      steveo1kinevo Hey Steve - I have been! I get students here and there, I just have to keep the volume down because of school. I am indeed instructing though.

      I love watching these practice videos @MrAviation101 - I'm about 4h away from my PPL checkride (35.2h) and watching you, @steveo1kinevo, and @Flight Chops are all hugely entertaining and informative ways for me to pick up tidbits here and there about topics that I can then bring up and discuss with my CFI.
      Also looking forward to watching more CFI videos from both you and Steveo - got Brooke's intro flight queued up next and looking forward to watching @sonikhanem wrap up her PPL with steveo once those videos start getting posted. Keep up the great content!

    Love your videos Josh. I've been at a loose end the last couple of days, and watching some of your vids as a non-pilot has given me a whole new take on flying in general. Not to mention, seeing some great places I'd love to visit one day. Cheers!

    Thanks for sharing - as Instrument rated pilots, we don't always get to fly IMC and when going out there to practice, it's helpful to see and hear how to setup practice approaches with ATC.

    Mr. Aviation, I got my license in a 182 with G1000. Looking at a 2000 model with steam gauges, and a Garmin 430. I have noticed over the last year that you have added something to the right side of the dash that looks like some sort of new synthetic looking attitude indicator. Could you give any advice to a G1000 pilot that is going back to an older stack? Maybe let us know what all of your avionics are?

    @MrAviation101 Hey Josh, greetings from Australia! Always love your vids. I've been a PPL for 4 years now and have finally decided to go and get myself an instrument rating. Might be a silly question, but was just wondering how you have vertical guidance for this RNAV GPS 17 approach? GPS approaches here in Australia are still 2D non precision approaches with lateral guidance only, although Sydney airport is currently trialling a 3D GPS approach (aka GLS) which mimics Cat 1 ILS standards. I know WAAS is light years ahead in the U.S., so was also just wondering how common precision GPS approaches with vertical guidance have become throughout the U.S? Thanks :)

      Leonardo Ojeda I use a checklist every time I'm fly. It is integrated in the GPS which is probably why you don't see me using it.

    U need not go in the Austin Airspace and clog up traffic for an unnecsssary instruemt approach. Instead go to an airport that's a smaller class D or uncontrolled airport. IM an airline pilot and small planes do cause us to have to make longer approaches and they are harder to maintain visual separation from cuz they are harder to see. Its just some advice

    • @Aviation101
      @Aviation101  7 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      C- Boi it's horrible advice. I told the controller "workload permitting" and he denied us the first approach and I was happy with it. Just wait till the next video, I DID do the ILS into austin. Carful, your head may explode. The controllers had no problem with it, in fact, he was happy to sequence me in. I'm not really caring if a few "airline pilots" (Ooo, scary!) don't like me "in their airspace." I learned to fly in a C152 out of a Class C airport (austin) and nobody ever complained. Pretty sure you're alone, pal.

    • @khanair1
      @khanair1 7 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      I have to totally agree here - that is terrible advice. MrAviation101 was completely working with the controllers to get the approach into Austin. As an airline pilot I'm surprised that you don't see the value in pilots working with the system correctly. On top of that, you were a student once and you eventually had to learn how to fly in C/D airspace. One of my of former CFIs is a retired airline captain and he was all about pushing our boundaries during training - it 100% makes us better pilots.

    • @XplaneStudiosHD
      @XplaneStudiosHD 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      C- Boi hey mr airline pilot. The airspace does not discriminate, unlike Mr Trump does. We can fly into "your" airport if we'd like. We get vectored in tight and maintain 120 knots. Sorry we make you guys have to fly longer approaches- you get paid more :(((((((

      0:39 Draining the fuel tanks to make sure there's no water or contaminants in the fuel. As water is more dense than AvGAS, it stays in the bottom of the tank.
      0:44 Visually checking the fuel quantity as most general aviation fuel gauges are not to be trusted !

  • @tigerwoodz8711

      C- Boi I think that the silence for a month or so he can focus on school and becoming a CFI would make a contrary argument to do that. Plus, if he really wanted views, he'd do something different, like daily vlogs with this in there, but aviation is all he does. Although, anyone who posts on TH-cam wants fame, the quality of his content shows that he's not only in it for that.
