Dang! She sounds exactly like the recording. I hear her pain, because I lost loved ones, too. Particularly my father and all of my grandparents. Oh! I almost forgot my godfather who passed away last year. Like I did at my father’s memorial service, I sang at my godfather’s funeral as well. Losing my godfather is as painful as losing my father. 😪🙏🏼. I’m trying to learn this song because I want to sing a cover of this song on my channel for Fathers Day next month.

On Wednesday afternoon 4/12/2023, using my old hometown to cut through the traffic from the highway; all of a sudden I was hit with an instant flashback. I had a memory of when I was little, I was walking to grade school and at this point where my car was at, on Linden Street, waiting to turn onto Lowell Street- I was looking look up, and into the distance I would see my mom, a block away on the back steps of our home on Highland Street…as I looked at her through Mrs. Webster’s yard ( I was so afraid of her! She was older than my grandmother and I had never seen her ever smile! This was ~1970ish) waiting to waive to her before I walked the rest of the way to Highland elementary school.
Well, on that day, I thought it was a really good day…mom was waiving both hands for me to see. As I continued to my walk, oblivious to anything but how many more blocks I would I be walking until I arrived at school, I wondered what I would do after school for fun etc…. When I arrived, I was given a jolt when I heard a car beeping right behind me. My neighbors who walked with me let me know that it was my mom. I went to her and she handed me my lunch that I realized that instant what I had forgotten- whoops daisy!
I had forgotten about that very strong and very fond memory of mom. She passed away on January 2021 from COVID. As soon as I had that flashback, I just started to cry. I just missed mom so much…as did my sister and brother. She lived a full life, though if was not an easy one considering having a life changing surgery that saved her life when I was 4 years old, taking care of dad through his 2 strokes and staying by his side until he succumbed to emphysema in 1982. Or, when I had my severe head injury back in 1994 which did change my life forever. My mom was there…my sister was there, every step of the way.
Thank you to Loren Allred…when I heard her explain what went behind her thoughts when writing the song, my eyes again welled right up. Hey, what can I say… I am a sensitive soul! Anyway, now you know that I will be thinking of my mom, Linden/Lowell streets and Reading Ma on a beautiful sunny day anytime I hear the Loren Allred song- I Hear Your Voice. Thank you….❤️
And it only took me a few hours to get this note out. Not too bad! My short term memory- it kind of sucks. It’s not so much from the major stroke-pfo- paradoxical embolism, but from all of the focal seizures I had to endure before it was my PCP who diagnosed it correctly. I had a craniotomy in 2007 and a burr hole surgery in 2010. My pic was taken post stroke but the seizures had not been diagnosed yet. I was still licensed as a retail pharmacist. 😢

I believe Loren has been given a gift to bless others. I didn't know Loren wrote the song I Hear Your Voice. Wow! God has truly gifted this woman and it's wonderful to see how she is using her gifts and talents. The song reminds me of how God speaks to us wherever we are. He also speaks through His love letter, His holy word. "There is only one God." Loren Allred's voice and gift of song writing has been a blessing to me. Loren was smart not to follow the main stream music industry, which has become very dark.
