    I am a subscriber and just finished watching you day in Vienna. At the end you said you were going to spend a month + in Italy. I spent seven weeks this summer (2023) in Italy before it got too hot. My itinerary was Rome, Orvieto, Siena, Florence (stayed in Impruneta), Pisa, Lucca, La Spezia, Cinque Terra, Turin, Milan, Como, Venice, Modena, Naples, Salerno, Amalfi coast, Pompeii, Paestum, Tropea, Matera, Alberobello, Rome, and Tivoli. I look forward to your upcoming videos. 👍

    moved 20 years ago to salzburg(city) and it's probably the best thing i could have done. i travel a lot (aproxx 1month every year all around the world experiencing other cultures) and yet i always love it to come back.
    i've never been a city-guy and yet i don't see salzburg as a "city" like many others. it's just a nice mix of city and nature. a 15minute ride with the bike and i can hike up the untersberg. all mountains and lakes are within a short distance and daytrips to the salzkammergut that offers even more incredible landscapes with its mountains and lakes gives this all an incredible finish. when i met my girlfriend, she immediately felt in love with salzburg too, so it was not even a question who moves. now she moves to salzburg and adds just more to my life here.
    there are so many nice places in this world and i love to visit as much as i can. but this is the place i will always return.
    nice you enjoyed it. this said, i think you need to spend more times in cities to inhale the spirit and culture. when i travel, i usually try to give every place at least 3-4 full days(not including the transfer-days), or depending on the country 4-6weeks per country. that sounds a lot, but i think it's most of the time not even close to enough time to get the feeling of the places, the people and the culture. this often opens possibilities to get in touch with locals (depending on region in this world this may be easier or harder) that adds a lot to the experience.

    Danke schön for filming Salzburg. It’s probably my favorite city in Europe. As you noticed, it’s gorgeous. Took students several times. We spent 3 days there each trip, and weren’t bored. I also sent some students to study at the University of Salzburg several summers. They were there much longer, loved every minute.
    Glad you rode the funicular down the hill. It’s fun and helpful for those with mobility issues, as are the horse drawn carriage tours. Wonderful, even in winter. Stay longer next trip. You only scratched the surface of what there is to see and do. -Elizabeth

    I understand why you guys needed some time off as you produce good quality videos, which are extremely well edited, may I say with an artistic flair in places,, with the right amount of music that marries up perfectly with the various scenes, which at times feels so dreamy and relaxing to watch. And all of that takes time... Salzburg looks so clean and picturesque. Cheers for another quality video showing me more of my home continent. :)

    Enjoyed your video and it Brought back memories of our very recent 4 night / 5 day trip to Salzburg in mid July this year - we did side trips to Hallstat for one day, travelled out on the buses to Hallstat and came back via train - there are a number of youtube videos that describe how to do this and its very easy and quite reasonable in terms of cost, going out on bus is worthwhile though you have to use three buses in total but you get to see a lot of the Salzkammergut region and pass via / through lovely villages and lakes Wolfgang See, Bad Ischel and St Gilgen to name but three - we also went to the Salt mine at Bad Durrenberg, again by bus and return to Salzburg - we did this trip on a day when some rain was forecast - the rest of the time we enjoyed Salzburg and all it has to offer - I would definitely go back to Austria and indeed the Salzkammergut region, I was really impressed how clean everything was and really enjoyed the interaction with every Austrian we met - they were very polite with regard to my attempts at speaking German, that said I always think if travelling anywhere that some basic phrases get you a long way even if you don't pronounce them exactly as they should be

    • @BrianandCarrie
      @BrianandCarrie  ปีที่แล้ว

      We sure do hope to make it back to this area so we can see so much more. We absolutely agree, learning a few phrases is always a great thing to do for each county you visit. Thanks so much for watching. Cheers!!

    We were in Salzburg in 1993. It did not cost that much then. We had a tour guide that taught us a lot about the castle. There was a tunnel from the fortress to the priest's mistress in town and he had a bunch of kids from her.
    We couldn't go inside the nunnery but could see it from the gates. Also an interesting fact is the Trapp family did not go over the mountains when they escaped. But we did get to see the mountain field where she sang. I wonder how much things have changed. I loved Salzburg....

    Hey guys! Salzberg! I am thrilled that you got decent weather. First time I was there it was the "sheet rain". The second time there was more rain. I did, in fact, go on The Sound of Music tour the first time, I can tell you that there are various places through the City for the locations. Some are the fronts of buildings, and others the back. Outside of the City is the church for the wedding. The gazebo was long since taken down at the backyard of the estate on the pond. But there are some cool spots to check out. I would likely recommend a trip to Halstatt more than taking the Sound of Music tour quite honestly, but it was still memorable many years later. I really enjoyed attending in 2018 a string quartet performance of Mozart at Mirabell Palace. Always great content. The Mozart marzipan chocolates are overrated for me. A walk to the fortress above was very scenic.

    @Paul-cg1bn ปีที่แล้ว

    True, Salzburg is a very beautiful and clean city. I'm a big movie buff and do remember the Sound Of Music. Perhaps unknowingly, the Mirabell Palace Gardens and old town of Salzburg where you walked are specific locations the Sound of Music was filmed. I didn't get the name of that castle you both climbed up to, but no doubt it was most likely filmed there as well. The Trapp family actually lived in Salzburg. I think it's cool visiting places where famous people in history have been such as Mozart or historical events took place. Not that you have literally walked in their shoes, but that connection makes it more real and wondrous.
    I digress. Like Brian, I too have a fear of heights. However, while visiting Canada I did take advantage of the Gondola ride Peak2Peak from Whistler. As much as I'm afraid of heights, I couldn't pass it up, though it was a white knuckle experience. Seeing you two live so close to Canada, am wondering if you may have gone on it. It went even faster than your ride in Salzburg, I think taking 11 minutes from one peak to the next.
    Great video! Thanks so much for sharing!

    • @BrianandCarrie
      @BrianandCarrie  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, those were some of the filming areas. I'm unsure about what scenes, if any, were filmed at the castle though. But like you said, just being in these historical places, truly a wonderful experience.

    I am originally from Salzburg, currently packing up and leaving Seattle after 32 years. I'm 55 now and I'm moving back to Salzburg 😊, I'm super homesick and this video was wonderful ❤️🇦🇹.
    One day is definitely not enough. Need at least a week. Next time drive 45 minutes southeast of the city into the Lake district of St Wolfgang, Red Bull headquarters is also on the Lake Fuschl,,, the gondola rides and the train rides to the top of the mountain such as Schafberg to the top of the mountains to the restaurants everywhere,, and the best part is the little town of Hallstadt. Hallstadt was featured on "Ripley's Believe it or not" back in the 1980s and they were showing the 1000s of skulls and bones in the cave next to the church. Above Hallstadt is also famous for the salt mines that go deep into the mountains and the long wooden slides.
