Hi Jim, First, I want to thank you for making these educational videos that helped me tremendously. I am the successor trustee of mom's living trust. I had NO IDEA that I would have many responsibilities as a trustee! My mom must have taken a loan out on one of her properties and did not put it back in the trust, so I am going through Heggstad and feel like it's never going to end with this mess of the trust and how it was written, but thanks to you I can learn before I mess things up that would be my responsibility as the Trustee. I watch every video (even all the older ones).

How old is too old for trust, 10, 20 years?

A trust becomes "too old" when your life circumstances change, whether that be a new birth, a death, or incapacity of anyone listed in your Estate Planning Documents. Other times, a trust can become outdated if your wishes change. At CunninghamLegal, we believe that you should have your trust reviewed every 3 to 5 years because that is often the timeframe in which major life changes and law changes occur.
