    When driving Bribie, especially going to Poverty, run 12-18 pound pressure. There's something about the silicon content of the sand is different to most places in SEQ that makes the sand so powdery and loose. Most people avoid the inland track and go up the beach then cross at the top of the island.

    • @SarahandKeelanTravels
      @SarahandKeelanTravels  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      for sure! 100% agree with this now we have seen the track!

      Agree, Bribie is usually softer than Moreton, Teewah and Straddie.

    Yeah Mate, been there done that. Had to eventually drop down to 15 psi in the 4wd & 20 in the Van to get through. 3 Tonne Van & 4cyl TD Pathfinder. Bloody soft sand, but Poverty Creek was worth it, lovely camp-site. Just nailed it when leaving, no issues!

    Used to go to Bribie a lot many years ago. Great spot.
    I remember getting stuck on the beaches up Cape York when working in Weipa. If we got stuck, we'd roll the spare wheel out the length of the winch cable, tie it to the spare wheel, bury it in the sand & winch away. A very slow process, but it worked.
    Love how Leroy stepped up to the plate there.
    Some very skillful driving, too, of course. Good on ya team. 😊

    30psi on the van is high, bad starting point... 20psi would have been better all round but given you're towing, down to 13 for the 200 and 15 on the van. At least it was your first call after stalling out. A good recovery. Good to see a young fella be smart and know how to restart on soft sand.
    Bllody hell, check the size of that crab, MONSTA.

      Hey Liam! like we said, had no idea about the track.. could of been a hard road for all we knew, thats why we only dropped a little to start with, cheers for watching and commenting!! haha monster crab aye.

      @liamcooper6721 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SarahandKeelanTravels Yeah its a little hard to guess but if a track says no vans or campers only near a beach or on islands, its a 98% chance it's because of soft sand.

    Go Leroy woohoo, have you considered using eco 9, we done the Simpson in our LDV T60, and on our way out I used AC and the car sounded like a strangled cat, but on the way back I used E9 and it kept the revs down and managed to crawl through the fluffy sand without wheel spin

    Bit less air? 18 ish at beginning maybe. Good point about van width and stopping early and not bogging down.
