I couldn’t agree with you more, I’d rather the money in my bank account. I think I’m where you are in that part. I LOVE bags and want them often but I get super overwhelmed by the amount I have. I’ve cut my bag purchase down SO much! I love your channel and whatever direction you decide to go in.
Tiff you’re a very responsible momma and person, I know you are. And yeah having too many can be overwhelming. There’s a happy medium with the amount of bags that can serve us. You’re so sweet 💜
Affording life without stress now that is the true luxury! ❤ You are doing the right thing! Life costs money. Having a healthy emergency fund ready to go that is so much more satisfying than any bag
I consider everything I love as luxury too, Julie. I just took several bags to consignment to get my collection to 25 bags. It feels good to let go. I only want bags that I truly love. We've all made mistakes - live & learn, so don't beat yourself up. Your new direction sounds great! ❣️🌻
Absolutely! I feel the same way. I love the feeling of being debt free more than I like luxury bags. Plus I am an all in Coach girl so it works out for me. I am so conservative that I even sometimes feel guilty for having my Coach bags. You are doing a great job as a single mom and you are teaching your kids valuable lessons!
We all went nuts during COVID and probably bought so much more than in previous years. I know I did. I’m now trying to sell off anything I don’t absolutely love. I’m excited to see what I can clear out.
Yes, you’re totally right! I think there was an over spending during Covid because we were bored, and we felt like the world may have come to an end! I’m excited for you as well. You can keep the things that you absolutely want to keep and then enjoy the money that you will have after you sell 💐💜
Hi Julie!!! I totally agree with what your saying. When I was a single mom raising kids on my own for 10 years I never bought luxury bags for myself. You are so smart and I admire you for being so logical. WE handbag lovers need variety and I do too! I love your views, good for you for resisting these crazy handbag prices.
Yota you’re so sweet! I never knew that you were also a single momma too?! And for 10 years? You’re amazing. I envy your strength and your core values. I love that you have a beautiful mix of brands and bags. Stay kind as you always do 🥰
@@agentbagreviews YESSS!!! Single for 10 years!!! I did t even mingle much during those years! Just work work work!!! Thank you Julie!!!! I really admire you and I think very highly of you!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
I agree that less expensive bags can bring us just as much pleasure and having variety is nice too! What has really helped me come back down to earth from labels and more expensive things is seeing these videos where someone is repairing or deconstructing a bag and you see just what/how these really expensive bags are made. And they're JUST BAGS at the end of the day. We're paying alot for labels! So while I love a great quality bag, we can find that in some of the less expensive/more accessible brands too. Also, when something is really expensive, I almost don't want to use it and take a chance on ruining it! Anyway, great video and great points. You're doing the wise, smart thing! I'd much rather have the money in my 401(k) than on my shoulder! :)
Hi! Yes! Tanner Leatherstein has really shed new light on expensive bags vs lower cost yet high quality and durable bags! I like your point of view. Thank you!
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💯. I’m an empty nester. My kids now buy me bags. They always came first and I made sure they looked better than me. Our kids are the future. I watch any video you put up. Heck it can be on fitness or healthy eating and I would watch it. Great video Julie, TFS❤❤❤
Hi Julie! I get it completely. I feel like I have enough luxury bags in my collection, but there are some vintage styles that I want to add but only at a great price. I get just as much joy from my contemporary bags as luxury brands. I don’t care about projecting an image or buying things just to show on my channel and then get rid of them shortly afterwards. I buy what I like and what I will use, and I’m not planning to buy much this year. I’m 56 and I want to retire as early as I can. I don’t have any family to help me if I were to overspend. I’ve gone in and out of buying high end luxury for over 20 years, I really have to like something to get excited about it. I like a variety. As much as I love bags, there’s more to life than things.
Hi Dawn, thank you so much for stating your story! I completely understand. At our time of our lives it’s like who really cares? Only we care and that’s all that matters. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch. Hope you are doing well! 🎊❤️
Julie, your video resonated deeply with me. As someone who has also experienced shifts in priorities and spending habits, especially regarding luxury items, your perspective is both insightful and affirming. Your decision to find joy in more accessible brands and focus on the happiness they bring, rather than solely chasing high-end labels, echoes my own journey. It's empowering to hear you speak about making mindful choices that align with personal values and responsibilities, especially as a single parent. Your approach to building a handbag collection that brings joy without financial strain is a lesson in balance and self-awareness that I've also learned over time. Your content continues to inspire and validate the experiences of many, including myself. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and authenticity.
