours unbelievable legends
Absolutely right!
I saw them on the black ice tour and they played just as long that was in 2010
I got to see this group in 1995 at the capital center in landover maryland. They are my uncles favorite group. I was only 16 at the time but man did i have fun. I remember my ears ringing for several days after that concert. Cant be good for your ears
This looks to me to be the best rock gig of all time
Amazing gig!
So many fans Holy shit
After Metallica in Moscow - I was at both 🤘🏼🎸
If only they had someone who could sing those songs.
@@alanconnelly3921 This was only 80,000 odd as the festival had to cut numbers after people died in the crush a few years earlier when Maiden were headlining (the crush happened at the start of Guns 'n Roses set) There were 120,000 at that one I was there both years. Was amazing being in the middle of so many people! Great days...great gigs!
What an opener, there is no album I've played so much in my life. Chris Slade, what a machine, Cliff Williams rocksolid foundation through the ages
AC DC absolutely the BEST ever...what would we do.without them...the world as we know it is complete with AC DC!! ?
