Sorry Philip, although your placement of the handles was super. Also I got my wallpaper already. It came so quickly. So beautiful along with my print. Thank you for your wonderful videos and if you are faced with doing something new may I recommend watching TH-cam videos to see how others have done what you are about to do.

yes stain is not like paint, you have to saturate the wood with the stain liquid, more like pushing it into the grain and of course remove any excess, which would leave little puddle/running markings on the wood otherwise (more noticeable on lighter stains)😉🙃

I have to say I like the finish of the sink cabinet after sanding the black off. The way the black accents the grain looks nice on camera, and I'm imagining what it would look like with a varathane sealant over that. although not sure if that's how it looks in real time. I also love the color of that dining room... again not sure if the camera colors are the same as in person. All your color choices are stunning. Wallpaper stunning. I like the way the black tile and cabinet and tub anchors everything and plays off the other brightness. The color of that bedroom though is a Stunning choice... it's sll an eye feast. Of course Phillip's expert filming is so entertaining too. I hope the master carpenter is happy with it. 😅 The saying is happy wife happy life, but I think it's truer to say Happy Benoit happy chateau.

A different process is possible to turn oak in dark. This process is called vinegar woodworking or vinegar and steel wool patina. It’s an oxidation process that reacts with the tannins in the wood, especially in tannin-rich woods like oak, to create a natural darkening or aging effect.
Failing forward is a good concept but with the bath furniture I just don't feel it. It just goes from one state to a worse state. Das habt ihr echt verschlimmbessert. Doing that on a thin floor protection on the wonderful marble tile floor just waits for accidents to happen. I could never do this.

Try rubbing your final finish with a paper bag (once it's completely dry). Makes an amazingly soft and beautiful finish.

Start with 100/120 grit sand paper then work to 240 to make smoother 40 is way too rough !!! Also you can get round brushes for this
Make a drill guide when installing handles. Two pieces of wood with perfectly marked and drilled holes that you use as a template for your handles.
It looks very chic, but black black
You could also seal the stain with spray Shellac, then varnish it.
It would drive me nuts having the person who messed up the project, stand behind me and give orders.

Invest in good brushes 😊
Use extension for your drive so you don't go side ways. And damage the screws.

Your 3D printer could make amazing lamp shades with the translucent plastic.
A real maker would have 3D printed a jig to align the screw holes for the handles!