Hi Naom! By chance, are you a writer because you say the best comments! I so appreciate you, and I really value that you’re one of my beloved subscribers! Thank you so much for your kindness 💙
I love this video and so much of what you’ve shared on here resonates with me. Little by little, I too have started parting ways with my higher end bags because I too felt the guilt and just didn’t feel responsible. That plus knowing I could grow my money by investing in different areas (because I sold myself on the investment lie 😂) - the practicality of it just fully kicked in. I do admit that I have a few lux bags left, but they’re ones on the lower end of the spectrum that I still enjoy. I literally just started my own channel and fully intend on discussing topics like this so I’d love to join in on the conversation. While I love handbags, I also love simplicity and growing my bank account too. Thanks for sharing!!!
Peace of mind is the ultimate luxury! That's the main reason why I haven't bought a luxury bag since August and slowed down spending in general. I'm totally with you on wanting a variety of bags to play with, and sometimes contemporary pieces are more interesting. I'm excited to see where you take your channel! ❤
You make a great point Meghan about peace of mind and being able to sleep at night! No worries financially! Good for you for aiming for your goals too! I love that you watched. You have stunning bags! I enjoy your OOTDs! ❤️
Hi Julie. I resonate with everything you said: the way I grew up, guilt, wanting to give my daughter what she needs, etc. great video! Thanks for sharing!
I am loving this video. I find it fascinating to hear what brings you joy and the priorities you have set in your life. Bravo for being such a great mom and knowing what is most important in life! People are definitely more important than things every day of the week❤❤❤.
Love ya Aaryn, I really appreciate you. We go beyond bags in our relationship big time! I think you’re right that it’s our kids and people who matter more! 💙
Hi Julie ! Great video and yes I agree with you , I am also a single mom and all what you said completely resonated , I get it. I also have slowed down significantly on luxury bags , I have sold some actually and buying more Coach bags ; the quality is just as good or better than some luxury brands. I believe my last luxury bag purchase was 2 years ago and I plan on keeping it that way , especially with all the price increases these fashion houses have made - NO THANK YOU ! 😊😊😊 good for you !
Thank you for this video...I need to hear this. I need to stop buying bags I don't really need. I think I have more than enough handbags, and I haven't even use half of it. I just need to use and love what I already have...which is my goal this year. I hope I'll stick to it.
Great video. I'm overwhelmed with the number I have in my collection. Plus I'd rather just have my money to travel now at the moment. Since my daughter is getting older and my family is 8 hours away, I have to fly to get to my family. Which is where I'd rather spend my money now. I'm with you on the banking over bags.
Absolutely! Money to travel to dear family is 💯 money better spent than on material items! I'm with you. My fiance lives 2 days of driving away from me so I have to fly to him. I have to have the finances to do that like you! Take care.
Julie, Hands Up for you! 👍👍😘😘❤❤ what a great video, thanks so much for sharing! I love all your reasons , you nailed it. I love your channel and i can also say I love aleady how you want your channel to become! sounds great! I think that it is nice when channel evolues , because our own life evolves! And our channel are ourselves! and if we want to stay true to the people who watch us and listen to us, we need to show them how we really are and how we evolve too. So a big yes to your channel, because we can feel your change. You talk with your heart and this is just great. 😘😘❤❤
Aww you’re absolutely so sweet Madam 💜 I enjoy your channel as well! I have so much to share and really also want to collab with many others!! Maybe we can in the future too! 💜💙💜
This is a very refreshing video. I was just on vacation at a very nice resort, and everyone there had Tory Burch and LV. All I brought as my “nice handbag” was my new Coach Lolita with custom chains (it’s gorgeous). I almost felt intimidated, but when I took her out of my suitcase for the evening she was so beautiful that I felt purse peace the whole trip 💃🏻🖤
So with you on all of this Julie! Once you slow down shopping and really take a look at what you have (for me anyway), you realize that it's just not worth it anymore to spend all this money on handbags (or other stuff!). I am working to live BELOW my means right now, and that means getting excited about saving money instead of spending it. To be honest I have been tempted by some Coach bags a couple times this year, but still haven't purchased. I'm sticking to my goal, maybe I will treat myself to one new bag this year, after I have hit my savings goal of $10,000! That's right, ONE. 😎 And it will be WELL below $1000.
