Justin, I appreciate you sharing all of the things that you do with your car. You are giving me plenty of things to consider for my car. I am hoping to take delivery sometime early this year. I have been waiting almost 3 years.
Dressing up the engine compartment is ok so long as you don’t use parts that causes greater heat temperatures. Keep in mind that most all sensors are designed using plastics and heat cycles eventually cause them to fail. After driving my C8 and parking it inside my garage I will open and leave the hatch open allowing the heat to escape from the engine bay.
@@HorsePowerObsessed yes, after hard driving the fans will remain on helping to pull heat away from the engine. Glad the chevy engineers programmed that into these cars.
You had me at "flare." I just traded in my 2020 Coupe for a 2025 Stingray HTC. my primary reason for going to the HTC is the never-ending job of improving the coupe's engine bay. The primary eyesore is the plastic surrounding the bay.
just my opinion, the red would’ve been too much. You have just the right amount now and the machine letters on the new bars is awesome touch. nooice! 👌🤘
They look good. How did the carbon fiber fit over the new part parts? Looks like it fit good, but video can be deceiving sometimes. But I know you are as picky about your mods as I am.
Looks great! I might of missed it but you know my question, which set weighs more ? (Albeit structural rigidity likely comes at weight cost so I’m guessing the new ones)
Awesome stuff Justin. You've definitely been helping me create my wishlist of customization mods with all your vids after i take possession this spring. Will be super fun to do cf trim in engine bay with z06 close out decals and red mist painted close in pieces to my edge red intake with red mist c8rallydriver trunk struts. Then getting these bars with Wheeler's Chevrrari engraved on them in red would be a nice finishing treat! Will match the then of my personalized waterfall plaque and my vanity plate! CHVRAR1 Cheers! 🍺
The old parts were ceramic coated as well and they weren’t on my 2020 stingray so it doesn’t seem to matter. I think it is just whatever GM is using to paint them is breaking down. I noticed on some older stingrays the entire bar is starting to turn a gray color so basically the staining that I’m saying is literally completely covering that bar.
Justin do you know of a good C8 specialist in the Ft Lauderdale area? I want to have the oil changed in my Z06. I don’t want to go to the dealer, I’m having it changed early at 1270 miles. Thanks!
Those look great 🤘. Literally just changed mine out on the Z today. However I went with the Paragon struts. I agree the factory units are absolute junk!
I would expect the exhaust shield to be discolored. That’s normal. If you’re saying the exhaust heat is causing the bars to discolor, why is none of the other metal discoloring? I’m not saying that’s not the cause, but it’s odd that only those would be affected.
Tried wax, and ceramic coating. It comes back. The more I think about it, I don't think it's staining. I think the bars are actually discoloration from heat/moisture. My bars in my 2020 Stingray were almost completely gray (with a chalky feel) after about 12k miles.
What happened to the RED ENGINE COVER? What is that, you covered them up with..? Between removal, and Re-Install you did something you didn't tell us about... Why Order the Red Cover, then replace it, or cover it up..?
I’m sorry man but I honestly don’t like the intake covers. I like how the red used to pop before. Just my thoughts man. I still really dig your car though. It’s a beautiful beast.
They may not be for everybody but I absolutely love the way they look. They allow just enough red to pop through while also making it look very exotic.

I like the subtle nod to HPO
Thanks, Steve!!
I love the look of the new bars. It would have been fun to see the wight compared with the OEM on a scale.
The mods are looking fantastic Justin the engine bay looks like a 24 carat diamond, Happy New Years!!!
Happy new year my friend!

Happy to help! I’m excited for you to get your car! Stingray, Z06 or Eray?
Bars look great!!! Engine bay looks complete, great video keep them coming!
I appreciate it!!
Nice job. Like all the options available with these bars.
Thanks man, I'm digging them too!
Love that engine bay - nice work
Thank you!
They look so good!! Dress it up!!
Thanks, wifey!

