Torq lockers are freaking sweet. I have been trying to do research to see if anyone has had problems with them while under rallycross and autocross conditions. I know rally cars have run detroit lockers before and have had great success with getting an open diff when not pressing the gas and a locked diff when accelerating out of a low-speed corner.
Let me know what you find out about that because I just had someone ask me a similar question. My Torq locker never gets used during "spirited" driving since it's a heavy turd haha. But I know there's a lot of people with lifted xt's etc that want to occasionally autocross/rallycross etc.
I'm still very new to the whole offroad subaru stuff, but from my pov, I feel as though for the people spicy enough to offroad with a manuel, it would be a pretty good idea to do a low range 5 speed swap. Not sure what you think about it, but I'd be curious to hear it.
@@swoosh8474 oh definitely a low range makes a HUGE difference. But this video was aimed more at things that most people could do regardless of skill or bank account. Doing that swap is a pretty involved and expensive undertaking here in the States since we didn't get them here. And the average person would be relatively intimidated by swapping transmissions. The other unfortunate thing is that their reduction gear still isn't very low so it doesn't give much extra capability. I considered doing the swap at one point but after I penciled out the costs, I just added a second offroader to my garage for less money😳 What kind of Subaru you got??
@@LiftedImports7 The duel range would be nice because with how it is right now I kinda just got to charge over stuff in 1st and the shocks definitely take a beating when doing that. I currently have a 14 SJ 6 speed and I'm thinking about getting a 2 inch lift for it as well as some 15 inch wheels and tires, but it's my commuter car right now and I'm not sure how much those mods would affect it with me driving the car about 500 miles a week.
I own a bunch of tires currently (Kumo AT51, Cooper MT Evos, Patagonia MT, BFG KM3 etc.) but the tires on my silver forester in this video are Accelera MT01's. Probably my favorite mud terrain tire of all time for lifted Subarus! They're cheap and they grip like crazy. I think they're less than $400 for a set on Amazon currently amzn.to/467fWXV

Under lighting?? Seriously?
Yes, rock lights🤙
why not?
Under lighting looks amazing! Seen someone have them lit during a snow storm, very cool illumination on the road for sure. I’d get those
@@martinr8278 they make trail repairs and spotting so much easier😅
But they look RAD in the snow. I love it.