Hi Jane! I have missed you on TH-cam but have been following you on IG and your new journey! It’s been so refreshing watching it as a non consumer. So so refreshing. Instead of seeing beautiful material things, you’re showing us beautiful landscapes. To me that’s so much more stunning. I applaud you on your savings goal! 💐🙌
Thank you for your transparency. As life change we also change and evolve. I like that your able to stop your past habit and control the situation. That’s a great trait to have. Great video thanks for sharing ❤
I very much appreciate you, yeah it just came to a time where it’s all about them and not me. I’m happy to sacrifice so much, yet still treat myself on a few things. Thanks so much! 💜💜💜
I love your honesty Julie. I was told No to a lot of things too during my childhood. I’m amazed sometimes at how much I accumulated as an adult over the years. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. 🤗❤
Hi Sabrina, I think it can get out of hand for many of us collectors. However I’m not personally feeling too overwhelmed yet. And when I do, it will be sale time 😄❤️
Hi Julie! I really enjoyed this video and your transparency. It's refreshing to know that someone has noticed the shift in content for many contemporary creators. There is a lot of pressure as a content creator to continue reviewing bags, constant unboxings or WIMB videos. I applaud you doing what's best for you and your family. I'm sure you'll be able to explore new content and remain successful on the platform. TFS ❤
This video resonated with me for so many reasons I’m married and have 4 kids but that wasn’t always the case I was a single mom of 2 until I got married in 2014 where we had 2 kids together so now I’m a mom of 4 but when I got married and had extra income I spiraled out of control buying every handbag I ever wanted 😅 and while that was a great feeling this year I have pulled back because some of my contemporary bags like coach marc Jacobs even my mcm bags make me happier than carrying around a 2k bag and although my kids have everything they need I feel I can give them so much more plus I felt myself becoming overwhelmed with my collection and I got tried of the buy sale roller coaster I was on because there was a new bag out that I wanted I appreciate your honesty and I love your channel take care ❤❤❤
Congrats on your video Julie. Love the subject and pov. 👍 Making choices in order to suit your needs and lifestyle is wise. Thanks for having inspired and shared valuable point of view on brands and beautiful bags throughout the years. Hope it brought you joy somehow as it probably did for many of us. What resonates with me in your video is that life has many seasons, that interests and hobbies do change just like fashion sometimes. However what should remain priorities are family and relationships. You seem to put your children first and that is beautiful! TFS❤
This video was me 100%! I don’t know if you saw my latest video on the DB Flynn but towards the end I brought this very exact topic up. In the most recent years I’ve been super crazy w my handbag purchases because I’ve always dedicated my extra to my kids, their activities, family vacations and the everyday expenses you spoke about. My youngest just completed college and I was really spending because it was available for me to do. Fast forward to current day….everything in this video is spot on. I think it will be great to hear about the other topics. I find sometimes leaving it a mystery keeps your audience engaged. I’m sure you will see continued growth in viewers and as a content creator. I truly enjoy your channel. Great video. TFS🩷🫶🏽✨
I was going to watch your Flynn video this weekend! Oh honey it’s so neat to hear about your stage in life. I’m probs gonna change the name of my channel soon! Love your videos so much too. You’re amazing! 💕
Thank you for sharing. My boys are 25 & 21 and when they were growing up, karate, Jordon sneakers, Xbox, Wii, school trips, parties, and the list goes on. I only had a few Coach bags in my mid 30s then not my first LV until I was 40. Unfortunately I came into the luxury game late. While all of you are starting to see things clearly, lol I’m kind of just starting. I don’t see me going this direction much longer because when you really think about it, it’s crazy what we’re spending in general on handbags. I lost so much money on everything I’ve sold. I think since you already have a big following, you’ll do well. 😊
You really prioritize your boys and your family 💯 Cami there’s no doubt about it! I mean you do only live once but the beauty about it is that there’s no rules. Just doing what makes you happy and feel no stress about it. Thanks sweetie for watching. I love having you as a TH-cam friend. I feel like I know you so well! 💕
I admire you and agree with you. I love handbags and always have, but put two children through college with no student loans for them to have to pay off. That was a big priority for me and they are thankful. I never bought high end bags, but had good quality items. I enjoy your videos both collaborations and timely topics.
I totally get what you’re saying. I have a few luxury bags, but I don’t mind not having a large collection. I think I only get a new one every 2-3 years, but every time I buy one, I struggle with it being so expensive. I enjoy them, but usually it’s a birthday gift or Christmas gift.
I started buying luxury bags in my 40s. I have around twenty and that’s more than enough. Now I try to sell one if I decide to buy another one….I love luxury but I have to limit myself because nobody else does! It can be overwhelming to have too many options. I appreciate you having this real conversation…everyone has their own struggles and circumstances, but I also always think that I could be spending my extra money on less material things.
