Finally a good upgrade this year. The audio is actually pretty good. I returned the spec'd out 14" G9 due to driver issues with the AMD R7. Screen flickering and sound scrambling 2-4 times and hour. An yes, I did Teir 2 & 3 leave troubleshooting myself and it still kept happening. I just picked up an open box G8 14" for $400 and leave my M1 Max home. The G8 is good for Office work and everyday care.
Great review! I think this is the first review of zbook g10 generation on youtube.
The HP ZBook Firefly 14 G10 is a very premium device intended primarily for the business community of course. I'm loving the nice port selection, the glorious screen, the fact that you can upgrade the RAM and SSD. The webcam quality is clear and the built-in mic quality is good as well. The quality of the built-in speakers is amazingly good when compared to the Apple MacBook Pro even though Apple continues to be the champ in this category. All and all, I'm impressed with this laptop and really don't have anything negative to say about it. Excellent, very thorough review Andrew as only you can do it! Thank you!! 👍😁
Do you recommend this laptop for coding? I’m a computer science engineering student.
it is interesting to look at the AMD configuration. With the exception of heating and a little more autonomy, it is a really good working machine.
hi, i'm from India and i really liked your review. it was very comprehensive and helpful. if possible can you upload a short video of a "side view while opening/closing the screen". that would give me a good idea of movement of the screen hinge. thank you !
Nice PC for those who it is intended for. Camera looked good and mics are okay. Speakers sounded good. Display is good. Like the ability to upgrade memory and ssd. Easy access to the insides is nice. No lips or hidden screws beneath rubber straps etc. Great review.
Yes, I agree William, this is a a solid choice.
@@andrewmarcdavidare you going to look at the ZBook Studio G10 some time?
@@ThinusvanAs hopefully
@@andrewmarcdavidany ideas if you'll get your hands on a studio g10?
What wallpaper did you use?
why did the apple air 15 not have a pros&cons section? or did I just miss that?
This has many screen options, but resellers usually don't have the higher quality one. Also the resellers don't specify if there is smartcard reader and 4g5g modem installed and what language is the keyboard. Ryzen model with good screen is often out of stock, i wish HP would have only good quality screen options without privacy filter. My local down dealer had last G9 model for long time, but it had such a horrific screen.
Excellent notebook ever seen
Will this laptop works with docking station? I have my Think Book, which doesn't.
How does it compare to the HP 845 elitebook 14 in g10?
Hi. I hesitate bewteen to HP PC: - Spectre 2023 (i7 1355U, with oled, 32go ram, 2 to ssd) and the Zbook Firefly 14 G10 (Ryzen 7 PRO 7840HS, 32 Go RAM, Disque SSD NVMe™ PCIe® 512 Go, AMD Radeon™ 780M). I am looking for very goody screen, speakers, easy to transport, good battery life and to keep for years. Which one would you recommand me for the same price? Or another model? Thank you very much
Would this be a good option for lite game development? The 6gb external gpu is equivalent to rtx 3050 ?
Only video on yt for this device
It’s a beefier version of elite book

Is it good for 4k video editing?
Hi @AndrewMarcDavid, Please provide your recommendation between (HP Specter x360 2-in-1 laptop 14-ef2150nd and HP ZBook Firefly 14 G10) for a Ph.D. student who does programming and remote sensing analysis, also requires a portable laptop with a strong battery
Hi Grit,
I’m also in your shoes trying to get a good laptop for software testing
Which of them did you go for?
Thanks for your anticipated response.
Just got this issued from my employer to replace my old G6. At a glance I did not think this laptop had the privacy shutter over the web cam. (we don't get any paperwork or instructions, except turn it on, log in and wait for your data migration). I came hunting google and youtube to find an accessory that would fit and cover the webcam. Stumbled on your video, clicked the chapter about the webcam and bingo! Thank you SO much for pointing out that it has a cover. The lever to move it is so small, I didn't even see it. Problem solved, money saved. :D Thank you !
I'm also going to see what you say about the display/screen. Its a different aspect ratio that I'm not quite used to yet (16:10), curious why they changed it. Mine is also far from color accurate, it's awful. The webcam feed has a green cast to it and when I am looking at graphics the colors are way off. Highlighter yellow looks like goldenrod and I can't find anywhere to adjust the colors. I'm not sure if I have the same one as your sample, but I may need to do some more digging around. I also do not like that they moved the home and end keys, I use them so much it has been a difficult learning process to remember where they are now. I may see if I can reprogram page up and down to be home and end. (I don't use page up and down nearly as much). Thanks again for the video!
I bought the HP ZBook Firefly G10 14 A (Ryzen 9 PRO 7940HS ) , and while it is a very fast laptop, I am a bit disappointment by the build quality. The chassis feels a bit hollow and the plastic dark frame around the screen has a small gap from the panel that collects dust. It has clearly an inferior build than my HP EliteBook x360 1040 G8.
HP has a pretty good deal on this at the moment. You can pick this up for around $1,000.
i don't get why all major notebook manufacturer ruin their keyboards? Dell - moved home/end buttons to the top (used to be by cursor keys). Lenovo is the same. HP even better: power button between End and Delete? Really??!!!
Seems, the only option for the people, who uses function keys and other buttons - Apple. Or LG - their 14" gram keyboard is still, how it was before...
Finally, the arrow keys are the same size
Is it too much for personal use?
Do you know if all the SKU can be upgraded? I have a Firefly G8 with soldered RAM. 😢
Yup. AMD version will handle 256 GB if ever available. For now 2 x 48 GB DDR5 5600 is maximum. G8 soldered, G9, G10 replacable.
I just picked up the AMD R5 version on a black friday sale for $740. Yes thats USD. I cheated and got the 8gb/256 options, but since I can upgrade it myself Im doing just that. I just wanted a nice laptop, something to rival the macbook experience but Windows. Cant wait for it to get here. Great review.
Same. But I don't know if I can match the same battery performance of a macbook pro. What you think?
The HP Elitebook 845 G10 is also a good AMD laptop, with up to 64GB RAM.
Indeed, with 7040 chip it should be a beast of productivity and efficiency.
Is there a OLED model of the 845 G10?
@@franzpleurmann2585 not sure. I believe not.
I have this machine with 1370P 32GB Ram and lexar 1TB ssd heating so much. Does any one has the same issue facing?
Looks identical to the Elitebook 840 G10 except for the ATX 500 GPU.
Man, if only of HP gave this a 360 hinge, added a Micro SD card reader and dropped the weight to 1.1-1.2kg, could have been the perfect laptop!
For me also only the micro sd card will be good, but I can add it with 5 bucks.🥰
matte screen pff...
This is very expensive 😂. Anyone else think not for us consumers.
You are correct, this is really not meant for consumers.
Glad they ditched the Z logo which reminds me of the Russians with their Nazi symbols. Now I will be able to consider this laptop for purchase on a par with others.
uh, ukrainians have the hardcore nazi members. you need to read up before you make your comments
idk. laptop is trash for price
I agree. The 1600p screen is only offered with 7940HS and 64GB RAM. You only get 1200p screen with cheaper configs. So you buy the 64GB RAM version to replace it with 2 48GB sticks (this makes it pointless). You can have Lenovo P16V and 800 nit screen for less money.
Doesn't anything bother you about your Ruscism Z-logo on the lid of your laptop? The next one will be the Nazi swastika?
What? Are you crazy? Do you want to cancel Zorro too?
