Jesse seems like a very cool dude. Wish him all the luck in his racing pursuits. I have a 2024 Z06 and fell in love with it immediately. Can’t wait for spring time. Best corvette ever!
Haters are not limited to politics. Corvettes are well sought after worldwide, and have been for decades. So-called’experts’ on the internet almost universally fall for the hype. Underrated, no, hated by brainwashees, yes. If Corvette keeps a look or a feature, they call it ‘stale,’ even when superior. Porsches and Ferraris have looked the same for half a century, and they are ‘modern supercars.’ And on and on.
Lots of problems with Corvettes. Brother has owned a number of examples always bought new and very well cared for. Things like early demise of water pumps, alternators and the failed dashboard vent doors - which is a big problem $$$. Overall, they are affordable near super car machines.
I really like your reviews, Marcus! I started watching you when you did the Shelby GT350R review, which I owned at the time and now I love this review of the Z06, which I now own. In both videos, you really summed up the emotions that I feel driving both vehicles and made me proud of my choices. Thanks, man👍🙏
Love ya. But your complaint about the steering wheel is invalid. You drove at 9 and 3 the entire time. A square wheel gives you visibility with a low seating position
Your comment on the square steering wheel, I quess you may rethink your call about that because if you look at the new Ferrari F80 steering wheel they most have thought it was a good idea.
I CAN’T WAIT until your video review of the maroon mini van back there. Doors open and ready to go. Hopefully it’s right after the R34. Lol. Naw cool Corvette. Been wanting one.
I want this car so bad right now to be my 3rd corvette through out the years but I will be going with another M3 because of its transmission. The funny thing is my c6 and c7 corvettes very auto back then now im older I want manual.
EVERYONE please stop talking about SQUARE steering wheels when Ferrari just STOLE the idea with their new quadzillion dollar F80. We havent seen the interior of their GTLM street car yet, but i put money on the idea its got a square steering wheel. Ferrari slapped together a version of the C8 series interior in their ROMA, and not one person is accusing them of it being a bad design. In fact it won design awards all across Europe, and its clearly a take on the C8 interior.
They didn’t even steal it. Ferrari has has a squared off wheel since 2013 when laferrari came out. Ans theyre probably not even the first to have a squared off wheel in a road car either
Nice.. I Traded In my 2024 E-Ray for a 2025 ZO6.. The E-Ray Electric Motor started with Issues only after 1000 miles..Never will I waste money on anything with Electric Motor or lithium batteries Again.. ZO6,Got too Experience the Rush..One,like None👍
I own a 2024 CT5 Blackwing with a 6 speed. With 550 Ft-lbs of torque at 2000 rpm the Blackwing trounces the C8 Z06 in usable horsepower and torque. Z06 is faster due to minimal weight and the benefits of the rear mounted mid engine. Regarding the standard transmission and the comment; paraphrased here “there is no reason GM didn’t put in a manual transmission”, you’re kidding right? You answered your own comment when you mentioned the interior design. The complexity of the transmission packaging, weight distribution, linkages, manufacturing, assembly, cost and warranty might have been a concern for the experts. For the ~33% who would choose the standard, GM decided the costs were not worth the benefits. The Z06 is a great machine and I’ll have one in my garage in a year or two. Coming from a guy who wrote off all GM products in 1984 when my POS Chevy Cavalier was such a disaster that I got rid of it 14 months after buying. That car sucked and I hated Chevy for not repairing - every time I went over railroad tracks the windshield wipers would come on and they would not turn off. Scratched the heck out of my windshield, Chevy couldn’t fix the wiper problem and refused to replace the windshield.
American cars are known around the world for their mightly v8 torque..... remember the Honda S2000 I recall all the magazines hailed it a GREAT CAR, tons of hype......but reality you needed to rev it to the moon to make it run and now it's gone. the GT350 with Ford "best engine ever" EVEN MORE HYPE, Ford dealers charged HUGE extra profit ADMs. Ford went thru 3 revisions of the "best engine ever" so they did not explode......now the GT350 and Ford FPC is gone....(and Ford kept producing the not best engine???) A great car does not become great from hype videos, it becomes great from longevity, reasonable maintenance
Good comment. My brother and I both bought new Honda S2000’s in 2007 and 2008. I kept mine for 6700 miles and my brother sold his with 930 miles. Absolutely the most unusable, slowest, most uncomfortable overrated car ever made.
The car will sound just like a f1 car. Once we get aftermarket 8-1 stepped sequential headers with a megaphone fitted in there. And maybe titanium, steel could work. But the c8 has the engine formula for a f1 sound
I agree having owned a c6z06. It’s a great car. But. The c7z06 is more capable. And I had a full suspension and race tires on it. I miss it. But in my opinion the C7z is better.
People have to buy manuals for companies to spend the money to engineer them , crash test them and all other requirements, Companies who have manual sales they have them
When you first bought the car, you said you couldn’t stand the tall wing because it looks stupid and that’s why you didn’t get the Z07 package….now you’re going to get a tall aftermarket wing. OK…
If your hands are where they should be while driving the top and bottom of the steering wheel shouldn’t even be a concern. I don’t get all the negativity surrounding the square setup.
As per usual, All the sound engineering and Great R@D stiffled by corporate lawyers and impossible tall 5th 6th gear castrating upper acceleration vs counterparts. (The bit nobody wants to bring up.)
Honestly, it’s not a big deal with this car, over my two years of ownership, I’ve never had thoughts about anything you just mentioned, except for the one time I went and tried to do a top speed test, but that was only one day in my entire existence of loading the car
I can see why GM built this with the DCT only but now seeing how fast the Z cars and E-rays are...why couldn't they release a manual base c8??? There's nothing in the base car that is preventing a touring version, they could even upcharge lol
I disagree. I have had both a c7Z M7 and now the C8Z. I got 2.8 0-60 in my C8Z. Could never hook up from a dig in the C7Z. They both are great cars as each has it's own personality.
This only happened when Corvette started to copy Ferraris and other supercars. They were not capable of building their own supercar so they had to basically reverse engineer a Ferrari to figure out how a real supercar works, and then build their car around that framework and design. Not so impressive sorry
What are you talking about, specifically? - The rear-mid configuration? That's been in the mind of Zora Arkus-Duntov himself since the 60's, and several concepts were developed way into the 1980's. The reason it never reached production was because GM's higher-ups never deemed necessary and feared changing a winning formula. The C7 was the epitome of what they could achieve with a front-engine layout. - The V8 with a flatplane crank? Any company that builds engine most likely know how to build one, but they don't always do it because this tends to be more focused for sportcars. TVR did it with the AJP8, Lotus did with the Type 918...GM had the know-how to do it. Just because they benchmarked a Ferrari doesn't mean they "copied". Nissan didn't "copy" Porsche in 2007 when they released the new GT-R, but they did benchmark the 911 Turbo.
It's funny I was never an N/A kind of guy until all of the N/A cars began disappearing... I love this thing. Thanks for stopping by!
Driving C8, GT3, URUS just hate the feeling a Turbo cars.
@@ZAGAN-OZ The urus is turboed
It also helps that the N/A car is a V8.
Thank you for making this video and thank you so much for using my car! This video is epic!! 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for the sounds 😎
Love seeing you pop up here! Looking forward to more drag racing and comparisons with the Z06
I am hoping they keep this exact engine for the C9 generation as well. Such an iconic engine!
Me too!
Jesse's car look SOOOOO good with those wheels and that lowered stance!
Thank you!!
Jesse seems like a very cool dude. Wish him all the luck in his racing pursuits. I have a 2024 Z06 and fell in love with it immediately. Can’t wait for spring time. Best corvette ever!
the Vette since the C5 been underrated and the C8 definitely shows how great it is

