That measuring cable is a great idea and I've no idea how I've never seen that before!

Hard graft but a great job - making off large SWA’s is a skill all out on its own - nice job Tony

Blimey Ton you had a right old struggle with those ...
Remember the last time you struggle with cable into a main switch. .
Then you said should have fitted a spreader box ....
May be it would have been a bit better with a spreader box on top of those Glasgow switches 😯😯👍👍👍👍

Great video as always Tony, I don’t know why people don’t use Glasgow extension boxes to make you life easier, Eaton make an extension box that bolts to the top of that switch fuse if you remove the gland plate. Keep going with the video’s. It’s always refreshing to watch a Pro as there don’t seem to be so many in our trade nowadays

Great to see you back with some more utube stuff.Only ever done 3 of them switches nightmare ,no room .Even the extension boxes are tiny and cost a fortune.

You can get expansion boxes that bolt on top of the switch , I’m sure you already know this but why they never supplied them make termination far easier.

getting correct materials on site when they should be there but aren't is a problem that keeps getting worse. no one has a good reason why.

Them Glasgow switches looked a right bastard, cos that’s what they are. Are the parallel singles done that way for manageability? ie, to keep the sizes down? Great vid Tony, cheers.

Whoever designed that trunking arrangement didn’t think about termination. I wonder if he would have done the same if he was doing it. By the way Eaton do extension chambers to fit onto those isolators for them exact issue . Better man than me I would have swerved that and got them to sort it. Not even 6x6 trunking.

Making mistakes is fine, the skill is in getting around the mistake! 👍👍

Would almost be easier taking those unwired switch boxes off the wall again to thread the cable through, otherwise its silly what they make you go through just for boxes already attached to the wall.

It's not so much the mistakes we make , it's how we get out of them !

Hi Tony great video thanks, and very funny 😊. What's with all of the piss you end up working in? They are some uncouth people in this trade. Take care mate Gary.

Can you introduce your plier for cutting armour?

There’s a couple of bolts on the top of those switches mate at the front which let you take the front of the top section off.
We cut the Paxoline in half when we fit them also so the front half can slide out too.
Makes it loads easier as you can push the cores straight back then refit it all together once terminated.
Probably wouldn’t have helped too much on this as you’d still have the bottom edge of the trunking in the way, that’s why we put the Eaton spreader boxes on instead.
