- And just like that, 3rd year of medical school comes to a close. This has definitely been on of (if not the) most challenging year mentally, physically, and emotionally of my life. Rewarding, yes. Exhausting, even more so yes. Many important decisions and exams in the near future, but thank you so much for being a part of this journey with me. Hope you all enjoyed the vlogs from my clinical rotation year :).

Vamos Argentina :)
Who wouldn't be nice to you? Everyone loves you.
haha you still have to be kind first to get anything back. it's all about being intentional with the team around you
You have come so far this year , when you did your OBGY earlier this year , you were so different ( like a naive medstudent ) , but looking at your journey throughout this year and finally this last day , I can see that you have matured so much . Keep up the good work !
haven't even looked over my old vlogs yet but i definitely feel like things have changed over the year. plenty of growth
Andy…You're awfully tired and I hope your holiday season gives you some rest. This seems to have been a challenging rotation made more meaningful by your experience of that enthusiastic pediatric surgeon willing to teach you more. With Christmas ahead, just a friendly wish that this year ends with satisfaction and the new year ahead with great new adventures as you become the doctor you were meant to be. Thanks for continuing to share this journey with us. God bless.
thank you so much :) happy holidays to you as well
Congratulations for making it this far. You’re inspiring.
thank you :)
Did you say 5am to get to the OR on time :'-) I had to get up at 3:30am for my gen surg rotation. RIP.
the beauty of a community site hahahah
Damn, ND! It feels so amazing to have been a part of your journey so far. Been watching you since you began your 2nd year of medical school. I think it's safe to say that you've been a part of my journey to med school too. I remember watching you back then & thinking "oh man, will I ever get any close to where ND is?" and now, here I am, almost done with my first semester of medical school watching you close out on your 3rd year. Can't thank you enough! Keep inspiring!
I’m not a med student but I’m in a PhD program, and I just find these blogs super interesting and motivating. It’s cool to see what I could have chosen but also I really enjoy my sleep 😅. Props to you !
Congratulations, almost! You will have to break out the bubbly when you finish your 3rd year of medical school and in a year, you will almost be on your way to residency. You are a good role model for peers and younger people seeking success.
BTW . . . I fell today and hurt my big toe, left ankle and right knee. Not serious enough to go to hospital but man do I hurt all over. My left ankle gave out and I hit the t.v. and t.v. console which luckily broke my fall--I laid on the ground for about 5 minutes with birds circling my head. The body is so fascinating and we need to take very good care of it. I get to lounge on the Lazy Boy all day tomorrow to recover. Not so bad afterall.
Congrats Andy!! Awww it looks like little Puss in Boots (Tuna) is also giving you encouragement when they’re seeing you off and waiting for you to come back 🥺
You've grown sooooo much and you are SOOOOOO tired. Take care of you and your health.
Congrats on making it through 3rd year! Such a big accomplishment 😊
thank so much you :)
Finishing out 3rd year with surgery as well, so found the video super entertaining, thanks for sharing!
Thank you for these videos. They're very appreciated with your busy schedule.
thank you for watching :)
M1 from the mitten state here. Congrats on rounding out the year! I enjoy your content and look forward to seeing more. Viva Christo Rey!
I completely understand you.
I was once a surgical resident, but I later left. I know I just can’t be a happy surgeon.
It would frustrate me.
Good to see you have found joy in surgery though.
I know it’s a difficult specialty to love, I’m very surprised I enjoyed it as much as I did but I also understand the glitter isn’t always gold
1. Tuna is my dream cat!!
2. Thanks for another helpful video. The in-the-moment reflections while you're tired but also excited are so valuable. Your vlogs are such great content for prospective students, and I'm grateful.
3. Would love to hear in a future video about how your faith informs your work, if you're comfortable sharing that!
4. Congrats on third year! Rest well :)
Motivating other med students to be better every day ❤️💖
Congratulations for finishing your 3rd year bro🎊🤩
I have my 2nd year finals by next month and you can understand what would be my condition right now😅. Your video is such a reward after whole day studying and sustaining on my last drop of energy.
I'm also quite confused about choosing surgery as a career. I want to be surgeon but I'm afraid if the intense workload and responsibilities. Let's see what my 3rd year rotations would suggest me to do.
Thanks a lot bro for this video😊✨✨
thank you for watching and glad the vids can give you that extra push of energy :) keep up the great work
Hi! I have been watching your videos for awhile and they are very inspiring as I start preparing to take the Mcat. Keep up the good work!
good luck on the MCAT :)
@@NDMD Thanks Andy!
If you get a day off go check out Providence Canyon near by Americus.
haha ill remember if i end up back there for a 4th year rotation
Amazing job and thank you for all the videos!
thank you for watching :)
thankk you for this videos!! i think it would be so interesting to see a cardiovascular surgeon and an oncology surgeon! Cheers
hopefully will get to them in the near future!
@@NDMD keep it up bro this channel is making me really think about going to med school I'm 24 already
Community practice is the real world for the most part. Our worldview as students is shaped by major academic centers, but they represent such a small minority of hospitals across the world. Also congrats on fourth year, please eat lots of Cheetos and do as little work as possible!
I would like to see a day in the life of Tuna
Ayyyy almost done third year!
And Argentina won! Cheers from Brazil (a bit pissed, but that's life)
hahaha I have a few other sad Brazilian friends too but you guy will get your time. this one is for Messi
I hope you do a surgery residence-it is so badazz or Emergency Medicine trauma. I would have to be where the action is at the hospital.
Man is exhausted and yet his production quality is still 💯
Free housing and space to cook if you want. Spare cat 💙 Sounds decent!
definitely not a bad deal :)
Congrats!!!
thank you man!
he rock them surgical scrubs!!! 🤩🤩🤩
It’ll be you soon 💁♂️
2:12 I was wondering how are you gonna grab your camera after scrubbing
They make y’all travel to different sites for your cores?
Ahh the Mac and cheese... that's how they get us 😄
hard dish the mess up but when you do it right....man there are few things better in the world
So there is no rotations in the spring semester?
i take my USMLE boards for most of the spring and start 4th year rotations somewhere around April :)
Wow I’m from Americus Ga . Lol don’t us like that ❤😂
hahaha sorry, it was nice and peaceful while i was there!
I’m currently in Memphis TN . Trying to get into Med School now . I watch your video at least one time out the day . For motivation purposes. Appreciate what you do and the information that you provide us …
You get 4 months for dedicated ? Lol
It looks like you hate your job
