One of the better live black metal bands I have seen personally. Was in for the soundcheck at Vitus and these dudes were meticulous with getting their sound just right. Once Atlas Moth finished up these guys came on and completely destroyed the joint. Never felt so attacked by music.
Just curious who else you might recommend in that same vein. I really love Altar of Plagues and never got the opportunity to see them live as I got into them too late.
i miss these guys even though i never got to see them live. interesting looking dudes though, i don't i've ever seen what they look like. funny how they kind of look like a family. the dude on the left looks like their dad, the singer is like the star child, and the drummer is the youngest who is rebelling against them all with long hair and whatnot, haha.
I saw their gig at 2012, when there was no "teethed glory and injury", and that gig was super awesome. Deep atmosphere, one of the best gigs I ever seen. :) P.S It doesn't mean I don't like "Teethed...", I do like, it was just a bit different..let's say "style of their art".
Who gives a shit what they look like... the important thing is that they broke up and a band of this nature almost has a responsibility to stay together. They were brilliant.
charles mosley Kind of would like to delve deeper into this but really, really don't feel the need to do it... but thank you Charles for pointing that out :). As far as I know and my opinion goes = black metal is music and lyrics thus satanic lyrics make metal black. Musically some bands can sound like their black metal counter parts but not having darker/satanic/misanthropic/etc lyrics makes the band not black metal. But then again, who am I to say anything... This has nothing to do with Altar of Plagues though, just a comment to justsaynoNWO.
The great lost band, wish they were still here
Same! My brother showed me them when I was in high school around 2015. They got me into this genre. Amazing band!
It's awesome that it gets darker after each song.
At 15:30 He discards his beer and immediately takes a swig of another. Like a true Irishman.

Black Metal 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Back on the stage! We need this.
Only recently got into these guys. I’m a little jealous of anyone who got to see them
I have a good feeling that im gonna be coming back to this video many times and enjoying it!!!
Просто нечто! Жаль что они распались, очень жаль! Охуенная банда была!!!!! Сколько лет уже подряд переслушиваю их
да, братан. очень самобытные
God, talk about just letting the music speak for itself. No black metal posturing - love it.
Really wish I'd got to see these.
37:23 neptune is dead

hahah thats a very good analogy. never thought about it like that

These guys are awesome
This bad needs more love.
They need a bass player, maybe another guitarist too.
Nah the two guitars work, but yes, Bass is necessary
dark bombastic evening, yeah i love them too hahahahah truueeeee shiiiirttt
Amazing..
definitely miss a bass player in there!
It's just the second part of the song "Scald Scar of Water".
EXCELENTE MÚSICA
Does anyone know if they had a bass backing track?
Nope. Not from what I remember / from what it's heard in this video.
No rest just a brief pause and into the next song
never realised they had no bassist.
use to
Where's Dave Condon? Also, is that Jeremiah Spillane on guitars?
He is Stavros Giannopoulos, from The Atlas Moth, Chrome Waves and Twilight. He played many times with Altar of Plagues.
David Meinhof That Altar/Moth tour was fucking killer.
David Meinhof Also, that doesnt look like Stav.
David Meinhof
Damn, nevert got the chance to catch them live. Ugh.
David Meinhof
No, that's Jeremiah Spillane.
Is this the same drummer as on the studio version?
These guys...
I like the black metal without the stupid satanic imagery and lyrics
That's not really black metal then, is it?
Tomi Mykkänen Yes it is
Tomi Mykkänen Tomi you should learn that music isnt about the image its about the music :)
charles mosley

Following your logic, Robert Johnson would be the creator of black metal?
Setlist?
Amen Ra