Julie- What you are talking about in this video I call common sense spending. It horrifies me when I see people buying things just to talk about them on YT or, in everyday life, going into debt just to have something really expensive to show off. The points you are making are realistic and I agree with you that saving for your son's college, a new computer etc. is way more important. I don't think you're trying to tell anybody how to use their money but what you're doing with your own. RE: Your channel, I believed I mentioned that I prefer "lifestyle", rather than one single topic over and over. You are headed in the right direction girl!! Enjoy the weekend!
Thank you so much Miss Gloria! I cannot express how thankful I am for your support of my channel. I’m thinking of renaming my channel slightly. Not sure yet! ❤️
Julie ❤you are truly beautiful from the inside out! I completely understand everything you are saying…this video really makes so much sense. You have a beautiful handbag collection and lots of variety. Always love watching you and hope you are doing well beautiful lady! 🥰😘❤️
I am with you on having a variety of colors and styles in the less expensive contemporary bags, than just having a few very expensive ones. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and I’m looking forward to your new content.
Hi Julie, I'm in agreement, luxury is how I feel about the bag no matter the label. Just like a rich life is totally subjective too. I finished the shop my bag collection exercise you inspired, with the result of downsizing via selling many bags which I'm in the middle of now, it feels great! I'm reaping the rewards of living within my means and keeping my love of bags in its place even though I too have lost $$ when spending was a coping mechanism. Thanks again for the discussion!
I’m so glad that you are in a really good place of positivity! And I’m so glad that the shop your closet exercise worked! Thank you so much for watching and have a wonderful weekend 💕
You have your priorities right! Enjoying a hobby or a collection within reason is so important. The things one can do and experience with their family for the price of a high end bag are always so much more worthwhile. Going for a trip, hike, camping, amusement Park, a birthday party... These are the things we remember, not the number of bags / shoes / perfumes / makeup...
Totally logical and very responsible thinking. I am also done with feeding the greed of high end brands from the LVMH and Kering conglomerates especially when you look at the absurd price increases these days. Their greed knows no bounds. Worst of the worst are Chanel and LV.
I totally get what you're saying. I've never purchased a luxury bag, like over $700. Mostly for all the reasons you laid out. I put a halt on even over $300 because I would still end up like meh on something I just paid $600 for, and can't return because it's custom. That's just too much money to not be head over heels in love.
Agree!! There’s so much more to life like financial independence and less stress because ultimately the things we own end up owning us. I love buying bags but they will be inexpensive from now on! TFW and commenting! 💜
I agree so much. I can´t just have fewer designer bags, I like bags and colors too much. And quality is not an issue now, there are great price ranged bags with excellent quality. Thank you for your thoughts on this topic.
I try not to think of the money I have wasted over the years 🤦♀️my parents had very little and I got NO a lot growing up so I get it completely. I think collaboration are such a great idea moving forward. I’m so over spending and falling in to the addictions and highs I get when I buy a bag or a perfume Thanks so much for sharing and try not to beat yourself up to much 🤷♀️ Hugs Frances ❤
Hi there, I definitely understand what you're saying. When my kids where young I knew NOTHING about luxury bags and certainly wouldn't have been buying any if I did know about luxury bags. I too had to make sure my kids had all the necessities and sports activities. Growing up I wasn't exposed to luxury bags either. I didn't get my first luxury bag until I was in my 50's. For me Coach was expensive to me Lol.....I do buy luxury bags, but mostly preloved. I do have a few I purchased brand new. I also have more contemporary bags like Coach, Tory Burch and some Henri Bendel bags. I love all my bags the same no matter what the price I paid. Now for me I don't fee guilty about wearing my bags because I feel I worked hard and my kids are all grown up. I do feel like now one really (in real world) cares about what bag you're carrying. I appreciate your honest and I'm a new subbie. I too have a channel if you're interested. Have a great weekend.
Hi LadyB! I just subbed back to you and thank you! I love your take and stand on your bag collection. I’m glad to meet you and thanks so much for taking the time to watch and comment 🥰
This video is awesome, and I’m here for the new direction as much as I’m here for your reviews! I buy bags in spurts, usually around the holidays, and then I do deep no buys for the rest of the year. I found your channel from your Coach reviews! Coach is awesome, and I get the same thrill from a new Coach bag as I do from “luxury” bags, because anything that’s not a necessity is a luxury!
Hi! I really enjoy your channel too! Doing deep low buy stretches sounds like a good challenge. Hope you’re doing well and I enjoy your channel and mix of bags you share too!
Julie I absolutely am loving your content as well as your handbag collection. ( especially Coach and Dooneys). I am with you on not spending a whole lot on 1 given handbag.. especially when many contemporary brands or smaller brands are really producing such great quality. I applaud the points you have made. Additionally having a variety is fun and makes perfect sense when there are so many facets to life: , camping, sporting events, weddings, work, traveling etc. I agree that your new direction does sound great and we will all be here to support you I am sure!!!
