An outstanding athlete entered the long distance stage, to make history even there. All other big athletes in the world are working harder now, for their chance to fight for the crown in 2022. It will be the toughest and most spectacular season so far! Thanks for sharing Kristians way!
About 10 years ago I wrote to him in Facebook he had just 100 followers maybe.. (luckily not using FB anymore) but I wrote.. One day you will be a world champion.. Then he replied,... What I was not expecting was.. He would become the most complete triathlete in the history.. Beast!
Crazy to bike a 4:02 going though huge puddles. Long course triathlon competition has gotten so stiff. Now in the 70.3s everyone is running 1:10 or better it's crazy!
Norway and Finland have produced some of the best in the past . I look at the Olympic results and it is easily evident. They are back. Wow! Very impressive, the power and genetics to see today how fast triathlon has gotten.
Kritian is in a totally different level! His strengh and genetics are the witness of a new sport standarts. Amazing! Congrats from Maui, HI. Time to the off season and have fun enjoy life!
awesome job team. Wait until you see the pacer work with teams in the build up to get teams time trial strategy in place for the 25 minute improvement. Working with the best in the sport to refine this. The pacing work as the athletes are discovering is way harder than the solo TT power which is consistent and slower. It is interesting to follow the refinement and focus on this. It has shocked me how much harder the pacing work is. Swapping turns with limited pacers is a planning process and a difficult one at that. Stay tuned.
thank you for sharing and congrats!!! guess all triathlon lovers in the world cant wait to see the epic battles on the big stage coming up. CLASH OF TITANS!:) Keep on doing such great work !🤙
So proud of you Kristian. You are one of the, if not the best athlete in the world. How is that measured exactly? By some account account, you are the Best Athlete 0f The World!
For me the WC next year will be the highlight of the year. Kristian, Gustav, Jan, Lionell, Patrick, hopefully Borwnlee. Its will be the best tri race ever. Different strengths and a exiting dynamic all the way. Will Jan be able to open a lead and keep it on the bike to hold off on the run. How much time can Kristian and Gustav lose on the swim-bike and till catch Jan. Will Lionell blow thru the field together with Cam and be on Jans wheel when the run starts. Can Lionell improve the last 0.5% to put him in contention the last 10 km on the run with Gustav. I simply cant wait :-)
As a Journalist I had the pleasure to interview both Kristian and Gustav in Barcelona last year, and the other Norwegian guys. I'm impressed by their focus, drive and ambition but like anything when a coach acts all defensive about allegations of doping there seems to be a mechanism to obfuscate first before legitimate questions are asked, to put it bluntly better to go on the attack rather than defend the obvious questions levelled at any endurance athlete. To say there is no doping in the sport is the equivalent of saying politicians pay their taxes...ask a certain Swiss athlete about how she's gotten away with it for 15 years with two Olympic medals...it's our job to ask these legitimate questions Mr Coach?
I think you need to evaluate your questions. To ask questions about doping is just ignorant journalism. There has been no suspicion around doping in this team other than people who thinks, they are good so they must dope. Its not legitimate questions. Its stupid questions that will lead nowhere. No time in history has anyone admitted doping just because a journalist have asked a question. Unless you are capable of doing some good journalistisk work and finding some hidden secrets or connections to dark people you have noting. Its like a child from the school newspaper thinking he will crack the case wide open with simple questions anyone can imagine.
@@pal_lokomotivet2679 sorry Pal but believe me people like my colleagues David Walsh, Paul Kimmage (all Irish btw) were confronted by obscure and deflective arguments like what you have just thrown up and told to stop asking questions 2 decades ago, they didn't because they did their job and asked the difficult (and pointed out uncomfortable facts) questions. Obviously your grasp on journalism isn't very cogent as I wouldn't start patronizing and telling you the 1st thing about sports science, if you can't handle legitimate and searching questions then all I can suggest is take your team and go and hide in a cave for the next 10 years. It's a dereliction of duty that's sorely lacking in journalism today...if that was the case with triathlon Pal..8 of the medallists wouldn't have won the medals they won going back to Sydney, IN FACT it's because of not asking the real questions that makes, and unfortunately you're not to blame for that, performances like what your 'guys' have achieved are tainted with that same brush, don't take it out on me, look at the cheats who have won and got away with it, take your ire out on the governing body, let them answer those hard questions, I certainly have tried and was met with silence.
@@marcusmaher-triskellionfil5158 You just keep on believing that. I would not expect you to understand this because then you would not have such and ignorant approach to this matter. Pleas dont compare your questions about doping made on ridiculous grounds to the real digging journalists that find the real evidence. Of course journalists are the watch dogs that sports need. Just dont be a sore loser because your school newspaper approach to the matter is met by a cold shoulder. Of course they get fed up but amateur journalists that think they will get the pulitzer prize but asking less intelligent questions based on even less intelligent grounds. You are good, therefore you must dope. Its the most ridiculous base ever. On the Olympic distance the Norwegians are far for outstanding. They get beat more than they win. And the ironman series har been dominated by retired short distance athletes over their prime. Just a few world class athletes. Its not a shock that great athletes that start doing ironman in their prime with a 100% professional team does well in this semi pro series. I would really like to hear your grounds for this questions.
@@pal_lokomotivet2679 I don't think you understood my comments correctly and so there is no point in engaging with someone so wilfully ignorant of the job Journalists do by claiming what I've said (in your mind) as being non journalistic. Asking doping questions to the people you think dope will never lead to anything. 2. The only thing it does is to cast dark shadows over people who most likely is working this ass off for years. 3. You should look at and analyze the 100% professional nasjonal team in Norway compared to the mostly semi professional individuals you find on the long distance circuit. The first question before doping should be investigated is. Is this results unnatural compared to the work being done. 4. Your method will never lead to anything. Dont compare yourself to the real diffing journalist that get actual results. You are just annoying and disrespectful to people who devote their life to this. When you find a connection to a shady doctor or coach. Find needles in the trash at the Norwegian hotel. If they dont report their location to anti doping. Ect ect.
