That’s bone fide genius, a one in a billion savant, a truly generational talent. Holy shit what did I just witness? That’s not a kid, that’s a monster. Imagine this guy when he is fifteen, let alone in his prime! Wonder what it is like for Carlsen to suddenly realise he is no longer the most talented guy in the room!!!
When I was 8, I tried tricking my brother into thinking I was farting all the time, but the truth is that I was just pressing a piece of Silly Putty into its container in such a way that it sounded like bad gas. Who is to judge what's more impressive between that or being a chess grandmaster?
Is he like 8 years and a handful of days or 8 years and a few days short of 9? The answer is very important to how I feel about my own chess game. Super commentary on this one. How long does it take you to put these videos together?
Couldn’t find his exact birthdate only the year he was born 2015 so he might be turning 9 relatively soon but not sure how it relates to you or your game but as someone pointed out his mom said he started playing when he was 5 years old something just clicked with this kid and Chess he’s able to perform the way he does on the board Incredible
Funny thing is - seems like ever chess tournament I hear about has something “going around”, where players aren’t feeling well, having GI problems, something… kudos to this kid for being smart enough to take precautions 👏👏
Wow what a game by Roman that name is going to be heard a lot in the future at the rate he’s going what heads up chess recognizing all the possible pitfalls behind certain moves nice game great executions Thanks for the game enjoy your day James
Forgot to check if this is over the board but even if it wasn't, video footage of this game would be fantastic. These kids, yes they watch SpongeBob all the time, but they also usually have incredible, nauseating motoric (dont know the right word, muscle memory?) speed! Gaming thumbs :). 30 moves in 5 seconds is a piece moved every 5 frames 🎉. Okay, not counting increments, but also not counting moves from White. It is truly Wow. Tetris. Rubik. Chess. Different planet. Just disturbing :). ❤ content!
Yet IF white played better in certain critical situations, he woulda coulda shoulda won! Kid is unbelievable yet it shows us EVEN Magmaximus loses IF opponent plays better in critical situations. Hey, isn't that the case in EVERY sport or competition???
chess isn't like an advanced study where you need prerequisites before continuing. Like, how can you take differential equations or fluid mechanics until you've learned algebra? But chess... all you really need to know is how can I attack more pieces in a row than the other person while not giving up more in some unforeseen sacrifice. You don't need to know match to be good at chess. Don't need to know language or anything. music. biology. Nothing really helps you be better besides learning how the pieces work. That could be done in a day. Getting good at lining up the pieces and memorizing some tactics... that could take years but for kids, things like this and music etc can come much easier than someone 13 or 20 or 60. So, it's not that amazing. Show me an 8 year old doing brain surgery then I'll quit life and just live in a cave on a remote island. I'm still waiting for a monkey to play drums on a studio session! Call me when that happens!
how the hell can a 8 years old kid beat many GM ?? according to science, a human brain must train for at least 5 years to become a GM . and the kid is only 8 ! his brain is not even ready for training like a GM yet ! WTF !!!!
Yup, gotta agree with you (except for the unsub decision). Studies have shown not only do these sh1tty masks not prevent viral transmission, but the restricted airflow they create actually weakens the immune system. If you want to be properly protected, you'd literally need an entire body suit with portable oxygen. Not to mention they don't let u see people smile, having a connection with others is important during tough times. Im glad u raised this point and I hope there are people mature enough to see it as a chance to question things; this is healthy. Accepting everything you are told without question is unhealthy.
Give kid a medal. Finally Carlsen smiling while not looking like he has indigestion problems.
😆
If that kid still needs a mask he may not be that smart after all.
@@CheckmateSurvivor All that for wearing a mask?
@@CheckmateSurvivor
What kind of utterly bizarre comment is that supposed to be?
@@johnnyschuetten Playing chess at advanced level, or having a PhD is not definite proof that someone is smart.
when you only hit 17 before the next generation come for you.....
Oh man, what a scary thought!
This kid is an absolute monster! Looking forward to watching him come up the ranks
He plays quite frequently on the CFN channel. His chess name on the site is Nakamura Jr.
His mom said in interview that the kid started with chess when he was 5. So he has only learned chess for 3 years!
Incredible he must’ve fell in love with the game for him it was a new toy and game and he has really mastered it
Holy moly! Please review more games from this kid, this is insane
That's just insane play, especially with that time pressure.
Also when so many of the obvious best moves are actually traps!
I am at my 37 sitting at home and watching spongebob
Haha fair enough 😁
Can't believe you can basically just 'react' with this cool commentary :D That was a mental game, I blundered several times watching it :D
Oh no sorry I did do some rehearsal but in my final rehearsal I found new things I hadn’t appreciated before and that was the raw bit I meant
the sponge bob sacrifice!
Haha
Wow. That’s nuts. Crazy how some things come so naturally to some of us

A very impressive performance from anyone, never mind from an eight year old. Thanks James.

😂😂very true , if only you’d had a stage to show the world like this guy has with his chess !
Stunning game. What an exciting talent.

Super commentary on this one.
How long does it take you to put these videos together?
I’m not sure his exact age sorry and I’d say On average about 2.5-3 hours per video

Yeah I realized that when editing , I mean re3 first pick up tempo on knight then rd3
Wow what a game by Roman that name is going to be heard a lot in the future at the rate he’s going what heads up chess recognizing all the possible pitfalls behind certain moves nice game great executions Thanks for the game enjoy your day James
Truly incredible, you can't help but root for the little guy!
WOW, that 8 year old knows his chess.
Needs magnus to coach him
Brilliant idea! If Magnus wants to leave an even more impressive legacy, he should coach/train his own successor!
This kid was born in 2015. Let that sink in.
What the... well done kid. Looking forward to more!
Impresive! Was this online or OTB event?
Otb
8:50 ahh yes its not like you could just take the rook
Yeah haha realised that when editing, mean to say rook e3 first , pick up tempo on knight, then rook d3
To beat pichot the Spanish player is insane
Love this endgameKid
Unreal!! What a talent!!
What an incredible talent - thanks for this wonderful commenting and analysis - love your channel! BTW, The Spongebob comment was hilarious. 🤣
haha glad you enjoyed and thanks a lot! Cheers for watching
Will he end up as The Shog ? Impressive game.
The Shoggenator
He can't beat xqc
That was real nice.
8 years old wow
Will Roman Shogdzhiev or Faustno Oro become the youngest ever GM?

Thanks as always and yeah fully agree! and yeah it was over the board but I couldn't find footage I'm afraid
Really unbelievable. Note to self: consider improve in yatzy instead.
2:52 it wasnt missed. Bro you are not a GM, u cant say missed. He probably saw something that u didn't 😅
😁 no doubt!
He's running the engine to assess the game!!! it was missed😂
About time, the next newest Magnus Carlson!! What's it been, months since the last one?
Yeah hahaha
Carlsen
Epic chess. ✅
Hum... an 8-year old winning against GMs? We know someone who would find it quite... suspicious... ;-)
Interesting 🤣🙏
Lol
Oh yeah??? Well, why don't you just kram it up your nik! :)
The future 👏👏

It's funny. You teach as if there were nothing but beginners watching.
I’m not sure I agree! Many of the conceits discussed here are far from beginner, I’d say more intermediate

Can't watch, had to turn off and unsubscribe. Bad enough watching grown men wearing masks but children makes me feel sick
Yikes never seen anyone unsubscribe for a picture I used! Only one I could find…!
The kid not wanting to get sick is making you feel sick? 🤡