You’re so absolutely kind! If I spent all of my money on myself and expensive bags that leaves literally nothing for my family and they mean the world to me. Thank you so much sweetheart 💜💜💜
I'm enjoying these videos Julie! Boy, how many of us can relate in losing money on return fees?! Boo! 👎 Living within MY means, Dooney and Coach are affordable, and bring me lots of joy! 😃 I really enjoyed the challenge you set for us to try to use all of our bags in May was it? That was fun! Looking forward to seeing what road your channel goes down next!
Hi Jo! Thank you! Yes this is really a video to express where I’m at with my life at this time. Who knows in 20 years I may just want 10 LV bags again! 🤣🤣🤣💕💜
Great video Julie. I feel the same way. Even if I had the money I wouldn’t be able to make a luxury brand purchase. The value isn’t there for me. I’m looking forward to what’s to come on your channel. TFS xoxo. 🥰
Love this video! I haven’t been buying luxury brands either. I get it kids cost, bills gotta get paid, like you I like variety and I think Coach and Dooney make me just as happy as lux brands. Tfs Julie happy Friday 😀
I agree with everything you’ve said. Especially the guilt part. So I’ve only boughten luxury SLGs so it’s like I’m the only one who knows I have it if that makes sense. I bought a YSL wallet last year and am considering selling because it doesn’t bring me the same long term joy as my coach items, the quality of that piece just isn’t the same.
I'm certainly feeling the same as you, last yr i actually did a low buy, almost no buy yr purely out of circumstance. I just to think about bigger things. And i was brought up the same way x
Luxury is subjective to all! Personally really love your current collection and your topics as of late. To be honest, the higher end handbag content overwhelms me. I still tune to it from time to time out of curiosity, entertainment etc, . But thank you for sharing your experience with it in the past. It’s very relatable to me that you won’t spend more than x amount on a handbag, as I am the same. I have a family and financial goals that I want to accomplish with them more than anything. We can share a love for handbags, no matter what price they are, and treat them as our little luxuries. Can’t wait for more collaborations with other content creators!
Love your comment! Yes it’s still good to enjoy everything that brings us joy and still meet our financial goals. You also are putting your family first 💕
I love variety too. I change my bag and wallet at least once a week. I think that for each person, you would just assess for your situation and make the decision that makes sense financially and that makes you happy also. I like quality and think you can get wonderful quality with bags that are not super expensive. I am a bit OCD on keeping my bags pristinely clean and don’t generally buy used bags. This was a nice video, but I do love your reviews too.
Hi Gene, thanks for sharing. It all boils down to just being at peace with what we have and slowly adding items. I’ve been going crazy since Covid and starting this channel.
I love this video Julie, what a great topic and I love your honesty and I totally agree with you, I used to go nuts for Louis Vuitton but not any more because it's just so expensive now and I rather have beautiful contemporary bags like Coach, my Coach bags brings me joy ☺ I love your channel and love the collabs videos that you do, whatever content you put out I'll be watching and supporting my friend ❤❤😘
I completely agree. I have a pretty good functional collection of lux handbags so what I do now is rotate one out bag every couple of years. I sell just that one bag when I want something new and use the money to go towards a new one. I refuse to just buy a bag outright. I have to sell something to buy something new. Now that I have a bag for every function type, I’m not duplicating more. Since they are so expensive I should not need more than one bag for each function. Just my two cents! Thanks for this video I’m kind of over it now too at 42 I prefer to see the money stack in my account vs collect dust in my closet just to say I have it..
I love handbags but only want a small collection. Because that's my lifestyle. I have 16 bags. And only ONE is luxury. I have: *4 Coaches *6 Dooneys *1 Kors *4 Amazon Occasion bags And my baby. A Fendi Leather Baguette. My latest acquisition was a Dooney Florentine Letter Carrier Satchel. Basically an EAST-WEST Satchel.
Life gives us priorities. And family is way more important than handbags. your handbags are beautiful, Julie, but I’m sure your families even more beautiful❤
I have several high end designers on my wishlist but I love buying bags too much (and too often!) to buy 1k+ bags. I love both Coach retail and Coach outlet. And I love collecting different colors and variations for cheaper casual brands like LL Bean Boat & Totes, LeSportsac etc. Plus I lovvvve buying preloved vintage and things from small shop makers. And yes I have done the whole you know I could sell all my bags and get one or two high end bags but who are we kidding?!!! I love to collect!