I also do it all the time. Old school racer trick.
Absolutely! I keep my hatch open when doing any hard driving as well.
@@HorsePowerObsessed yes, after hard driving the fans will remain on helping to pull heat away from the engine. Glad the chevy engineers programmed that into these cars.
Yup. My fans in my Z06 stay on for 10 to 15 minutes after spirited driving.
Engine bay looks nice 👌
Thanks, man! 💪
Another great looking mod, Justin!👍👏👌
I appreciate it!
Thanks HPO,..Do those intake covers raise the engine temp??
I haven't noticed any difference in engine temp.
You had me at "flare." I just traded in my 2020 Coupe for a 2025 Stingray HTC. my primary reason for going to the HTC is the never-ending job of improving the coupe's engine bay. The primary eyesore is the plastic surrounding the bay.
I hear you, the engine bay on the coupe is a little rough around the edges. I fixed a lot of it with carbon fiber and absolutely love it now!
Now I understand why the heck the LT6 manifolds have that weird ugly crease in them near the back (or i guess front)..
Looks like water/grime coming through the engine cover vents & onto the chassis bracing. They seem to line up pretty closely.
Justin 🎉 looking amazing !! Luv the mods
Thank you!!!
Are some of the bolts holding the bars secured THROUGH the CF dress panels?
Yes.
@ is that GM’s design? I’m not a engineer but I wonder how the load would transfer through the CF. These braces are for structural purposes I presume?
just my opinion, the red would’ve been too much. You have just the right amount now and the machine letters on the new bars is awesome touch.
nooice! 👌🤘
I appreciate it! I'm still on the fence about the red... I think it COULD look good.
@ black letters red bar? hmm. might look good
That was my original attempt but apparently that's kind of hard to do.
They look good. How did the carbon fiber fit over the new part parts? Looks like it fit good, but video can be deceiving sometimes. But I know you are as picky about your mods as I am.
Fitment is perfect. I'm extremely OCD with stuff like this and I was quite pleased with the fitment.
Could the staining be from heat rising from the engine and discoloring the paint on the rails??
Sucks that center cross bar won't work with my PTR Manifold
Looks Nice whats the weight difference?
The new bars are slightly heavier but also substantially more rigid.
Looks great! I might of missed it but you know my question, which set weighs more ? (Albeit structural rigidity likely comes at weight cost so I’m guessing the new ones)
The new ones weigh more, but not anything serious. Structural rigidity usually comes at the cost of weight (unless its carbon fiber)

Awesome man!! You’re gonna love it! This car has been an absolute blast to customize!
Looks good 👍
Thanks 👍
Nice as always..just when I thought you couldn’t add anything else..Hey quick question do you use you flat stoppers when you store the C8 ZO6
Not knowing why you are getting staining, you might want to ceramic coat those new parts as they may get that staining as well.
The old parts were ceramic coated as well and they weren’t on my 2020 stingray so it doesn’t seem to matter. I think it is just whatever GM is using to paint them is breaking down. I don’t, unfortunately. The dealership might be your best bet. Call around and find out which dealership near you has a dedicated Corvette tech.
Its called hard water salt crystals after the heat transfer added
Not sure I agree. If that’s the case brand new cars wouldn’t have it.
Those look great 🤘. Literally just changed mine out on the Z today. However I went with the Paragon struts. I agree the factory units are absolute junk!
💯
Exhaust system (manifold heat)
It's possible, but why nothing else in the engine bay getting "stains" like this?
Nice !
Thanks!
Well it looks to me like the exhaust manifold is right below ur strut. That has a heat shield over it, and it's even discolored as well.
I would expect the exhaust shield to be discolored. That’s normal. If you’re saying the exhaust heat is causing the bars to discolor, why is none of the other metal discoloring? I’m not saying that’s not the cause, but it’s odd that only those would be affected.
Maybe it's because heat rises
So why wouldn't said heat "stain" any other parts in the engine bay that are metal?
Ok then it may b the water staining them from the opening on the hatch????!!!!! Don't know 😕
It's a carbon fiber cover and it doesn't cover it 100%. Leaves some red to show through which I think looks amazing.
All you have to do is wax the OEM bars and the blotching disappears.
Tried wax, and ceramic coating. It comes back. The more I think about it, I don't think it's staining. I think the bars are actually discoloration from heat/moisture. My bars in my 2020 Stingray were almost completely gray (with a chalky feel) after about 12k miles.
I think it's heat that causes the blotching. McGuire's Ultimate Paste Wax took care of mine.@@HorsePowerObsessed
Looks nice, do you cover the engine whenever you wash your car to keep water and soap from dripping thru the vents?
What happened to the RED ENGINE COVER? What is that, you covered them up with..? Between removal, and Re-Install you did something you didn't tell us about... Why Order the Red Cover, then replace it, or cover it up..?
They are carbon fiber pieces that almost cover it up. You can still see a lot of the red shining through and I think it looks fantastic!
I’m sorry man but I honestly don’t like the intake covers. I like how the red used to pop before. Just my thoughts man. I still really dig your car though. It’s a beautiful beast.