Navy vet and nascaar driver well thank u for your service and im jealous of your life at this moment 😂

It’s going to be epic when you do, be sure to make some videos!
@jesse_iwuji I will be making videos all over houston 🫡🫡... also, thank you for all the videos and showing everyone how awesome this car is. 🔥🔥🔥
Z06 = GT3
ZR1 = GT2
I think first is more fun. Second is a weapon which only few will be able to truly handle.
The zr1 has no equal.
🎉🎉🎉 this was epic! Can’t wait to see the R34 GTR video!
Hahahaha all those modification and NO front radiator guard screen. It's the FIRST modification I put on my Z06.
The guard screens should be standard from the factory on all corvettes…on all cars for that matter.
The guy is right once they put the engine on the back the car is super balanced and glued to the road

Didn’t the LaFerrari have a “square” steering wheel? That design isn’t something you can “steal”, it’s been around.

The C8 Z06 is a fantastic supercar. The ZR1 is ultra expensive and really not needed.
Lambo doors on a c8 💀
I wish we could get these in the UK 😭
will last? DCT transmission will last for 5 or 10 years?

C8Z how much TQ?
@02:56 min. Square Wheel is beautifully ovally squared it's a pundant pun on not being square in character. It's artistically designed just fine.
I love the steering wheel. Drive it a few times and you likely will too.
Steering wheel is great until you come to an intersection.
@@RoadsUntraveled I drive through plenty of intersections and never have an issue. Why do you have issues?

The thing i like the least about the car is the steering feel, everything feels too electronic imo
And when will they offer a manual?
GM is adamant this will not happen! Engineering cost, no suitable supplier, and the take rate is too low.
If your hands are where they should be while driving the top and bottom of the steering wheel shouldn’t even be a concern. I don’t get all the negativity surrounding the square setup.

I’m a retiree with a manual C6. The C8 is great but DCT only is a minus.
I can see why GM built this with the DCT only but now seeing how fast the Z cars and E-rays are...why couldn't they release a manual base c8??? There's nothing in the base car that is preventing a touring version, they could even upcharge lol
670hp, but still slower than a c7zo6.😂

Another keyboard stat hound.. put both those on the road course.. the c8 will eat the c7
No it’s not…my C7Z bone stick ran 11.1 in the 1/4. This car stock did 10.4…stock record is 9.98 in a C8Z