We are the SAME! I like to buy a bag on average once a month but then I’ll sell some too so that’s a fun thing I enjoy. You have a great variety! Take care
Also, I think I would watch this channel way more if you keep going down the discussion topics route. I first subscribed after watching a review vid you did on a specific bag I was considering --but that is a one-off scenario and I am more apt to keep coming back to a channel if there is more variety in format.
I totally agree with all your points! It doesn’t make sense for me either to spend so much on bags. For over 1k price, I just don’t see what the bag is offering makes me feel worth it 😂
You have a fab collection Chee that you love, that’s all that really matters no matter price. I see you getting good deals on bags a bunch. Thank you and have a great weekend!
Great video, and amazing take on it! I agree; experiences and having a safety net is more important than expensive bags! I love my bags, but I'm starting to see them as a weight in some ways. Especially as a commission only earner; I would also be more hesitant to spend them on bags and bags.
I live in a fairly poor area and completely agree on the handbag guilt. I have one Gucci bag but never wear it because it doesn’t feel right. Contemporary brands feel attainable and still very special to me.
I recently went to a fancy mall in Barcelona and the most impressive looking bags to me were Coach and Kurt Geiger. The Dior ones were gorgeous too but I’m not sure not going to spend $5K on a bag. It’s just not worth it. But this mall has LV, Dior, Prada, BV, Tod’s, Ferragamo, Gucci, and Bvlgari. Overall, the contemporary bags looked better to me. 🤷♀️
Although having luxurious bags on deep sales is amazing, we have to be more practical. Covid definitely reshaped how purchases I make are more intentional. So my choices go more towards paying food, bills and gas.
No one is unworthy of materialistic things like a bag at the end of the day it's just a bag a piece of leather with someone's name attached to it. I see it like this... you are literally paying with your life for a 1k or 3k bag because you are literally exchanging your life to get a paycheck. once you start to look at materialistic things with that mind set you start to really see things and value luxury less or in a different way. I always ask myself when I buy a bag or anything that is worth a lot of money that question...is such item worth the amount of money I am about to exchange for life I gave up to make that amount of money? sometimes a new coach bag is because you want to reward your self but sometimes I don't buy anything when I go into coach or any store because it's not worth it. everyone is different but it helps me when I make a purchase. ALSO I used to feel like I was unworthy the first time I walked in into a high end department store but if anything WE are the customer and I am a living person I am worth more than a stupid luxury bag so no one can make you feel unworthy unless you allow them to make you feel that way..well thats why I always tell myself.
You make an excellent point that in the end, the things we own, end up owning us. I agree with all that you said! The time it took to earn those things.
I couldn't agree more. I get the same joy from a beautiful quality contemporary bag as I did from my luxury bags. Brace yourself. Im amazed at the judgmental videos from the "luxury bag TH-camrs" calling you preachy and questioning your motives.
Right, you’re totally right but I have tough skin and seriously could care less for the labeling. I’m too old for that crap 🤣 I really appreciate you Barb 💗
LV is not worth it anymore, it’s canvas with LITTLE leather. As someone who spent $600 on a Speedy in 2007 I’m not playing their game anymore. The quality isn’t there and price hikes are offensive.
You two look so much alike!
@@maryjomichele we joke around about that all the time!
You guys could be sisters! Love both of your content
I appreciate you being realistic. I feel these are important conversations to have and to hear. Thank you.
Affording life without stress now that is the true luxury! ❤ You are doing the right thing! Life costs money. Having a healthy emergency fund ready to go that is so much more satisfying than any bag
You’re absolutely right! There’s a healthy balance 100% ❤️
So true about the emergency fund!
I love it when luxury lovers speak up with honesty to their audience!! Thank you for sharing. ❤❤
You’re so nice, thank you!!
I consider everything I love as luxury too, Julie. I just took several bags to consignment to get my collection to 25 bags. It feels good to let go. I only want bags that I truly love. We've all made mistakes - live & learn, so don't beat yourself up. Your new direction sounds great! ❣️🌻
Linda, thank you! A simple cleaning of house, so to speak sounds very freeing! Appreciate you so much!
Thank you Mindy! You have a great mindset in your life 100%! 💕
I have so much Coach to sell - I want nuts during COVID too
I really admire you and I think very highly of you!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for sharing, Julie - not easy showing vulnerability and being really honest with your message. You have my 100% support!
I appreciate you too! Thank you
I agree that less expensive bags can bring us just as much pleasure and having variety is nice too!
You’re so freaking cool, your kids buy you bags! You raised them right Neicy!! 😂💕💜💕
Yes! I appreciate you being candid too! ❤ TFW!
