- My NASCAR #16 Street Stock 1972 Chevy Nova I built to race Oval and Figure 8 at Saugus Speedway. Sponsered by Santa Clarita Auto Specialist where I worked as the shop manager. The first clip is when we finished the car to make the last 2 races of the 1990 season before paint and wheels etc
the next part shows the finished car for the start of the 91 season. Car built by Me and Bruce Runyon with help from Bondo Bob Runnfeldt and Ron Hornaday Jr. who fabricated and installed all of the safety related equipmentat his shop Victory Circle Racecars just before he signed with Earnhard. Filmed on VHS Video tape so please excuse the poor quality.
I still miss Saugus !!!
When I was a kid I used to go there with my dad to watch the races. When I was older my Brother-in-Law had a car he ran in the sportsman every once in a while and I would tag along. He managed to finish a couple races but that was all.
Classic!! thanks for sharing
My cousin Ron used to race at Saugus and so did my uncle Ron.. Did u ever race with them? When I was a kid I used to go and watch there with my dad.
@Jrebindixie Thank you. I am going to post a video of the time I rolled it in a figure 8 race. Just waiting for a friend to dig it out of storage.
@sharlenew97 What was their last names? I raced from 1990-1993 at Saugus and was on pitcrews and did destruction derbys from 1977 up.
