    Your video was incredibly valuable to me - I had no chance of doing this myself without a step by step video like this one. The exhaust on my Craftsman LT2000 had a lot of smoke in it and I had to pour in more oil every mow, so I used your video to change the head gasket (and all other seals that had to be undone) and it's running well now with no smoke... Thank you!

    Does it hurt to spot glue the head gasket on so it does not slide all over the place and make it impossible to line up the screw holes. Or will the glue raise the gasket up a hair so that it is not perfectly flush an cause an oil leak.

    • @jlistdiy
      @jlistdiy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The gasket should sit in place due to the 2 pins that help line up the head to the cylinder I wouldn't use any type of glue

    • @erwinerwin1245
      @erwinerwin1245 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jlistdiy Thanks for your reply. I have a 15.5 HP Tecumseh lawn tractor engine and it has no pins. I did not use glue after all and installed the gasket today. What I did was put a few screw into the cylinder head and then put the gasket on to the cylinder head through the screws and then mounted the cylinder head to the base as compared to mounting the gasket to the base first and then inserting the cylinder head.

      @@jlistdiy I just spent 6 hours today trying to adjust the rocker for the exhaust valve. Can not do it I was able to adjust the intake valve with no problem. When I have everything set up to be adjusted as the piston on TDC on the compression stroke, the exhaust valve rocker is tight as no slack at all.
      When I turn back the screw just a hair say, to try to get some slack, it then becomes so lose that even the push rod will fall out. Either tight as no clearance or so lose that it falls apart. I tried everything as switching the parts from the intake to the exhaust and it makes no difference. The engine is a 15.5 HP Tecumseh on a 15 year old lawn tractor. Maybe it is designed that way?