I love your comment. Glad that you're on a path of happiness when it comes to your bags and purchases! Thanks for watching!
👏🏼 I love hearing about your priorities. All of your points are 💯 💯
💕
Thank you for this video...I need to hear this. I need to stop buying bags I don't really need. I think I have more than enough handbags, and I haven't even use half of it. I just need to use and love what I already have...which is my goal this year. I hope I'll stick to it.
I’m so happy that some of this video resonates with you and that you have a goal you are wanting to reach! Take care hun 💙
@@agentbagreviews Thank you too Julie 😘😘I will be more than happy to make a collab with you one day 👍👍💜💜💙💙
This is a very refreshing video.
That's beautiful! I'm so happy for you. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment
TFS ❤
Thank you so much! You're very kind. Have a great weekend!
I love your background and your story honey!! Thank you for sharing! Appreciate you so much for taking your time to comment ❤️❤️❤️
@@agentbagreviews thank you 😊
I really appreciated this video and sharing the opportunity cost of buying luxury. It can be addictive and I think moderation is important.
TFS❤
Thank you! I appreciate your comment and for watching!
I agree with everything you said. I am in my 40's now and my outlook on life now is socializing and enjoying my bags. Love your channel❤
Hi there! Thank you and so glad you’re here again. You’re right, honestly I think as we progress in life, we shift towards what’s truly important. 💜
That’s so wonderful that you have done that. I agree to pay for college or trade school or whatever that may be to help your kids. 100% first!
I totally get what you’re saying. I have a few luxury bags, but I don’t mind not having a large collection. I think I only get a new one every 2-3 years, but every time I buy one, I struggle with it being so expensive. I enjoy them, but usually it’s a birthday gift or Christmas gift.
Hi Shannon! Thank you for your comment. I love your collection size too because it’s what makes sense for you! And you’re using what you really love 💕
Thank you for sharing your own personal experiences too! ❤️
I’m with you all the way on what you’re saying I have come to the same conclusion. Thank you for this video!❤❤❤
Thank you so much Desiree and best to you!
Julie ❤you are truly beautiful from the inside out! I completely understand everything you are saying…this video really makes so much sense. You have a beautiful handbag collection and lots of variety. Always love watching you and hope you are doing well beautiful lady! 🥰😘❤️
Keisha hi!! It’s been too long girl! I hope you and your beautiful family are well! You’re so sweet and I always love your compliments. Thank you 🙏 💜
Terrific video, Julie! Good job.
Thank you sweet Diane!!
I am with you on having a variety of colors and styles in the less expensive contemporary bags, than just having a few very expensive ones. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and I’m looking forward to your new content.
Hi Monika! Thank you honey! Yes that’s the fun of creating your own collection, there’s no rules!
I appreciate you sharing this, as it’s where I’m at myself.
Thanks so much for viewing
I couldn’t agree more with you! I really appreciate your comment and for watching
Totally logical and very responsible thinking. I am also done with feeding the greed of high end brands from the LVMH and Kering conglomerates especially when you look at the absurd price increases these days. Their greed knows no bounds. Worst of the worst are Chanel and LV.
Agree! The cost to make their bags is like $100 per bag also at most yet they charge $10k for them
I totally get what you're saying.
Hello Julie, I love your honesty and transparency.💜
Good morning dear, thank you! 💜
Good morning Julie ☕️I’m so looking forward to hearing your thoughts
Good morning honey, have a great weekend!
I’m so over spending and falling in to the addictions and highs I get when I buy a bag or a perfume
Thanks so much for sharing and try not to beat yourself up to much 🤷♀️
Hugs Frances ❤
Thank you so much Frances! 💜
Hi Julie This is needed across the board. I appreciate your content. ❤ Many woman will agree with what you said. Thank you
Thanks for watching dear ❤️
Thanks so much for your kind comments!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings in such an honest way !! Really appreciated this video
Aww thanks so much Nick for watching and taking the time to comment. It was a video I wasn’t sure of making but glad I did. 💕
I agree with your thinking!! Owning bags should be fun and you should only pay what feels comfortable and yes a good deal is the best feeling!! 💙
Hi Jo!
TFS xoxo. 🥰
Your collection makes me drool when I see it! I’m not kidding! And they are all special to you. Isn’t it fun finding the deals too?! 🥰❤️🥰
Love this video! I haven’t been buying luxury brands either. I get it kids cost, bills gotta get paid, like you I like variety and I think Coach and Dooney make me just as happy as lux brands. Tfs Julie happy Friday 😀
Thank you so much Andrea! Have a wonderful weekend!
