    Purchased this monitor when it was released and am using it with my PS5 and M1 MacBook Pro. So far I’m loving it except for some parts of the HDR. I say some parts because when watching movies and gaming in HDR, I notice the local dimming (when set to high) causing the image to exhibit haloing that looks different from what I’ve seen in other Sony LED backlight displays. This only happens in a pitch black room with no bias lighting but it’s actually kinda distracting. To the point where I feel like turning local dimming to low is a better option with HDR content. I find it’s most noticeable with contrasty HDR movie scenes but when you know what to look for it’s noticeable with pretty much all HDR content. You get haloing in the form of squiggly white lines that move around frame depending where highlighted objects/subjects are in the frame. Not sure if it’s just my panel but given that the monitor has none of the screen defects people have been posting online about, I want to say I have a solid panel. Just wondering if anyone can add to this discussion. I love this monitor and if this is a normal backlight consequence on a 27 inch screen, I’m willing to put up with it. But if it’s a defect, then I feel like I should swap it out while the return window is still good. Thanks all 🤘🏼

      I just purchased this monitor yesterday and I have the same impressions as you. HDR looks great for this monitor. I did have to set the local dimming to "low" and it looks better. This is probably my LG OLED C1's fault, but 1080p text looks "soft" to me lol

      @@tonyjr6667 I recommend it. It’s been a great experience with it, and the plus side for me is the ports and display. While some voice concern over it not having HDR1000, HDR 600 looks great here and you aren’t getting a lesser experience for it. 4K looks great and 144hz. Plus the 27” screen is perfect for gaming and productivity. Definitely keeping this monitor.

    Thank you for the insight. I'm definitely going to get the M9 monitor, It looks perfect for my needs. I went with the Arctis 7P+ instead of the H9 headset, I just can't justify the $300 price tag on them.

    • @armen1136
      @armen1136 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@xenon_shrinky5645 I was going to, but after looking up more reviews, none of these headsets seem like they're worth the price. I'm also not a fan of mic sticking out the way it does. Maybe if they release a version without the mic later on I might consider getting one, But I honestly think the headsets are overpriced. The only thing that seems nice is the comfort. Not saying these headsets are awful, But there are alternatives for much better value.

    • @xenon_shrinky5645
      @xenon_shrinky5645 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@armen1136 there doesn't seem many reviews on the H7 tho. All the people that got hands on have the H3 and H9.
      But from what I can see, H7 is basically the H9 without noice cancelation and leather earcups, but better battery life and 70 cheaper.
      That looks like a better deal to me.

    • @armen1136
      @armen1136 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@xenon_shrinky5645 Yeah it is a better deal, but I got the Arctis 7P+ for around $140, so It's still more expensive than those. Maybe if they go on sale I might give them a try. I'm not much of a competitive gamer, and these headsets seem to be aimed more towards that. I mainly play story games, So There are better options on the market for my needs.

      @@armen1136 yeah originally the arctis p7+ were 200 now they are around 150. Really good deal ( many awards for best headset ). One feature I miss is the 2.4 ghz connection and Bluetooth connection at the same time, so you can use discord.
      Would have thought ps5 would have a discord application by now.

    Oddly, the INzone M9 comes out in late august officially...while the Cooler Master GP27-FUS comes out shortly after and has 5x the zones. So might be one to wait for if you want to spend ~$200 more dollars.
    Or just spend the ~$200 more on a Neo G7 now...since VA panels are fantastic for HDR. That and 1000+ zones.

    • @mastixencounter
      @mastixencounter 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know why Cooler master would use only an 8-bit panel with these specs in this day in age. And ya I seen a release date for the M9 August 18th but I don't why Best buy say's a release date of July 25th

    • @thebadburrito1394
      @thebadburrito1394 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mastixencounter technically, all gaming monitors are 8-bit. They just use frc to get the 10-bit. Since the Cooler Master is hdr1000 cert, it has to be 8-bit+FRC.

    • @mastixencounter
      @mastixencounter 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thebadburrito1394 Yes, I already know how monitors use (8 bits + FRC) to get 10 bits. But the Cooler Master GP27-FUS is just 8 bit 16.7M colors, it doesn't use FRC. Whereas the M9 for example is actually 10 bit (8 bit + FRC) 1.07B colors.

    • @thebadburrito1394
      @thebadburrito1394 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mastixencounter I'm saying it's a spec mess up. You literally can't get VESA HDR1000 cert without 8-bit FRC. The Cooler Master monitor is HDR1000 certified, so it has to have that spec.
      Not to mention, no panel manufacturer makes just a 8-bit 4k, 144hz panel, let alone one with fald. The 32" of this same panel is already out in other countries and it is 8bit+frc.

    • @mastixencounter
      @mastixencounter 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thebadburrito1394 Literally every single source and cooler master themselves states that the GP27-FUS doesn't use FRC. It's the GP27-FQS that uses FRC. I think you're getting your models switched up. Either that or do your homework
