The Modern Motorist of today would demand a 4WD for those conditions. Amazing what a little 30 bhp/22kw Model C Ford with the well-known 1172cc engine on a 94" wheelbase could achieve in 1937.
Incredible, considering the Prefect wasn't available until 1939! This is a 10hp Model C, the first incarnation of a Ford 10 with the famous 1172cc engine. Unlike the Prefect this car was built on the 90" wheelbase, from 1937 the 10 had a 94" wheelbase.
10hp is not the engine-power, it's the tax horsepower in the good ol' days. This Ford Model C Ten had a 30 bhp / 22 kW engine and reached up to 70 mph (or a bit faster in free fall...)
@@nickjervis8123 I did that on a 100E Squire - but did NOT change the fuel pump! Anything over a half a mile at full throttle caused the engine to die, from lack of fuel! An electric pump cured that.....

Ford would soon be building Jeeps for the war.
IMAGINE WHAT THIS FORD COULD DO IN THE SUMMER
Ah, the good ol' days where you didn't even have to drive on the correct side of the road
climbs better than a range rover lmao
I wonder if the "Yorkshire Terror" is still in the same condition now...imagine running a Lancia Stratos up that hill ! How fun would that be !

I had a 1947 Prefect that would only do 65mph flat out. Then we put on an Aquaplane head and twin SU with Bellamy suspension. Top wack over 75mph.

Never heard of a Ford Dooloocks before.
I'm sold - where do I order one?
March 2021 my god this is nearly 90 years ago.
What this has to do with winter?