Hi Rebecca! If you will feel better inside mentally to part with it then absolutely you should. I’m so glad you’re finding a peaceful balance.
I'm certainly feeling the same as you, last yr i actually did a low buy, almost no buy yr purely out of circumstance. I just to think about bigger things.
And i was brought up the same way x
It’s so good to see you and I appreciate your comment 🥰
Thank you hun!
Good on you Julie. Love this content, I can totally relate and couldn't agree more, especially the GUILT feeling, that got me! 😅 tfs ❤
Hi Aisa! It truly is a feeling we must share together. And an image or status I don’t like portraying too. ❤️
Great video. Yes. I don’t have kids so it allows me to buy these things but I hope to get to a point soon where I just stop.
Hi Gene, thanks for sharing. It all boils down to just being at peace with what we have and slowly adding items. I’ve been going crazy since Covid and starting this channel.
Great video love your sincerest honest heartfelt views! Tfs
Hi Robin! Thank you! I will never be not myself on these video. I appreciate you always!
It’s just smart to get the most bag for your buck 😊 I totally understand
You’re so right!! 💜 TFW!
You make some very good points! Thanks for sharing 😊
Thanks so much Brandon! This was fun, I almost didn't make this video but very glad I did...
I’m so happy for you JoJo ❤️
I feel ya. I want to retire early so I’ve been saving & learning to invest my money instead of buying bags or anything else I don’t need.
That’s amazing! You are on a willful path that you’re setting the stage for! 💙
Great video so practical. Don’t feel guilty though for treating yourself. You work hard every now and then it’s ok❤
Thank you! I don’t feel guilty and I do treat myself, but it’s with lower cost items. I enjoy being more of a cheapskate sometimes!
That’s such a wonderful and smart way of going about bag shopping. Very thoughtful and thanks for sharing!
Good points Julie. I love all bags. ❤
Hi Ada! Hope you’re doing well. Thank you!
Love this video. Excellent points!
I love handbags but only want a small collection. Because that's my lifestyle. I have 16 bags. And only ONE is luxury.
I have:
*4 Coaches
*6 Dooneys
*1 Kors
*4 Amazon Occasion bags
And my baby. A Fendi Leather Baguette.
My latest acquisition was a Dooney Florentine Letter Carrier Satchel. Basically an EAST-WEST Satchel.
You have such a nicely varied collection and we both love Coach and Dooney! So glad you shared and watched! 💜
Life gives us priorities. And family is way more important than handbags. your handbags are beautiful, Julie, but I’m sure your families even more beautiful❤
Thanks Dani!
I 💯 get you. I’m feeling the same way. Love this video
Thank you my dear! 💕
Mary thank you! I appreciate your feedback and thank you for watching my channel! I love that you’re here. Take care ❤️
We have a similar outlook. I think I’ve hit purse peace in the last year
I totally agree with all your points!
Thank you for sharing Julie. I am also looking forward to your new videos and reviews. What are your thoughts on MZ Wallace? 🤗
Thank you dear!! I appreciate you! Ohhh I have never used one of those bags! But they look beautiful!
Great video, and amazing take on it! I agree; experiences and having a safety net is more important than expensive bags! I love my bags, but I'm starting to see them as a weight in some ways. Especially as a commission only earner; I would also be more hesitant to spend them on bags and bags.
Hi friend!! You must have come on here right after your closing 😂🎉 Thanks David, you get what I mean!
I live in a fairly poor area and completely agree on the handbag guilt. I have one Gucci bag but never wear it because it doesn’t feel right. Contemporary brands feel attainable and still very special to me.
@@demeraa thank you hun for sharing
Such a great video topic! Watching now! 😊
Thanks Candace!
Couldn’t agree more.
Thank you so much :-) 😊
you’re right!
Thanks for watching :)
great video ty for sharing ❤❤❤
Where do you sell your coach bags??
Hi! Through my own vlog sales, Coach FB groups or on eBay. Have a great weekend 💜
Awesome video ❤
❤️
Although having luxurious bags on deep sales is amazing, we have to be more practical. Covid definitely reshaped how purchases I make are more intentional. So my choices go more towards paying food, bills and gas.
Totally agree!
Such a good mother 🥺 even thinking about the car her son may need in a future
Time flies! He’s 13 and will be driving in 2 years
i've came to your realization some time ago as well.
Loved this video topic Julie. We still need to figure out our collaboration 😁
It’s definitely gonna happen sis 💜💕💜
you are awesome!
Aww I don’t know about that 😁❤️💕
You r wise😊
I appreciate you so much, take care!
